Comfort Inn Ellsworth – Bar Harbor

When I entered through the main door into the lobby, I was greeted with warmth, a pleasant smell, and Mike. Mike at the front desk got us into a room sooner than usual and was very helpful in addition to being knowledgable.
The rooms I’d say were above average. My room consisted of two comfortable queen sized beds, mini fridge, microwave, crappy Philips TV, table, chairs, and an armoire. There was also a vault in the unlikely scenario you needed to secure your drug dough. Bathrooms were smaller than most hotels I’ve been to, but again, the room was just fine.
Fresh soft cookies were the highlight of our stay and we were notified by none other than Mike they’d be available at 2PM. Mike did not lie– shortly after 2PM we came down and there were cookies! I ate one and they were wicked good.
4/​5, would sleep here again.

Hands down the best hotel of its type I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. CLEAN. Friendly, accommodating and helpful staff. Quiet. Accessible. CLEAN. Comfortable beds. Rooms fully stocked with all necessities. EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN.
I have stayed at a lot of hotels but this Comfort Inn takes the cake for a memorable experience for all the right reasons.

Everything was fine with the room and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast could definitely be improved. The coffee tasted really bad and there are much better commercially prepared waffle batter mixes available. The appliances could probably stand an upgrade also. I admit that I am no fan of these types of breakfasts which are prevalent in competitively priced hotels/​motels. We were there on Sunday, Nov 2, the night of the blizzard, and there were a lot of families with dogs coming in. If we had known about this, and that «pet free» rooms were available, we would have asked for one.

This was a last minute thing. Our car broke down on the way to Acadia National park and our choices were Comfort inn, Jasper’s, Hampton inn, ramada, or Eagle’s lodge. Hampton inn and ramada had no vacancies and Jasper’s and Eagle’s lodge looked sleazy so we were left with Comfort inn.
I was really surprised how nice this Comfort inn was! I slept so well! It definitely helped that they had posturpedic pillows and plush comforters like the ones at home. The shower pressure was strong and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was ok. The citrus peach juice was a lot better than the other drink choices. And the waffle maker is not fool proof! The bacon and scrambled eggs was like cafeteria food, but I appreciated the choices. They also had a gym on the first floor. I think there was an issue with the AC in the room but I didn’t really notice. Lastly, they are dog friendly if you pay a $ 25 fee per pet. I don’t think I could ask for more from them…
Oh and they did have weird check out rules. I think it was checkout by 11am, late check out is 12pm, but if you checkout between 12−2pm, it’s an extra $ 20 and any time after 2pm is an extra night. It’s fair though…

This hotel only got an average rating when I booked through Expedia, but I had faith. Sure enough, the hotel staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was satisfactory. The location was good if you plan to fully explore the area and not just Bar Harbor. We drove up to Campobello Island in New Brunswick, and to the casino in Bangor, plus Ellsworth itself is lovely. The beds were comfortable, quiet, and we were comfident that we got our monies worth. I am never disappointed with Comfort Inn.

An excellent hotel, very clean, friendly, helpful staff, with a decent breakfast, quiet. I thought it was worth the price and the location was close enough to Bar Harbour to be convenient and drivable.

Stayed for 2 nights. Pretty impossible to get a place within Bar Harbor, so we decided to get one outside Acadia National Park … around Ellsworth.
A small city, but a great place. Easy to find decent restaurants … came to a point where we didn’t want «lobsters & clams» anymore !!! We were practically craving burgers & spicy thai food …
The Comfort Inn was very quiet. Extremely clean. Great staff. And good location for us to drive into Acadia National park.
Not very cheap … ($ 140 per night) … but less expensive than the ones in Bar Harbor … but worth it. oh … the breakfast in the morning wasn’t bad either. It’s not a «warm» breakfast … but they had: waffles, hard-​boiled «peeled» eggs … and my favorites … Activit yogurts !!! A variety of cereals.
