This is the only asian salon that I was fully satisfied. (I usually only get my hair done in Korea, my hometown.) There were a wide range of customers, not only Asians.
Cut about 5 inches of my hair for $ 25.

Avoid the elder lady，she finished the cut for a womon in less than 10 min. She didn’t ask people what they wanted but just did what she likes. I haven’t got such short hair for 10 years.

I have been going to Tony’s Hair Salon for over 6 months and always asked for Tony to cut my hair. Recently I had learned that he left, but that the salon will remain open. I took a chance and decided to get my hair cut today with Julie and let me just say, this is one of the best haircuts I have EVER had. Julie is super friendly and very meticulous. I can not praise her enough. I already booked my next appointment with her. Thanks Julie. :)

My husband and I have been going to Tony’s for couple years now. I would get my hair done by Angela and my husband by Tony and we were very satisfied. On our most recent visit, I found out that Tony and Angela no longer works there. Joy told me they no longer does hair and they sold the store. Looks like they hired another young female hair stylist (I think her name is Julie) but I can’t say much about her work yet. But Joy meets my need for what I need to get done. I’ll probably try out Julie next time I visit.

Tony has been my hair stylist for about 7 months and I have never regretted his work.
Unfortunately he said he ll be gone soon and Julie would be replacing him.

i got my haircut from Julie. I was really satisfied! She’s very careful and cut my hair to what i wanted. I wanted a stylish but easy to manage hair, and i got it. Definitely recommend her!

I love this place! Ms. Joy Kim is my regular stylist and she does great haircuts. I have thin, flat hair and she is able to create nice layers that add volume to to my hair. $ 30 for a good haircut is perfectly reasonable. The staff is very attentive and friendly too, especially Mai.

I went on Unilocal and discovered this place, no appointment needed, walked-​in and had my haircut and finished within 20 minutes, my barber and I had small conversations and was very friendly, she then recommended hairstyles and what kind of hair products I should use and was very pleased by her service.

After reading some positive reviews, I took the plunge to try this salon out. Sadly, my hair dresser at a different salon was unavailable to cut hair today so we checked out Tony’s. I called first to check the prices out and they seemed reasonable: Children Under 10: $ 15 and Women’s Cut: $ 20 (super duper cheap) — but that should tell you something.
The hair stylist Mrs. Kim, an older Korean lady, cut my son’s hair and literally whacked off practically every hair follicle on his precious head! Before the cut, I tried explaining to her EXACTLY what I wanted, even going as far as to naming the exact blade number and the type of «blending» I wanted for him and keeping the hair length in the front long. While this was all going on, I was getting my hair shampooed so I wasn’t even able to watch her in action. By the time I turned back to examine the progress of my son’s hair cut, she had shaved off everything on the sides and the back of his head! I think my eyes popped out in horror. What was I suppose to say? What could I even possibly say to her now that it was too late?
In my head, I wanted to interject and say, «please stop cutting/​shaving my son’s hair!» But I couldn’t. It was too late. Also, as I had a towel wrapped around my head, ready to be cut next, I was thinking to myself, should I just tell her, «I decided not to get a hair cut today.» But that would have been so rude, since I already got my hair washed. Ugh…
When she was finished cutting my son’s hair, all I could say to myself was, «It’s just hair, it will grow back…» I was nervous she was going to butcher my hair too. Thus, I had to think fast and I simply told her I wanted a trim, long layers (because honestly, you really cannot mess that up.) Thankfully, my trim and cut didn’t turn out as bad… but we will see in a few months when it grows out.
I will mention, there was a younger male hair stylist who seemed to do a pretty decent job on the requests made by people as they sat in his chair. Perhaps that was Tony? I should have asked for him to cut my son’s hair.
All in all, I highly doubt we will be back. I was really hoping that this salon would be a great back-​up place to go last minute.
But just to be fair… the positives: friendly service, walk-​ins available, clean, great prices – but you pay for what you get, and great shampoo job.

Been going here for about a year and a half now, staff is friendly and the cuts have been pretty consistent. Definitely try to book with Tony ahead of time.

So I just moved here from Chicago and was trying to find a new place where I can keep on going to get my hair cut. I came here today because my friend recommended it to me. I will NEVER come back here again! This place is TERRIBLE!
So I grew out my hair pretty long because I wanted to change the style of my hair. An old lady sits me down and asks me what I want. I can tell she has no hair cutting experience, has not gone to cosmetology school, and is some random lady these people hired. I tell her that I want the sides short and top long so I can slick it back. She chops off EVERYTHING! I am furious but stay polite. I basically just tell her to stick to my normal crew-​cut hair style and that I don’t want to spike it. She does a half-ass’d job and spikes my hair… Her technique is terrible and the sides & top are uneven. I give her $ 20 ($ 18 + $ 2 tip) and just walk out.
A word of advise, if you want to get your hair cut, go somewhere else!

No beard services. If you are looking for full service may be this is not the place to go. Also if you want Tony to cut your hair please set up an appointment as early as early (2 – 3 days ahead) of time just to set your time and his time available. I get a cut from a lady and then went to a different place for beard. Also one person takes care off 2 – 3 people at a time. So if you have times quiz make sure you tell them ahead.

it’s nice and clean place to have a hair cut. It took about 30 for a simple man cut, not bad.
Only $ 18+tips for men’s hair cut only (no post wash).

Tony? Definitely over rated! I have had better hair cut. I decided to try him out today. Not as happy.

Found this place through Unilocal based on a previous reviewer from Jersey that said he was extremely satisfied. I share his satisfaction!
I finally made the leap to never going to traditional barber shops and I’m never looking back.
Tony absolutely knows what he’s doing, and the price cannot be beat (includes a hair wash with excellent shampoo)!

I got a haircut, repair treatments and blow dry style today by Angela. She is awesome. Even though I told her I didn’t want to cut too much, just relayer and trim, she helped me appreciate the damage of my hair condition. She cut more than what I originally wanted but still managed to keep the length and my ombré in tact! I am super happy with it and my hair is so soft, I can’t stop touching it, plus it looks so beautiful!!! She was very understanding of my needs and wants!

Found this place for my fiancé. He’s been seeing the same stylist for almost a decade, and it was hard for him to come to terms with the fact he had outgrown her style.
I called and made an appointment (as suggested by Unilocalers), and while Tony seemed busy, he was still relatively flexible.
My guy left with his 12^th grade hair, and came back looking like a sexy grown up! All for $ 3 cheaper than he usually paid. Thanks Tony!

Finding a great barber/​stylist has always been a chore. For years, I would just cut it myself to save the trouble of going to a new barbershop and leaving disappointed.
I was fortunate to find Tony & Co through Unilocal,so I decided it was only right that I give them a review to assist others who are in need of a great hair studio.
Admittedly, I went hoping Tony would be available to give me a cut based on all the rave reviews… but he wasn’t in the shop. So I took my chances anyways. Before Angela started my cut, another young lady gave me a complimentary wash first.
Angela is a suberb stylist. Even though I just got a «traditional» mens cut, I don’t want to peg her as just a barber because I can tell she does more than just cut hair. She cut my hair exactly the way I described and it was quick, but precise. I was on my lunch break, so quick and painless is what I needed. I’ll definitely be coming back to this place.

As with most people… I’m very picky with my hair. I’ve tried a few Asian salons in Rockville and I always felt a little underwhelmed for the price I paid ($ 20-​$ 25 in Rockville is average). A friend told me about Tony’s in Ellicott and I decided to give him a shot.
After having Tony cut my hair a few times, I refuse to go anywhere else (okay except for haircut places in New York City). He cuts hair very methodically and precisely. The lines are very clean and it’s very even. He does a great job at transforming what you describe in words to the actual style on your head. The best part? His prices are GREAT.
I highly recommend Tony, and I highly recommend making an appointment because you will rarely (if not never) be able to walk in and get him.

If you’re a guy, this place is pretty darn legit. $ 15 for a men’s haircut with a complimentary shampoo wash. You won’t be getting the garbage haircuts from those chain salons; rather, you’ll walk out very satisfied with a stylish new look.
Word of advice: Make an appointment with Tony only. He cuts men’s hair superbly well. He’s very detail-​oriented and he can cut whatever hairstyle you request.
In addition, Tony & Co Hair Studio One has awesome hours, which would accommodate most people’s busy schedules.
