Business Owner

Dr. Malecki earned his dental degree in 1981 from Loyola University and has been catering to both the brave and cowardly since he opened his practice in 1982. He’s a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois State Dental Society. As many of his patients will tell you, he specializes in painless extractions and root canals.

When he’s not at the office, Dr. Malecki is an avid Bears fan and spends much of his time with friends and family. He lives in Downers Grove with his wife Mary and his four adult children. He enjoys salt and fresh water fishing, boating, traveling, collecting antique dental artifacts and micro painting. While in college, Dr. Malecki enjoyed casting intricate jewelry for his classmates which enhances his skill level when casting fillings for patients.

Dr. Malecki has been my dentist for over 20 years now. He was referred to me by another nurse I worked with. He is a very skilled, caring, human being. His chatter keeps you relaxed and helps the time go by. I have never had any trouble with any of my crowns, root canals, or cleaning. He never does work that is not necessary. His bills are reasonable. I’m very glad to have found him.

Ok so I work for a very large parcel service company and as you can imagine it gets really busy in December. All of a sudden in the middle of the controlled chaos my back tooth wants all of my attention and I have none to give. I knew I needed a root canal but I was hoping to postpone it until January. I called the good doctors office and they were able to fit me in that day to begin the process. I was pain free that day. The whole process was painless.
I always hear people say how bad it is to get a root canal… sure I would have rather not had to get one but maybe everyone who complains about it is going to the wrong dentist. This guy is good so go and get your teeth checked.

He’s the best! Been seeing him forever and still remembers me even though I only come in when somethings wrong. His staff is wonderful and very accommodating .will do everything to make sure you feel no pain. Best selection of magazines in the waiting area too!

I adore this man. Seriously, I do. He’s genuinely concerned for his patients, and a damn fine Dentisit to boot. I won’t let another Dentist near my teeth, if I can avoid it. He’s good at what he does, and he doesn’t sugar-​coat things. (Not that you would expect a Dentist to sugar-​coat anything, you know, being a Dentist and all.) I have a problem with Dentistry — I have a tendency to, well, upchuck on Dentists. I told him, in advance, and he was okay with it — he just asked me to let him know how I was doing (I use hand signals while he’s working on my mouth.) The office is clean and comfortable, with minimal wait times. His front desk staff is WONDERFUL — and the Hygenists are also great! I love this practice, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Malecki!

There are hundreds of dentists within a 15 mile radius of me in Chicago, IL, but I travel all the way to Elmhurst to go see Dr. Malecki. He is a family guy — so honest and trusting. I came running to him when another dentist messed up my Invisalign case — Dr. Malecki saved my smile. The front desk staff is so nice and helpful.
They are straight forward and very attentive. The office is clean and contemporary. Dr. Malecki is always looking for the ‘next thing’ and has the newest technology and devices. The hours are so convenient — evenings and Saturdays. I never have trouble getting an appointment. Most Dr’s will not give you their cell in case of emergency, but Dr. Malecki cares about his patients and wants you to have access to him in case something goes wrong.
If there is anyone who follows the traditional standards of what a Dentist is supposed to be, it is Dr. Malecki. You can trust him for his honest opinion. He ALWAYS is in a good mood and ALWAYS follows sanitary and health practices. He has so much experience and is a well respected dentist in the suburbs of Chicago.

Dr. Malecki, despite your comments to me I will stick with my original review. No, you did not wear gloves and yes you smelled like smoke. For comments accusing me of falsely posting untruths about you to harm your business I could lower my rating about you. I will not do that because you did save my tooth and for that I am grateful. I see that you are commenting to those that gave you less than a perfect review. I in fact came to your defense in regards to the negative reviews that you received from others. And it does appear that there were several others that were far less favorable than me.

The sign on his building says:“We Cater to Cowards” so I knew I found the right dentist for me.
When I was 10, I had the «family dentist» in my home town pull 8 of my baby teeth in one sitting with no novaccaine so ever since then, I’ve had a fear of dentists.
I didn’t make an appointment with Dr. Malecki until I actually had to (broke a crown that another crappy dentist put on). When I made the appointment, I mentioned the sign and the receptionist was like, «Yes, we get a lot of people here that are usually afraid of the dentist» So I was glad to hear I wasn’t the only big baby in town.
Dr. M is AMAZING! He was so understanding about my fear of dental pain. Throughout my procedures, he’s always really good about being able to tell if I’m going to freak out or if I need a minute or more nitrous or he’ll say, «I’m almost done (and he actually will almost be done).»
The staff is utterly amazing. I’ve had a lot of work done, too, so I’ve dealt a lot with quotes and insurance and billing and I’ve never had a problem, myself.
I have been seeing Dr. Malecki as my dentist since 2005 and since I started going to him, I’ve moved from Elmhurst to McHenry, IL and I still travel all the way to Elmhurst for my dental appointments. I won’t go to anyone else.

Dr. Malecki was gentle and handle my work on my teeth well. I didn’t have to wait very long in his nice lobby waiting room. It was easy to get to off of Rte 83 and North Ave. I will be going back to see him as my dentist.

I saw this dentist a few years back, never liked or him staff but wanted to finish the dental work he started. He put a crown on a tooth that needed a root canal. My current dentist cannot believe anyone would do this. In essence, I now need to have the tooth pulled (too late to save it) and get an implant, at a whopping $ 4000. Stay away or get a 2nd opinion.
