I actually do not mind cleaning. I’m a bit of perfectionist and after back and 2 hip surgeries it was STILL hard to relinquish this. For 4 years I’ve looked high and low and I’ve finally found the service for me.
First, everyone I’ve spoken with at Helping Hands is incredibly professional. Joanna does a great job of communicating and responding immediately regarding scheduling. Once you decide to use their services (and you will), they can automatically bill your credit card — no worrying about checks or whether you have enough cash on hand. Right now they clean every 2 weeks, however they can accommodate ANY frequency.
Prices are reasonable. Another company which I would NOT recommend (the name = British 1970s prime time soap opera) quoted me over the phone a hi/​low range and then, after a mediocre cleaning job, tacked on another $ 35 to the highest end of the quote. I have just one bedroom to clean, no basement, and my 1600 square feet of living space is clutter free and clean– and still– the price was out of sight. When I called to confirm they had the right house (since the estimate was $ 35 over their highest quoted price) they could not explain /​justify the price. I emailed again asking if they figured out why the price was so high and/​or if that was the quote corresponding to my 1600 sq ft house (versus a typical Elmhurst mega-​mansion housing 3 kids and a dog) — they never responded.
And finally, the cleaning! I’ve tried a few now and Helping Hands is by far superior in quality and thoroughness. I adore Pamela! She does a great job and it’s a pleasure having her in my home– she is professional, accommodating, and good at what she does… what a relief!
Such a refreshing experience with Helping Hands. I’m a happy customer, here to stay!

Benita and Pamela came today to clean my house after 6 weeks of remodeling the bathroom. My house was covered in dust and I really needed someone to just get all the dust. They did a fantastic job, they did an extremely thorough job.

Benita comes and cleans our office once and does such a wonderful job! She’s so thorough and polite and we love to have here here! Never had one complaint

I have used Helping Hands for many years, and have enjoyed very consistant teams over the years that have gotten to know my house well. My current team, Irene and Marili, have done great job keeping my house clean. They are quiet and efficient and polite! Helping hands is always willing to work with me on any issues that come up, such as changing times/​dates. They call well in advance to reschedule for holidays. I know I can count on them when I need them!

Attention to detail! They are amazing cleaners, they clean way better than I ever could! I feel like I have a brand new home when they are finished. They also make your bed and fold blankets etc to make the house look perfect with everything in its place. Their prices are very reasonable for the amount of time they spend cleaning and the quality of their service.

I’ve been an HH customers for more years than I can count so that says a lot! They do a terrific job and are extremely responsive to any issues I’ve had. They value their long-​term customers and it shows. I love coming home after work to a clean house and usually carryout on Thursday nights so I don’t have to mess up my spotless kitchen. Highly recommend them for their work and their customer service!

Helping Hands has been cleaning my house for over 9 years and I have been very happy with their service. The office staff is friendly and professional and my team members Alfredo and Isabel are fantastic! They always go the extra mile whether it’s changing a light bulb or wiping down the outside of my glass doors. I would definitely recommend this company!

I have used Helping Hands off and on for the past 7 years and they have always been great to work with, but recently the service has been exceptional. They always clean exactly the way I request and I have never had to repeat instructions. My person always remembers details, is always friendly and even does extras that I don’t ask for. It is so pleasant to come home after she has cleaned to find the house sparkling and smelling great. I never want to let my kids in the house after she has been here because it’s so nice to enjoy the cleanliness and I don’t want it to end!

I just had them in my house that was very dirty, I just started working full time, they did a deep spring cleaning and I couldn’t be more impressed! My blinds and windows have never looked so good! My house was immaculate when they left! I picked out a very few misses, but all in all they were fantastic and VERY professional! Even loved my dog! They were to be here at 8:30 but they were parked in front of my house by 8, at 8:30 exactly they were at my door. Highly recommend.

I was very hesitant after reading some of the reviews om Unilocal, but I worked with one of the mangers, Joanna, and she was incredibly professional, courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. She addressed my concerns and kindly dealt with my neurosis, lol. I stopped by on my lunch hour and saw what a great job the team was doing. My home was impeccably clean after construction, it was such a pleasure. I plan on doing business with them again, and recommend them to people I know.

I’ve been using HH on and off for about 2 years. The first 2 or 3 times, the service was great. Things went downhill after that. My vacuum was left out one time (still plugged into the wall, but vacuum itself was in another room), cleaning supplies left out and lights have been left on almost every single time. They also tell you they use their own supplies, but they were using mine instead. You can pretty much count on them not showing up when they’re supposed to, and therefore, not finishing on time. On 2 separate occasions, they scheduled me and the day before they were supposed to come, I emailed to confirm since I hadn’t heard from them, and they didn’t have me on the schedule. I’m not saying don’t try them out — the people running the place are genuinely nice — but you could probably find better service elsewhere.

My wife and I highly recommend Helping Hands Cleaning Services.
1. The quality of their cleaning is always top-​notch. They don’t miss a thing!
2. They are reliable and always show up on time. Because they have so many cleaners working for them, there is always someone to take over if a cleaner is sick.
3. We love that they are insured and bonded so that we never have to worry about anything getting broken or anyone getting hurt.
4. They have a variety of cleaning services. It’s just one place to call for any cleaning need we’ve had from carpet cleaning to grout cleaning to sanitizing.

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would… almost a perfect experience with them! I would definitely highly recommend.
I purchased a Living Social deal almost a year ago and had put off having them come clean my house because of course I had to get ready for them by cleaning my house, right? Actually, wanted to really get organized and put stuff away. which I finally did, so last week they came out to do the job.
I thought two women would be coming. I am pretty sure that’s what the lady said on the phone when I booked my appointment. They were to arrive at 8a which was great, I leave for work between 8 – 8:30a. I called at 8:20 letting them know no one had shown up yet — the lady on the phone was nice and said she’d find out what was going on and call right back. She did call back in a few minutes and said the girl got lost but is now only 5 minutes away. Fine, it happens. at 8:40a I called back and let them know no one had shown up yet. Same thing, she said she’d find out and call back, which she did, and said that the girl is just 5 minutes away. Now at this point I’m getting annoyed and actually responded «you said 5 minutes away 20 minutes ago»…the woman responded «so sorry, she got stuck in traffic». OK, now it’s a different excuse but whatever. Actually, the woman (one person, not two) did show up within 5 minutes this time… and she apologized for being late, even showed me her shirt which had a fresh coffee spill on it… I definitely got the impression she left too late — not that she was lost or stuck in traffic. But at least she showed up, I was starting to worry that I’d have to leave for work and there was no way I was going to leave my door unlocked.
My living social deal was for a house up to 2500 square feet. Mine is only about 1500 so I asked if she could also please clean the basement bathroom, and she said absolutely, whatever I want. I’ve never had a maid before so honestly I didn’t even know what else to ask/​tell her. I left for work. All day I wondered if she would have remembered to lock up, as there have been homes burglarized on my block… I stopped home briefly at 2:15 to make sure the door was locked… and to my surprise, she was still there cleaning after 5 hours! I walked in and she was down on her hands and knees vaccuming and manually pulling dirt out from underneath a stereo console in my kitchen. I hadn’t done that in a loooooong time so I can only imagine what she found. I couldn’t believe she was that thorough. She had no idea I was even there because of the vacuum being on. I stood there for a few minutes because I wanted to tip her, but didn’t want to startle her. She never stopped cleaning and I had to make an appointment so I left some cash and note by her cell phone. I came back at 4:30 and guess what… she was STILL there! I then increased the tip.
She was finally done at 5pm. She not only cleaned the basement bathroom but also the rest of the finished area. Her vacuum is so much better than mine… best my basement has ever looked.
I do think had two cleaning people showed up rather than one they would have been done in half the time… but wow, was my house clean! I don’t know if it’s normal or not for this company to only send out one person as I’ve never used them before… but I know my neighbors usually have two people show up to clean their homes and now I know why. I also now know why people have maids regularly. I absolutely love my house this clean. I wish I had the time… seeing a professional take a solid 8 hours (I asked if she stopped for lunch and she said «no»!) explains why I only get a fraction of what she did done each week.
It’s worth it just for a sparkly clean tub… and stainless steel appliances that no longer show finger prints… and no dust or dog hair anywhere… I really wish I could afford to do this regularly and I’m considering maybe once a month. With the exception of them being late I had a great experience with this company and I’d like to think they are normally prompt. I will probably hire them again and let you know! :)

I had checked out this Service and Their Reviews But Still Purchased A Living Social Certificate… and Not Learning My Lesson The First Time… Went Ahead and Bought into the Buy 3 Cleanings… Get One Free…
This Service doesn’t seem to know the correct information… or Follow Through With What They Verbally Tell You… After my initial cleaning… which was very good… I signed up for every other week with Anna & Evonna… A client had cancelled their cleanings for the Summer according to HH… so I was put in this day… every other week… On July 5^th… no one showed up for cleaning… I waited 2 Hours and then I called the HH office. The reason was I wasn’t on the Schedule for that day? Really? Why wouldn’t I Be??? HH didn’t know Why???
Finally…I received a return phone call from HH… The Client was Back from Vacation… They only were gone for One Month. What happened To All Summer? Oh that was an error… we are sorry… So HH takes me OFF the schedule and doesn’t bother to Call Me??? They had to refer my complaint to the owner…
This company doesn’t return Phone Calls… especially when they specify a certain day they will call back… HH will say they have called… I have CALLED ID… They did something to the Grout in my 2.5 Year Old Shower;(;(;(… I had to take pictures and e-​mail them to both HH AND GOSIA who is the owner… and then they couldn’t open the pictures on their computer… so Gosia and the Office Manager Ewa came to my house to look at my Shower and said it was built up Soap… Funny it wasn’t there the day before…
Gosia told me the name of a non toxic cleaning serice nearby… and said that she would e-​mail me some information about another cleaning lady… Never received that e-mail…Last…don’t expect anything from this Company on Mondays… that is their Payroll day… Must be an all Day Project??? And they just got a new computer system that is supposed to help with some of the above problems… well…it does not!
My Free Cleaning Consisted Of 2 Girls for 1 Hour 20 Minutes. They missed junk on my bath vanity from the previous cleaning;(;(;(;(… They turn ever light in the house on. and have blown fuses every time…

WOW — I’m surprised after that Living Social deal, Helping Hands didn’t get more reviews. This is why I love Unilocal — I have a great experience with a service professional and I can tell the world.
AGNES cleaned our apartment. I mean, Agnes CLEANED our apartment. She was AWESOME. One woman, one roll of paper towels, one Eastern European work ethic — OH YEAH AGNES! you did an awesome job.
I was a little worried when only one person showed up– my apt is actually quite huge, but she stayed like 4 hours to get the job done and was on her HANDS AND KNEES scrubbing away. At one point, I had to make her drink some water. Agnes means business and does not suffer fools gladly.
I don’t know about their service area limitation — I had a hell of a time trying to book this appointment. (my Ravenswood apt is just in the 25 mile limits of the voucher, but their computers wouldn’t allow a booking.) I really appreciated the fact they had availability within the week (didn’t expect them to) and called me the day before when they needed to move the appointment.
Ah – such simple things — one needs to be late, so you call and make sure it’s okay. Isn’t it nice how the world works when we use our words and the basic communication tools available to us?
Great service, my floors are CLEAN and I don’t have to wear flip flops to walk around, not that I did anyway.
