The Cheat River Lodge is a unique privately owned getaway located on the Cheat River in the Monongahela National Forest six miles east of Elkins, West Virginia. The lodge and cabins are situated along the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River. Whether a naturalist, adventurist, or a sightseer, there are many interesting places nearby to explore that offer year round adventure.

History

Established in 1984.

The Cheat River Lodge Properties offer variety of accommodations with several comforts of home. Nestled below 4,000 foot mountaintops, the various properties are within a stone’s throw of the Cheat River at an elevation of 2500 feet. The Cheat River Lodge was acquired by Joe and Roxye Marshall in 1984. Currently, six unique cabins have been added as vacation rentals. The cabins range from riverfront to mountain, log to stone, and historic to contemporary, but they all have a private hot tub! The Cheat River Lodge and the Marshalls have earned an excellent reputation for their hospitality which has been recognized by numerous travel guides and newspapers.
