Both of my sons have attended Clarlen [2nd son is still there]. I chose Clarlen in part because of its close proximity, but mainly because of its traditional play-based style. There are no in-class computers, and the kids have ample time for free-play and exploration in addition to more teacher-guided activities. The teachers are great, and Ms. Helen organizes nice field trips and special visitors for the kids. The optional enrichment and extension activities, such as extra day, Lunch Bunch, and Tic-Talk Spanish, make the experience very personalized and flexible. I highly recommend this program. Note: This program is not completely secular though it is non-sectarian. While I do love it, I encourage you to discuss any concerns with Ms. Helen and the teachers.

My three children attended preschool at Clarlen for a total of 6 years. We loved the experienced, nurturing teachers. My kids all have great memories of the loving teachers, creative variety of art projects, the fun songs they learned, and good friends they made during their years at Clarlen. I liked the attention to kindergarten preparation topics including, cutting skills, colors, numbers, shapes, alphabet and pre-reading skills, and social skills. There is also the very special, personalized Mother’s Day gift made in the four year old class which I will always treasure. Thank you, Claren teachers!
