State Line Liquors

While it’s not my go-​to liquor store, I like State Line. They have a wide array of wines and coupons frequently. The one thing they could do would be offer a free wine tasting every now and again but I guess they don’t need to bring in any more business? Eh.

I’ve been here a few times and they have an awesome selection of beer and you can make a pick 6 from any beer! The staff is awesome and really know their stuff about alcohol. State Line Liquors is definitely my favorite liquor store. I absolutely recommend it if you are in the area and love to mix and match craft beer.

The douch bag employee’s are all rude I personally don’t drink wine but needed to get some for a dinner so I asked a few questions and was given a half assed answer

Easily the BEST wine shop outside of NYC and DC due to its selection, knowledgeable staff, and ability to source great wines at fair prices. Additionally, the beer selection is among the best period in the US.

Randomly stopped in here driving to Washington DC. It is located right off of interstate 95. This place is large and the selection is great. I got some great help from one of the employees and we were able to find a wine I wanted that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else in the area. I stocked up and was back on my way down the highway. Cheers!

Right off I-​95 between Philly and Baltimore on the state line of Maryland and Delaware, this looks a like redneck gas station shop, but enter and it is like a miniature Total Wine. You can get a freaking shopping cart to go around and go through thousands of beers. Enormous selection of Italian, Danish, Swedish, New Zealand, British, Canadian, and Belgian beers. Loads of locals. Everything from Jolly Pumpkin to Timmermans Oude Geuze, Pausa Café one-​offs, Evil Twin and Mikkeller collections, Moa, Dieu du Ciel, New Belgium, The Bruery. I actually found some very difficult to find beers here like Bruery Tart of Darkness, B. Nektar Miel de Garde #1, Domaine Pinnacle Ice Cider. They have a large glassware selection in that far back as well. Great wine, Scotch, vodka selection as well. Found some mid-​range Sauternes here. Crazy place– definitely worth the quick stop. Prices were not bad at all– very reasonable compared to somewhere like Perfect Pour. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

I always go a little out of my way to stop here when traveling up 95. Great selection of mikkeller, always have stillwater, perennial and against the grain. Sign up for the club. You won’t regret it!

This place is so great, I had to come all the way back from Germany to revisit it! The selection of craft beer bottles is great, but that’s not where State Line really shines. Their beers on draft (for growler refills) are amazing! I mean they are really the best I’ve ever seen, with probably around 10 – 15 beers available for you to top yourself up on. And they rotate them frequently as well and will give you free tastes of their offerings. The staff knows what’s up and will recommend you something that fits your taste. The only downside to this whole deal is that it’s pricy but that’s basically a given when you’re dealing with craft beer.

Another great liquor store in the Elkton/​Newark area! However, what really sets this one apart from all of the others is their AMAZING and EXTENSIVE selection. I am a HUGE fan of their make your own six pack option. It is a great way to sample a variety of beers at once. My boyfriend and I love to go here and pick and choose which beers we are going to try. They also carry a ton of harder to find beers. They also have a great wine selection and liquor selection.
The other main thing that sets them apart that I think is legit the best feature of this store and any store in a50 mile radius– THE CHEESE AISLE !!
They carry 75 different varieties of cheese, including goat and sheep cheese. They have a black truffle cheese that is particularly to die for. If you want awesome cheese, look no further than State Line, and while you’re at it just head to the back and grab a delicious wine to go with.

I live in Delaware and go out of my way to buy my liquor from these guys. Today I went in and asked one of the employees if they had a very rare beer I have been looking for. They said they will be releasing it at 3pm. So at 2:45 I came back and they said it would now be released tomorrow instead and took mine and my friends contact info. We decided to shop around anyway. Minutes later we see them go into the back and hand out 6 packs of the very same beer they claim they coudn’t sell until the next day. Needless to say I will now be buying my expensive beer and bourbons elsewhere and will tell my friends that shop there the same.

One of the absolute top 5 beer stores I’ve ever been to.
AMAZING selection and really good prices. Most of the beers are already on sale, you don’t even notice it until they ring you up.
They have beers from all seasons, I was able to pick up winter lagers during summertime. If you like cider and ginger beer, they have an ENTIRE AISLE dedicated to that. The prices were excellent. I ended up spending about $ 80 bucks, got 4 cases, 2 six packs and a bunch of bottles.
Also, they have a great selection of pint classes, from pretty much EVERY brewery around, and most are reasonably priced from $ 2 – 3 a piece.

State Line Liquor is no joke. This place has it all. Recently they added some 20 taps for growler filling so get on in there and get yer growler on. Beer and wine tasting every Friday during happy hour 4 – 7 usually. Staff is cool and always there to help. They even have a frequent boozers club where you can add up points on beer purchases. Doesn’t apply to liquor though. Prices are outstanding as well. When I lived in Baltimore I’d get the delicious Victory Golden Monkey liter bottle for about $ 11. State Line slings ‘em for $ 6. Holler at it, Hon! This place is gonna hook you up.

Wow. Phenomenal selection of beers from all over the country. I came in looking for local beers to bring back to California with me and ended up in a great discussion with the guys who worked there on east coast vs. west coast breweries. They are very knowledgeable and everyone I spoke with was super nice. There is a tasting area in the back that you can also get growlers at. I also like how you do not have to purchase the entire 4 or 6 pack, that you can do single bottle.
There is also wine and spirits here, but the craft beer selection is superb.

State line Liquors is a pretty cool store. I’ve generally just come here for my beer needs but their selection of wine and liquor seems fairly large.
When it comes to beer they have quite the selection. Multiple cold cases of beer, racks and shelves of different varieties, specialties, and one offs. If you love beer you owe yourself to come here and check it out.
Recently when I was in, they had put a growler station in the back. This may have been up for a while or here since I first came here, but it’s the first time I have noticed it. Their prices aren’t too bad either. The nicest thing is that they sell 32oz growlers, which is awesome when you don’t want to or can’t finish off a 64oz. The down side is that you have to use their growlers.
They also have a discount card that works on bottles!

This is hands down one of the best beer stores I have ever been in bar none, and I have been to MANY all over the United States.
State line at first glance looks like a typical run of the mill keg store from the outside. However, once you enter you notice a very vast selection.
Coming from the Washington DC area the prices here are very reasonable, in fact they are a down right bargain. There’s lots of local offerings and when it comes to the US craft section there is a fairly good choice, but also many things that you can get elsewhere. However, the store has expanded and you can find a huge amount of variety.
Where the place really shines though, is the imports, where many people dont seem to be shopping. What is particularly exceptional is the Belgian selection. There were many Belgian beers here that I have never even seen anywhere else in my shopping travels all over the US, it is very extensive. Also there were quite a few things here that normal beer geeks would easily snatch up. To come here is probably a bit out of the way, so lots of these things sit here. The foreign selection is also extensive in Italian, English and some good decent Germans.
Finally the last thing is the service. I had staff come up to me constantly asking if I needed help or if they could look for something for me. I have all my tools in hand so, luckily I was good. Finally then, they carry it all out to my car. How great is that.
The place is really worth going to once in awhile to find many different brews to try, even if it is truly out and remote. I have bought so much great beer from this place it isn’t funny, even obscure stuff I think will never be around show up here.

This place. Man oh Man this place.
We were in Wilmington, DE visiting some family and my guy’s step-​mom, whom adopted bourbon as she became familiar that it was one of the only ways to keep our attention, suggested we take a road trip to this place because she knew the family that owns it.
We pulled up to a little building, all alone. I was a bit hesitant, but in our experience whiskey-​hunting, sometimes the older, more run-​down places are the most successful trips we have… and boy do I swallow my initial impressions because this place delivers.
We walked in on a mission for whiskey — we found shelves of interesting things: quinoa whiskey to rarer stuff that is hard to get your hands on. They do a few barrels for their stock — we picked up a Four Roses Single Barrel that they selected to finish for their store — (which we got to taste before buying!). We found a few more bottled to bring home — and while we didnt have time to pursue the wine or beer, both selections on hand looks robust.
We met a few of the staff members and two of the guys that partner-​own this place… both have different areas of expertise (one beer and hard-​liquor, the other wine) — and were able to chat both up and immediately knew how knowledgeable they were. When we went to check out, prices were on point with the deals we are getting in other states/​places — so definitely think this place is an absolutely gem!
Wish it was closer to us, because I’d frequent the tasting room in the back…

Ridiculous selection. I have never seen a liquor store with such a selection. Top shelf liquors, rare brews, and extensive wine list. It was my first time in the store and I just walked around, marveling and trying to think of things that they couldn’t possibly have (they had almost all that I could think of).
I was able to find a bottle of Plymouth gin and Blanton’s bourbon, neither of which are holy grails, but have been hard for me to find.
They have a whirlpool bath that will chill your bottle of wine in seven minutes or less. Even have a nice cheese selection.
Growlers are also now available in the back.
I wish every liquor store was like this one.
