Dogs Love Running! of Elmhurst

My wife and I started using Dogs Love Running the first week we brought our small breed (Maltese poodle mix) puppy home, and we really appreciate the care they offer him while we are at work. He gets fed lunch, fresh water, and a walk/​play time.
I love the daily «report card» we receive as well, as it lets us know how our little guy did during the day and gives us peace of mind while we’re away. Amy is quick to respond to any questions we have, and I feel that she is a good and responsible business owner. Having this level of confidence is extremely important when it comes to things like this, as I’m sure any dog owner will understand.
The walkers themselves do a great job, and I like how the system is set up – instead of having only one person come out five days a week, there are two walkers who split days. This means that in the event a backup is needed you don’t have to worry about a stranger coming to take out your dog. Again, it’s a good peace of mind component of this operation.
So, all in all, we’re extremely happy with Dogs Love Running and would recommend them to anyone in the Elmhurst area.

We couldn’t have been happier and more comfortable with the service Amy provided. Our dog is a little apprehensive around new people, but quickly warmed up to Amy. She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough right from the first meeting. Reliability is always a concern with having people watched your pet while out of town, but Amy arrived right on time for the multiple visits we scheduled each day. We have already began recommending her to other people and will continue to use her going forward.

Trusted these guys to watch our Italian Greyhound for over 10 days while we vacationed in Asia. The neighbors said they were always at our house watching our dog. They did what they said, and responded immediately for updates. Great job!

We just got a 8 week old Aussiedoodle puppy at the beginning of this month, earlier than we originally planned. I was still in full-​time classes with finals coming up and my fiancé is an intern, so we were desperate to find someone to let the puppy out/​give her attention when we both had long days. Dogs Love Running was the answer!!!
It was particularly hard finding someone because she is a puppy. The first week we had her, just as we were getting to know her, we had to explain her to someone else. We needed someone who would know how to respond to her if new behavior cropped up. It was also tough because needed sessions about every 2 hours so she wasn’t in the cage longer than her developmental stage made room for. I was nervous about having just anyone spend time with her since anyone who spends time with a puppy is bound to leave impression. Especially when they play the role of a handler. When I met with Amy, I immediately felt confident that she knew how to help us. Even during the time we had services with them, things were constantly changing as our puppy continued to grow. So I was in contact with Amy often to update her and adjust things, she was always receptive to it all. As a new puppy owner, I really appreciated that!
The main ways we benefitted: Our puppy was socialized with a person very knowledgable and confident in dog care. She was kept in her cage only for reasonable amounts of time and Amy was flexible to meet her needs. Housebreaking could continue seamlessly, and she is already pretty reliable in this area now at 11 weeks old (thank god!!!). She received play time, so when we finally got home after our long days, we didn’t have to wear out a puppy that might’ve been sleeping the entire time otherwise. Our puppy can be pretty high energy, and Amy seemed to accept the challenge enthusiastically, which really reassured me. We didn’t have to beg family or friends to help us out with her care, we had someone who solely focused on the care of our pet. Finally, I feel so lucky that we have found a reliable group of people to help us as our pet grows!
To me, their services are a resource that every dog owner should have. Dogs Love Running really felt like an ally to us while navigating puppyhood :)

I cannot give enough positive feedback about DogsLoveRunning, since we joined in August 2013. We have two dogs – Sammie, a 3 yr. old Westie, and Titan, a now 9 month old Australian Shepherd. Our walkers alternate between Amy, Althea, and Colleen, all of whom are fantastic with our dogs.
Our arrangement is the walker comes for a 30 min. session mid-​day, and is fantastic at taking both dogs for a walk, bathroom break, and playing with them until I can come home from teaching. If the weather is snowy or rainy, they adjust as well, which I love, because they still give the dogs the time and attention needed from being home alone. The walkers leave a note with a checklist of what’s been done during the session too, which is great for communication.
I’ve been home once or twice when they’ve come for the walk, and Titan and Sammie are so excited to greet them, so I know there is a bond formed, and I whole-​heartedly trust DogsLoveRunning taking care of my pets. Amy is wonderful at managing and modifying the schedule, since I teach, and often have breaks or some random days off. She’s also great at responding to emails if I ask a request, such as administering medicine, using a different leash, or altering their feeding schedule.
DogsLoveRunning is a fantastic resource I highly recommend to utilize, and you can genuinely see the company’s passion reflected in your dog’s demeanor from the walkers’ time, love, and care!

I moved to Elmhurst recently and was in need of someone to help out with the pup when I went out of town. Dogs Love Running has been the answer. My dog gets to stay in her home and it’s way cheaper than any kennel out there (plus they get exercised!!). They are always very prompt in getting back to me and leave detailed report cards of their visits. I would definitely recommend them!
