was recommended to this place by the owner of our cabin we stayed at. As soon as we walked in, we wanted pizza and it did not disappoint! Very charming and cool for a repurposed building. great place to watch a game as there was a TV within viewing from every seat!

So happy to have found this place. A nice selection of craft beers, big enough to share salads, and wood stove pizza with yummy toppings. Just a short drive from the hotels off the highway.

A great addition to Elkin, which is really going through a revitalization. This is a cool, industrial space with a lot of character.(They could upgrade some of the tables from«restaurant supply,» but that’s just me nit-picking.) Very friendly service, extremely knowledgable about their extensive beer selection, many of which are local NC brews. The food was very good as well. We started with the BBQ chips, which were quite salty, and didn’t have enough of the sauce on any of the cops under the top layer. They were cooked well and had a good flavor, though. They have a ton of wood-fired pizzas. D tried the White pizza-his only wish was for more broccoli. I had a salad with pulled chicken added to it. The chicken was extremely flavorful, but a little greasy. Overall, this is definitely a place we’d come back to the next time we’re in town.

Great place, fantastic bar food, laid back atmosphere with paper plates and washcloth napkins. We enjoyed the fried pickles, find onions, Thai Wings, Jerk Wings and Chili cheese fries. Perfect for football days!

Fantastic find! Heading up to Sparta to get a Christmas tree and so happy we found this spot. Food was amazing — mixture of burgers and pizza. Kids loved all of it. Great local beer and excellent fast service — thanks Quentin. Highly recommend this delicious place.

I’ve been back a couple of times recently and the pizza crust was much better quality, with the same great service and appetizers. Do not miss this place!

Stopped in today for a fabulous lunch(as usual). Much to my surprise was a new dessert menu. I tried the chocolate cake, it is amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try the salted caramel cheese cake and the mud pie. Thanks public house 222.

We were a party of 19(10 adults and 9 kids) last night for dinner. Although the menu is limited the food was great and the portions plentiful. Service was outstanding and there were great distractions(ping pong, shuffle board…) to keep the teens busy before and after the meal. Dessert was a hit for all! If you are in or around the Elkin, NC area this place is a must try!

What a great place! We stopped in on a Sunday night after a long day at nearby Stone Mountain State Park… So we were starving. Everything was delicious, fast, just as we had ordered. Pizza, salad, wings, burger, fried dough… Highly recommend it all!(And don’t forget to play a game of ping pong before you leave!)

Love this place! The food is great. Being from New York it’s hard to impress me with pizza, but this place was spot on! The beer list was great. The pizza was awesome, and the southern hospitality was very present. A must stop.

We live in NC but have never visited the town of Elkin. While passing through we chose to eat at 222 Public House on Main St. The atmosphere was pleasant, family or couple oriented. For an appetizer, we ordered the Spinach dip and home made chips. The spinach dip was one of the best we have had. The chips were over-cooked but eatable and the combination of the BBQ sauce and ranch was tasty. Our family ordered salads. The large is really large and can be shared. We ordered the 24 count wings. The server was very helpful in suggesting flavors. The portions were perfect and we had enough to take home. If you have room left after the meal, we highly recommend the sweet fried dough for dessert. It’s an unexpected surprise to top off a nice meal.

Delicious Stone fired pizza with a huge variety of gourmet combinations available, great sandwiches and lots of apps to choose from while you’re watching 13 big screen TVs. But the best part is that it is located inside an old tobacco warehouse that was renovated into and restaurant with huge banquet facility in the back(weddings or corporate event space) with it with historical features everywhere including exposed beams and original floors. A great place to hang out for all ages… classy yet casual. Located also in a historical downtown on East Main Street with plenty of parking.

I had lunch at 222 last week. Great vibe in this place; kind of a hippie-looking hangout. Great food — their pizzas are awesome, and the service is excellent. Not a bad beer selection, either! It’s nice to know there’s a good place to eat if I’m ever in the Elkin area, and I don’t have to settle for fast food. I’ll definitely be back!

Awesome find off 77– we stopped to watch a basketball game(go Kentucky!) and it’s definitely worth the short drive from the exit. Beautiful place and everyone was so friendly. So many tv’s, the friendly staff notices we were watching and put the volume on – always a hospitable move! And there’s an awesome game room in the back, shuffleboard, huge projector screen with comfortable seating, and an all brick and hardwood interior made for a cool setting. Food is good– would like to see a few more«bar» options added like a few more burgers and a buffalo chicken sandwich. But the philly, nachos, and draft beer selection were great! There was a brick fire pizza oven, so we’ll try that next time we’re traveling down 77.

Great beer selection and menu. Bartender was really knowledgable and made great recommendations. We had two kinds of pizza– crust was amazing and we loved the veggie one with truffle honey. Next time we go, we will definitely try nachos!

Friendly atmosphere. Got a lot of assistance on choosing a beer to include samples without even requesting. Pizza was a 10! Great. The kids chicken nuggets had more breaking than my kid likes but was able To scrape off. Awesome for kids.

In this part of rural North Carolina this is a 5-star experience. In fact, in Elkin or within at least 50 miles of here good luck finding a better bite. On the road from Charlotte to go trout fishing in Virginia we skipped off the Interstate to try this place and avoid the swarm of fast food grease pits and couldn’t have been more surprised. You’ve expect this place to be situated in a hip, cool area of Charlotte, not Elkin. What’s a great spot! 222 Public House excels at everything they do. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet inviting. There’s an extensive list of beers bottled and on tap and plenty of TVs to watch sporting events. Couple that with good service and friendly folks and it’s primed for any party. Their staple is the wood fired pizza. Because it’s wood fired in the brick oven stove the smokey flavor from the wood is embedded in the crust. It has a smokey campfire smell that you taste in the crust and some of the largest pieces of pepperoni I’ve ever eaten. The meatballs and sausage were packed with flavor. I started with a house salad which came with crisp, fresh bed of greens(not the cheap, iceberg garbage) and wonderful dressing. We tried the wings which were also very good(makes Hooters taste like microwave food) and the tiramisu was like your Italian grandma used to make without the strong coffee flavor. It was moist, fresh and we were full, but still ate it because it was that good. This place rocks!
