World of Animals at Elkins Park

Not having any experience with World of Animals, I went online to research the vets who would be practicing in Elkins Park. Choosing a vet who demonstrates a genuine love for animals is very important to me. I was looking to book an appointment for my senior kitty, Bandit, whom I suspected had a tooth or gum issue.
After reading the vet bios, I loved that Dr. Sandra Platt and Dr. Tanya Kameneva were each pictured with their own beloved animal companions. After reading about Dr. Platt’s advanced training in dentistry and soft tissue surgery, I confidently booked a dental appointment for my Bandit.
I called and made the appointment with a young lady named Anna. She was very professional and kind. She patiently answered my questions. I felt like I was talking with a person who was very much «on top of her game». My first impression would later be substantiated when it came time to coordinate and book Bandit’s dental procedure.
My mom and I brought Bandit in for her appointment: The renovated office looked stunning: very clean, modern, and beautiful. We were warmly greeted by Anna (who I made the appointment with), Erin (who would later take Bandit’s vitals/​history) and Dr. Platt. We instantly felt very comfortable being there. We were especially lucky to meet Roxy, Dr. Platt’s gorgeous chocolate brown lab.
Another big plus is that World of Animals Elkins Park supports the «Red Paw Emergency Relief Team» whose flyer I saw posted at the front desk. (Note: Red Paw provides emergency assistance and «veterinary care to animals involved in fires and other residential disasters.») How wonderful, especially since Red Paw is one of my favorite rescue organizations.
During Bandit’s checkup, Erin checked her vitals and posed questions about Bandit’s diet, behavior and history. I appreciated her diligence in documenting all that we discussed. She handled Bandit with great care and gentleness. Dr. Platt spoke softly and sweetly to Bandit, carefully and thoroughly examining her from head to tail. It turned out that indeed, Bandit did have a tooth/​gum issue. It was very heartbreaking to see, but I was just relieved that her issue was now revealed so she could be helped. I scheduled a dental extraction appointment with Dr. Platt in whose hands I have complete confidence to fix Bandit’s dental issue so she could begin to heal and feel much more comfortable.
We were lucky to meet Greg (owner) while we were there. It’s obvious he’s also a big animal lover. We appreciated him taking the time to introduce himself and chat with us.
And the next day, Anna called me to ask how Bandit was doing — a gesture I really, really appreciate.
I’m very grateful to have this vet office so close to home so dental issues may be assessed within a short commute from my home. This Elkins Park office goes «above and beyond» to help clients — a rare and wonderful quality.

Dr. Lee is an excellent veterinarian. He is highly knowledgeable, gentle, and friendly to both pets and owners! Even though he has an accent, I can understand him perfectly. Others might be taken aback because he may appear to speak in a nonchalant and straight forward tone, but no worries. He genuinely cares about the well being of your pet and is a nice guy.
Be wary of the front desk receptionist, though. If you are paying with cash, double check the amounts given and change received when you are there.
