My Mechanic

I know cars and I work on my own cars as much as I can. I enjoy it and I have done it for 30 years. So I know mechanics and I know what to look for in a knowledgeable and flexible shop. I took my very specialized car to them recently for work I cannot do, an alignment. Alignments are easy with the right equipment and they have that. Alignments are also tricky to get right, and they got it right. I am very pleased. I was also pleased that they took the time to get to know me and took the time to listen to my peculiar requests. I’m impressed and will start taking my regular cars to them as well.

Great shop to go to the guys know what they are doing and how to talk to customers and the owner works on the cars as well

This place is great! Friendly staff, mailed reminders, and trustworthy. My entire family brings their cars here. I even bring my car here for oil changes because I’ve been burned at Jiffy Lube a few times. Any car need I consult My Mechanic. They even tell me which issues I have to get fixed immediately and which ones I can push off for several months. I recently got my brakes and shocks fixed (and I had pushed these off several months). I couldn’t be happier with My Mechanic!

Mymechanic Mike was the best. You will not be intimidated that he will talk you into unnecessary fixes. He would tell you honestly what the car needs. He will give you an honest to goodness quote. Had my 60 000 miles maintenance done, everything perfect at a reasonable rate and reliable and gets it done on time. Customer service was excellent. Great and honest mechanic. Thanks mike! Too bad i relocated back to my home state.

I had a stubborn license plate that the screws were rusted on. I am new to the state and needed to change the plates asap. Mike the owner, did not let me wait to schedule an appointment but instead agreed to staying late and kept the shop open so that I could come to his shop after work. Mike got the job done and I am very appreciative.

I searched for good mechanic for years and I finally found one in my backyard. I live in Elmhurst and these guys are honest, thorough and really great with the maintenance of my car. I have a 2006 Lexus and they have been doing a great job maintaining my car at a reasonable rate for the services.

My family and I took our cars to him for years when he was in Brookfield.
I haven’t needed much outside of routine maintenance on my cars the last few years, but if I do, I still bring them here — even though I am not that close since I moved.
Mike is fair and easy to talk to. Found out a coworker also went to him and his comment was «never heard a bad thing about that guy». Agreed.

Mike, the owner, has been taking care of my car and my family’s cars for 13 years on and off. The only reason I say «off» is because I moved out of state. You can’t just take your mechanic with you to other states, that’s kidnapping!
Anyway, I was driving home a couple weeks ago and my car started to make an odd noise and then an odd smell. I pulled over and called them. I spoke to Alex, super-​calm and friendly, who advised to have it towed to them, which I did. The next morning I received a call and he asked if I had a warranty, I said the info was in the glove box, he said he’d call me back once he knew more. I received another call not even two hours later and not only did he have a quote but it was all going to be covered by the warranty. He called and found out for me which, in this day and age, was above and beyond. They had the car done the a day and a half later which was great. When I called my dad for a ride home he told me he was actually on his way home from My Mechanic because he’d just picked up his car. Coincidence?! I think not. Just great guys at a great shop that do great work!

We’ve been taking our car to My Mechanic for 7 or 8 years. Mike, the
owner, is honest and helpful, and does the work at a fair price. We had
an old Honda Accord that he kept in great condition, until it just wasn’t
worth putting any more money into. He gently suggested that it might
be time to put the car to rest, and that we did.

Now I don’t know if Mike (my Mechanic owner) moved but he was on Sunnyside in Brookfield. When I moved here 11 years ago, I no longer had my family mechanic and was always weary of sending my car to a stranger. Mike always offers good advice and fair prices. I would recommend anyone to go in for services.

My husbands family had gone there for years without a problem. When his parents moved and he took the truck in they called and told him his brake lines were about to snap and they needed to be replaced. At a very expensive price we paid for this service. After we got the truck home it was leaking brake fluid, they never properly attached the brake lines and then when we took it back they wanted to charge us to fix the problem. The second issue of the day was that my father is a mechanic who does not work in the private sector, but for a village. He was changing my brakes this weekend or he would have changed my husbands. When we told him what they changed the brake lines he blew a gasket and went over there, because we had been ripped off. The brake lines where fine they had been replaced a year ago. Needless to say we have stopped going there for anything because we can no longer trust if the repair is needed or will be done properly.

When our family mechanic of 20 years closed up shop and retired to Las Vegas, we had to find another mechanic to keep our fleet of almost junkers running. This place has been really good to us so far (we have only gone a few times in the last 4 months). He run tests for us for free (probably because he knows we will be good business) and explains cheaper solutions for problems before going in and doing something that costs $ 600. Plus, he always offers you the doughnuts that are laying around.
