«If Wishes were Ponies, all Kids would Ride» The Peppermint Pony, located in Howard County MD offers fun and fantasy for the younger compassionate child — bringing faeries and unicorns, pirates and princesses, cowgirls and boys to your doorstep! We supply an exclusive party entertainment package for the discerning hostess who wants her child to have a safe, fun party of a lifetime — including pony rides, world-​class face painting, miniature horses, and balloon twisting. Our ponies are the most beautiful in the country. Our entertainers come dressed to party in costumes, music will be played and merriment made!

Our parties are meant to be highly interactive between parent/​child/​pony, and our animals are alert, kind and very friendly. They love to pose for pictures and think the are the guest of honor. Carrot feeding time is part of every party, and we will be happy to set up ponies and family for that perfect photo for the memory books.

We welcome anyone who wants their children to learn to love, respect and appreciate animals to consider using us for their birthdays or events. We can do mini horse nursing home visits and we can host one on one Unicorn encounters too. It’s never to early or late to enjoy a closer and more intimate experience with one of mother nature’s greatest treasures — the horse.

History

Established in 2007.

The Peppermint Pony began in the heart — when a Girl was raised without the means of getting that very special pony… yet grew up all around beautiful ponies that were out of her reach. When the Girl grew up to be a woman with two children and a refuge from domestic abuse — out of that despair, The Peppermint Pony was born. Fantasy can be a healing balm. The Woman would share more than just ponies — to share the inspiration borne of a childhood spent at The Enchanted Forest, and a love of the Maryland Renaissance Festival.

Now, the family is nearly grown and we are a family business — artists all — and live to bring our enthusiasm and talents to you and your family. Each year we tweak and enhance our themes, and add special details that only an owner-​operater can do.

Business Owner

Angela is the owner and creator of the world-​renowned The Peppermint Pony. She grew up in Howard County, as a musician and artist and horsewoman. Being avid Howard Countyy 4-​Her and Pony Clubber, and a founding member of the Glenelg High School Band system as a child ignited and fostered an intense desire to be number one and a dedication to excellence. Following a dream, a dream of the most beautiful things and the most special and long-​lasting memories a child can possibly have, has led to a business that has brought pleasure to thousands, and inspiration to other entertainment businesses world-​wide.

This web site is ineffective, the host is very nasty. I paid my booking fee of $ 155 and the owner/​agent could not instruct me how to book an event. The form lacked a send function to close the transaction.
One of the worst experiences booking an event in my LIFE!

I was feeling down so my husband surprised me with a party from The Peppermint Pony! Angela was a lovely presence and all my neighbors and their kids came out to see what was going on in my front yard. The mini horses are the cutest thing.

When my grandson was six he had his first Peppermint Pony birthday party. I thought that he would outgrow them but at age 12, having had a Peppermint Pony Party every year, he has not. I wish I had more grandchildren to enjoy Miss Angela’s parties. The happy photos on the website tell the stories.
These parties are not just for little girls. Boys like the cowboy fantasies as much, if not more, than girls like the princess thing.
Angela and her talented helpers have done some durn good painting on the budding cowboys. My grandson doesn’t like having his face painted so she gives him arm «tattoos» instead. Her creativity is amazing.
Miss Angela is not only a professional party provider but also an experienced horse person. Her stringent safety rules are for the protection of your children and their friends. Everyone wants to have fun.
SAFETY is a priority. These parties are not the kind where you drop off your child and go shopping. There are large animals at these parties, not plushy toys. A parent must be present and in charge of her/​his child at all times.
I would not hesitate to recommend Peppermint Pony Parties and have wondered who had more fun, me or my grandson!

This past weekend, I hosted a Peppermint Pony party for my daughter’s birthday, and it turned out wonderfully! My 4 year-​old daughter was so surprised and very excited to see ponies in our yard. She even asked if we could keep them!
The owner, Ms. Angela, was very friendly and happily answered all of my questions (and I had a lot of them!) — from the time I booked the party roughly 7 weeks in advance, right until the event ended. The kids really enjoyed feeding carrots to the ponies and grooming them. The photographer with Ms. Angela was also super nice and had a great sense of humor.
What was especially nice was the face-​painting. All of the kids loved the artwork– everything from «princess tigers» to «rainbow monsters» (the kids ranged in age from 1 year-​old up to my 12 year-​old niece). The work was absolutely beautiful, professionally done.
As far as pricing, I got really excited and went overboard, booking the longer, full-​service party package, but Peppermint Pony offers other options that are very affordable (While I initially regretted spending so much money on a 4 year-old’s birthday, in the end, the longer party– which also included photography– gave all of the kids more chances to ride and allowed everyone enough time to have their faces painted and groom the ponies). If Ms. Angela is still running the Peppermint Pony business 3 or 4 years from now when my younger daughter is old enough to remember and appreciate the event, I will definitely be doing this again. I would also recommend a Peppermint Pony party to others. Lots of fun, nice people, and beautiful and patient ponies and mini-​horses.

My daughter attended a Peppermint Pony party in August and loved it. The face painting was amazing. It was te most beautiful face painting my daughter has ever had — no joke.
The beautifully adorned ponies were simply magical. The party hostesses were great with the kids and made the day magical for all of the princesses.
I heard from other attendees after the party that they would love to book a Peppermint Pony party!

In response to the owners comments, it was a very small party of maybe 8 children, all of whom were in one small area and being directly supervised by their parents, and I did not see any poor behavior by children like she mentioned. What I did see was the proprietor being unpleasant and downright mean to kids there, so only hire them if that’s how you want your guests to be treated.

The Peppermint Pony is a great children’s party idea. The ponies are adorable and well behaved. Miss Angela is a fantastic face painter and takes wonderful care to make sure the children are safe around the ponies. Parents should be prepared to enforce safety around the ponies as well. If you follow the rules and instructions on the website, your party should be a fantastic experience.

Let me first say I didn’t have a party with the Peppermint Pony, but after looking at the website, even though all the rules and regs were almost too much, the pictures looked cute and it’s really all about my kid having fun. So with that I contacted TPP. After an email question where she asked me if I had even read her page I was slightly turned off but whatever. Refer back to where I said it was all about my kid. So TPP and I were in email conversation about where to park the truck and she abruptly told me she wouldn’t do my party after I brought up a suggestion. She also stated she’d hate to put me in financial distress. Ha! I’ll take my $ 500+ dollars elsewhere. Actually it won’t be that much with someone else. Customer service over email was terrible — I can’t imagine how she’d trick my kid and guests!

First of all, performer showed up more than 5 minutes lates– when i called her, her excuse (not an apology) was that she hadnt seen her assistant in a while and they «had been gabbing». 5 minutes might not seem like a lot, but had been told they would show up a few minutes early since the entire part was only an hour and a half. Several adults at party commented that performer was rude to them and the children. Performer left in the middle of face-​painting several of the kids in order to walk around and take «pictures for her website.» Most importantly, the performer was incredibly harsh with my special needs cousin. i would not have hired her had i known she was so ill-​equipped and unwilling to demonstrate sensitivity to a member of my family.
the horses and helper were very beautiful and kind and I cannot fault them. The main proprietor is not someone i would pay that amount of money to to interact with children.

We had a Peppermint Pony party at my sister’s house in Baldwin, MD for our daughter’s 2-​year birthday. It was absolutely perfect! The ponies are beautiful, gentle creatures — and you can tell that they are well cared for (unlike some ponies we saw recently at a fall corn maze). The kids had a blast riding and grooming the minis. Angela does an amazing job with face painting, and Victor is an expert balloon twister. Everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend The Peppermint Pony to anyone.
