I came here for a quick bite and three pastries and coffee were decent. I thought the coffee was a little bitter and wasn’t really that hot. I would probably try a latte next time.

If Andy Dufresne had got out of Shawshank much earlier, I think he’d have skipped Mexico altogether and gone to LA to try and make Hayworth his girl. He’d be in «LA, Callin’ Rita.» As much fun as that might sound… this bakery is even better. What to get: well I liked the Sucos but also try the baked goods What else: Carlos Valderrama’s hair was pretty wild, amirite If you’re someone that needs people’s rear ends, then are you La Culoneeder? It’s an authentic Colombian bakery, the likes of which you would genuinely, literally find on the streets of Bogota. How awesome is that. How do you say 9th St in Spanish? «La Callenintha.» I just made that up. I’ve only been here once, but I will be back. In summer 2014, I went to Brazil and fell in love with all the«sucos». When I got back to NYC, I spent quite a long time in Jugos Prontito(Elmhurst) enjoying all the Colombian versions of the American drinks I’d discovered. But then one day in March 2015, I decided to branch out from Jugos Prontitos(my fave place in all of NYC, and probably USA), and wander the streets looking for other«jugos y algo mas.» And I found this place, among others. If you love the jugos so much here that you drink them in excess and get ill, then you could just take the day off work and«Callinsick.» What I loved about this place: (1) The long line of Colombians and other Latinos waiting to be served with baked goods and foods show how good this place is. (2) Even though the line was so long and the place was so tiny and busy, the guy and girl who were serving people were absolutely lovely to everyone. Truly wonderful service. (3) Once I did finally get served, I asked for a «suco» or a «jugo»(a fresh fruit blended drink with ice and sugar), and they said they weren’t making them because it was winter. And then… because they are so damn nice… the girl agreed to make it anyway. (4) The resulting Suco De Maracuja(Passion Fruit Juice) was absolutely divine. It was just sour enough, just sweet enough, just perfect enough to totally rock my world. It was absolutely as good as the ones I had in South America, and made the same way. So I will most definitely be back, and I could not really appreciate this place any more. And if you eat pollen, you’re «La Polleneater.» And if you like to pleasure Jimmy Fallon then you’re «La Falloneater.» And if you’re anything like me, then you’re «La Coloneater.» Actually forget I said that.

We stopped here to quickly pick up some sweets. We bought two pastries. One was just a plain sweet roll with sugar on top and the second was a pastry filled with cheese and guava. When we got home I immediately ate the cheese and guava dessert. It was tasty. A nice combination of sweet(guava paste) and salty(cheese). I was satisfied so I saved the sweet roll for later. Too bad, when I went to try it later it was stale and dried up! It’s very small inside and limited seating.
