Small mom and pop shop that is cash only. Had the beef momos, shabalay, Himalayan fried rice and the shak trak. My favorites were the shabalay and Himalayan fried rice. Both were very tasty and the shabalay surprisingly had soup inside. The shak trak beef was a little too chewy for my taste but it did have good flavor. I would definitely return to try more stuff on the menu. I only ordered from the Tibetan dishes but they also serve Indian so I would def want to try some of those dishes next time.

I ate here at this restaurant many times, but most of the time, I ordered food for deliver to my house. The foods are freshly made and delicious. From Tibetan Menu Section: 1. Momo(dumplings) is $ 5 for any types of Momos(vegetable, chicken, beef) except the Fried Momo. The Momo is freshly made, it comes in bamboo steamer, and it is juicy. 2. Gyuma, beef sausage, is soft inside, outside is little bit fried, and it comes mixed with vegetables. I just love this Tibetan version beef sausage so much because it is very delicious. 3. Fried Lhaping is actually tastes way better than the regular Lhaping, but Fried Lhaping cost more money than the regular white Lhaping. 4. Tibetan Tea for $ 1 is must get for chit-chat meet up with your friends. 5. Since it’s summer, must try their Mango Lasi along with your foods, you won’t regret it. It is more delicious than Milk Shake. Since most of the time, I have been ordering food for deliver, the deliver service is actually pretty decent. I don’t know why people are complaining, It’s not a local Chinese restaurant where they cook readymade food with full of MSG and send out for deliver. And also delivery takes time if you’re going to order many foods. This restaurant foods are freshly cooked especially Momo. Mind me, I live 20 minutes walking distance away from this restaurant, and yet they always come to deliver within 20 min to 40 min, depending on amount of the foods I have ordered.

Came here with no expectations and figure we give something new a try. Prices were ok and place is kept clean. Service i thought is good, food came out really really slow though. Samosa came out first. Nice and crispy with two different dipping sauce. I ordered the beef fried noodles. Taste good, kind of oily but something you can get at a chinese take out restaurant. This dish came out before the last dish. We were half way eating before my bf chicken tando came. The chicken leg were so dry… which i did not like at all. Maybe we just didn’t know what to order?

A big«meh.» An hour and a half to deliver about a mile away. Like someone said, Seamless quoted 30 – 45 minutes. Food was fair. Not terrible, not great. I’ve had better momos. Fried rice was bland. I doubt I’ll order from them again.

I hate giving poor ratings but for this I must: 1. IFYOUADVERTISEYOUCANDELIVER in 30 – 45 min, YOUSHOULDLIVEUPTOWHATYOUOFFER. It took an hour and a half for the food to get here. If it was snowing heavily or if it was freezing rain I would understand but it’s 50 degrees out and drizzling. 2. If you claim you can sell a certain cuisine, do it well, not half assed. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala because they apparently do Indian — boy was I mistaken! The food arrived all over the bag, one of the dishes was completely smeared across the bag. G iving two stars because the actual chicken tikka masala was good(sans the rice.) Oh…and the rice is regular white rice(overlooked and sticky) instead of basmati or jasmine. If you claim to make Indian food, you should make Indian food. Otherwise stick to what you make usually and do it well. Unacceptable. Check pictures.

I’ve only ordered the Indian food but every dish has been amazing. This is my new favorite Indian place in Jackson Heights/Elmhurst. The portions are large, the prices are very nice. So far my favorite is saag paneer. I love the food so much that I’m even excusing the slow delivery!

Took 90 minutes to deliver one Chicken Madras. And I included a 20% tip when I placed the order. They never called to say the driver was backed up, or if there was a problem in the kitchen, the weather was perfect, and oh, I live a half mile from this place. And when I tried to call and get an estimate, I was told«2 – 3 minutes» about 30 minutes before I actually got it. No apology forthcoming from them, no partial refund or credit, nothing. Food is average at best. Would not recommend.

Here I found a good spot. After reading the reviews, I decided to stop by. Honestly I am not familiar with Tibetan food; however, the food I ordered(chicken biryani) was yummy! It was flavorful and full of ingredient which I really love it! By the way the service was great. The waitress was so friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back to try another menu as well.

We stopped by here for late lunch around 3pm. The place was practically empty. We were the only customer there. They cleaned up the place well. It’s so much cleaner than when this place was Lao Bei Fang dumpling house. We actually found this place when we were driving around the area but we did not stop by because we just ate at the time. Immediately we checked out Unilocal & after seeing so many great reviews, we decided to check out this place for lunch the next day. The food here were really good, seriously good! We got the beef momo, the fried beef tongue, & the beef sha datse. Everything were so delicious! The beef sha datse were cheesier but less spicy than the one at Wasabi Point(Another fantastic Tibetan /Bhutanese place!). The fried beef tongue were so flavorful. It was spicy but not too much, just enough. As for the beef momo, it was great, somewhat different than typical dumplings that we had. It has that certain flavor that was delicious but we just can’t describe words. All we can say about it is if you’re here, the beef momo is definitely worth getting. Definitely 5 stars if it was just for the food alone. The reason why we can only give 4 stars is because the food took forever to come. If you were hungry to begin with, by the time the food actually comes out, you’ll definitely be starving by then. It’s definitely best not to come here when you’re really hungry. We spent about $ 22 for the fried beef tongue, two ting mo’s, one bowl of white rice, beef sha datse, & the beef ting mo. The portion were decent. The service was good. Our waitress was friendly & polite. Overall, this place is great! If you are looking for a delicious authentic Himalayan cuisines, this is definitely a place you want to try. You definitely won’t be disappointed. We’ll definitely go back!

Came here a snack with the roomie. We ordered Masala, Momo, and I third dish I can’t remember. I can’t remember because it never arrived. They gave me a chutney salad instead though. I was pretty delicious. So were the other dishes. The staff was very friendly even though they were disorganized. Will watch as this place matures. They have a lot of potential once they get out of the start-up phase of things.

My friend was picking up dumplings from Lao Kou Wei only to find it closed– and renamed Himalaya Kitchen. He brought me back a menu and after eating here for the first time today I’m a fan. First of all, they did an amazing job cleaning up the location. It’s an awkward building and the dumpling house was sort of divey. They redid the floors, the walls, got in nice new tables and chairs, cleaned the windows– the place is spotless and very pretty. It’s still hard to tell from the outside, but when you walk in you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Seating is limited to two tables with four chairs, and two tables with three chairs, so I think I’d mainly be coming here for takeout or delivery. The people who work there are extremely nice. Even though I was getting takeout they let me sit and brought my a cold glass of water, and then offered me this milky tea on the house, and were all smiles the whole time. As others have said the food took exactly 20 minutes to make and besides a couple getting their check I was the only one here. I ordered the streamed beef momos(8 for $ 5). The beef is a nice alternative to the usual pork dumplings and have a good amount of this nice liquid broth that bursts in your mouth when you bite into them. It comes with a small container of a mildly spicy sauce that’s pretty tasty. I also got the vegetable samosas(2 for $ 3) and thought they were good. They’re not my favorite samosas but I still enjoyed them. I could use more potato then green bean and a slightly sweeter flavor. These had a very heavy, earthy, rich flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. ETA: Avoid the Indian food. White rice, super sweet tikka masala– all the hallmark mistakes of a place that doesn’t do Indian trying to do Indian.

Yumm! Spicy fried beef tongue is a MUST. Also had the tandoori chicken(a on the dry side), laphing(nothing new, it’s ok), and tsak sha la kor hot(this was yummy and carb-free). The only thing that sort of disappointed me was the mango lassi — it was somewhat watery and the flavors were a bit off, not to my liking. Still, I wouldn’t mind trying other things on the menu.

This is the newest Himalayan spot in the neighborhood and it has plenty of Indian, Tibetan and Bhutanese fare. I stopped by one of the first days open and just ordered appetizers to test it out before going in for a full meal. I was happy to see the menu is filled with vegetarian options. I got the veggie momos and samosas. Both were delicious but very different, the samosas were obviously very Indian, and the momos had a distinct Asian influence. I was happy to see that unlike some Himayalan restaurants, the food was not fusion, but regionally authentic. It took over 20 minutes to get my food, which surprised me because I was one of the first guests. I guess its because the kitchen had just opened and they make everything fresh, so that’s worth the wait. The staff was friendly despite some language barrier and refilled my water regularly even though I was just there for take-out. I love nearby Wasabi point, but was happy to see the prices for all dishes were a few dollars cheaper here. I have a feeling if this restaurant can survive, its going to be one of my go-to regular spots. I can’t wait to try the rest of the dishes! Its location is a notorious restaurant killer. I’ve seen several restaurants come and go just in the past year alone. No one makes it longer than a few months. I hope these guys survive! It was clearly family run, so I highly encourage all my fellow Unilocalers to come try it out to make sure they can stay in business!

Second day in business and off to a great start. Simple but welcoming décor and warm and attentive staff. Tibetan side of the menu is somewhat limited but has everything you want most. I’d like to try the Indian side of the menu but not until a couple more visits for Tibetan. It’s nice to see the Himalayan/Nepalese scene spread out a little from Roosevelt Ave in the 70s even if it is just a couple of miles. We had the Chele Khatsa spicy fried beef tongue — cut really nice, spicey for sure but just enough restraint to let the tongue flavor shine. The LaPhing(slippery mung bean noodles in a tangy spicy sauce with cilantro) was fantastic — I haven’t been this excited about a side dish since discovering Liang Pi noodles at Xi’an famous. Tsak Sha La Kor Hot was a big hearty stew, rough cuts of beef and some fat floating around but it seemed appropriate, especially with the radish and«tibetan mountain herbs» to cut it. Thenthuk hand made noodle stew was even better, tons of fresh noodles, perfect consistency in a thick broth. For some reason we also ordered beef in this one — I guess we were in beefy moods but in retrospect it would be nice to know how they handle chicken or veggie dishes. We walked in at 6pm starving from a long day of outdoor work and a skipped lunch on my part and walked out a little more full than I meant to be with a huge breakfast and then some in leftovers for $ 18.75 plus tip. One of the owners came out to talk to us at the end of our meal — she really wanted to know how we liked it and we had a great conversation about Tibetan food and language. Several staff joined in and it was a real privilege to get a little acquainted with a crew so eager to create a positive dining experience. I am tempted to dole out 5 stars but my policy is to show a little restraint when it’s a brand new place and I haven’t really explored the menu. After 2 or 3 visits I may well be upgrading to a 5 if they keep up the great work,
