If you enjoy a cold one with your spouse or a friend this is a nice place to go… Ambience is Irish bar like and has a great energy with a mix of different ages from 20 something to senior citizens. Owner always seems to walk about to see how your doing and staff is friendly. Tonight I ordered an Irish Rueben which was awesome and a side salad which was perfecto while sipping a Virgin Mary and an NA beer while my wife enjoyed a couple glasses of wine. We enjoyed ourselves.

Service was wonderful, but food was awful. Came for the corned beef sandwich and rueben, both of which were chunks of tough corned beef on soggy rye bread. We’ll keep going to McBobs instead.

We went there on a busy Friday night. Service was horrible. Sat at a table for 30 minutes before a waitress said I’ll be back after I wait on someone else. Never saw her again. We finally stopped another server who took our drink order. How can you not have salt for margarita rim? We ordered perch and blue gill and waited another 30 minutes before it came out. It was awful — so over cooked, it was like cardboard, no flavor. The fries were cold. My husband said the best thing we ate was the tartar sauce. We will not be back.

Slow service Our brought one person in our group his food and now passes by every 15 minutes or so to apoligize for the wait. Does any one know where the closest Taco Bell is to downtown Elm Grove, I am thinking the only way I am going to eat to night is to make a run for the boarder.

O’Donoghue’s is an institution, and my home bar. Large food menu where everything is made fresh, good tap selection, and an impressive Irish whiskey selection. I highly recommend the reuben rolls. While being a great place for locals, this place pulls in notable guests from all around SE Wisconsin. The owner is one of the friendliest and most professional I’ve ever encountered, and can be found making his guests feel at home most nights. The atmosphere is perfect for a neighborhood Irish bar, cozy and welcoming with a great energy.

Overall the experience was pretty so-so…the wait staff was nice and the atmosphere was equally pleasant. Where the review fell short was in the quality of food and speediness of service. Fun place, recommend checking out for a drink, but not for a great dinner outing.

Pretty good for a small place. The appetizer sampler is huge, so big we opted to cancel our dinner order. Staff is friendly. The menu isn’t as irish as I expected but had the token irish fare. It is very small and kinda divey but I’d go again if I was in downtown Elm Grove.

Stopped in for a burger as we have done for years and years. This time it was awful. They have super thin patties, no flavor and a huge bun. Don’t know why they changed them as they used to be what brought us in. Also, the cole slaw was terrible. I was very disappointed this time.

The food is constantly exceeding expectations. Happy hour 2 – 5 every day $ 1 off all alcoholic beverages and $ 1 off appetizers. Four fabulous soups prepared daily! Fish fry Fridays are delicious. Elm grove was voted best suburb in America in 2014 – rightfully so.

Not a bad place for lunch. Kind of a divey atmosphere and the dining area was freezing. But the service was good and quick and the food was pretty darn good. The prices are pretty cheap, but if you want to add chicken to a salad it’s an extra $ 6 which is redunk.

Visited again saturday night 9÷27÷14. Great little outdoor seating area with torches aplenty. Jamie’s wings on the appetizer menu are fall-out-of-your-chair AWESOME. Have all the benefits of being grilled, so flavorful, and all the flavors hit in the right place, even the pepper. Best bone in wings I’ve ever had. Jamie the owner is SUPER nice and fun to talk to. I’m loyal forever.

Great wings, i forget what they are called but the house special wings… A lil spice n twang. Staff is always okay, never quick or very knowledgeable and apparently workout clothes are unifirm appropriate. Its close so we go there but wouldn’t recommed for anything other than convenience.

I live in Charlotte, NC now but grew up two blocks from this bar. It was called something else then but i visit every time i am back here to visit family. They have a grilled Polish sausage that is amazing. First it is simply huge so come hungry. Full of spice and other flavors. Delicious every time. Add in the great beer selection and outstanding bloody mary’s and a winner always.

Dave is the best waiter! I had a special order and he came through for me. Food is great and live entertainment was the perfect start to the weekend. Definitely will return and bring some more peeps;)

I have nothing good to say about this place. Had lunch here on a Tuesday and despite there being only about 5 tables of customers in the place(and all half-full, at that), the service was just terrible. 10 minute wait for water + 10 minute wait to order + 20 minutes for the food(1 wrap &1 sandwich) = 40 minutes from arriving to eating I think our server forgot about the sandwich, because the fries alongside the wrap were cold — as if they’d been sitting while the sandwich was made. And, the salad wrap of mine was cut in half, but must not have been rolled well on the inside — as soon as I picked it up, it all fell apart. And half the filling was croutons. I also noticed other patrons not being greeted upon arrival and being barked at to «sit wherever [they] want»…so that the server could get back to chit-chatting with her coworker. All in all, it ended up being $ 25 + an hour for lunch for 2 with terribly awful service. I hear they have a good fish fry on Fridays, but I don’t know that I want to risk going back. Which is too bad — they’re in a good location relative to business offices, including mine.

I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem! I had the Reuben and it was delicious. We stopped by on a whim to grab a drink and ended up staying for dinner to watch the NHL playoffs. Will definitely be back!

Went for a quick pint or two and some bar food. They have the typical full line of Irish beers on tap. Guinness was $ 6+ a pint which is too pricey for this place. Food was OK for bar food. I did hear a few Irish tunes on the radio mixed in with typical pop rock. This is definitely a neighborhood spot. Lots of regulars and the like. Not a bad experience but nothing special.

Great place. Family atmosphere. Great live music. Friendly staff. Love coming here at the end of a hard work week to relax and enjoy some great Guinness, appetizers and sometimes an awesome Fish Fry. :)

Met a friend for lunch and a drink here while planning an event because she lives in Elm Grove and doesn’t know Milwaukee at all. Definitely seems like a neighborhood joint where everyone there knows everyone else, but it wasn’t off-putting. Our waitress was attentive, but when she realized we were having a meeting and going to be awhile, told us to flag her if we needed her and left us alone. The food was good, solid bar food. I had a large, delicious, fresh sandwich and she had a burger. Both were filling and inexpensive. The music was classic rock, which was pretty entertaining and not so Irish. It’s totally not in my neighborhood, but if I ever found myself in this side of town, I would go back.
