History

Established in 2013.

The history of tattoos began over 5000 years ago and is as diverse as the people who wear them. In 1991, a five thousand year old tattooed man ‘ötzi the ice man’ made the headlines of newspapers all over the world when his frozen body was discovered on a mountain between Austria and Italy. This is the best preserved corpse of that period ever found, the skin bears 57 tattoos. And as long as people have had tattoos they have been trying various methods to remove them. Some early forms of tattoo removal included the injection or application of wine, lime, garlic or pigeon excrement.

Christopher and Dr. Gwendolyn Yates founded A Change Of Art Laser Tattoo Removal in 2013 with the expressed intent on helping those who wanted to push the reset button on a particular chapter in their lives. Dr. Yates, a board certified physician, has gained a reputation as a regionally renowned expert in skin care. She founded and operated a successful MedSpa in Howard County. Md. for 5 years. Christopher brings over 15 years of medical device sales and marketing experience in his role as clinic manager. Together they combine a thorough understanding of the wide varieties of skin types that they treat along with the science behind the technology used to treat those different skin types. They believe strongly in delivering a high-​end customer service experience in a relaxed and friendly setting.
