Zehnder’s Flash Yogurt & Snow has been a part of Elk Grove since the late 1990’s. Started as a «Family business», it still enjoys that same status under Parker who purchased the business in April of 2010.

Business Owner

Parker is originally from The Philippines. After working 12 years in Hong Kong she came to the United States to be with her husband. Parker worked a few years at Sea Food City as a cashier while attending class to become a Medical Assistant. After graduating the Medical Assistant course, she interned at Sutter Medical in Roseville and was subsequently hired full time.

When the opportunity to purchase Zehnder’s Flash Yogurt & Snow came about, Parker was really excited to give it a go.

What can I say? It’s pretty good shaved ice and frozen yogurt. Been coming here for a while with no complaints and definitely recommend the Hawaiian float.
However in this last time, I was told a minimum of $ 5 purchase needed to use credit or debit as a form of payment. Which puzzled me but I agreed, so I purchased some candy and when I go home later and eat it, it was A YEAR EXPIRED! I only paid a dollar and some change but still, this is not right. A WHOLE YEAR EXPIRED!!! But nobody really comes for the candy, so the main ice and yogurt are really nice on a warm summer day.

I loved this family ran local adorable little sweet shop since the first time we tried it! The young lady who is there most of the time is so sweet and friendly. My daughter and I are in love! She usually gets shaved ice and I can not get enough of their frozen yogurt (mixed) is the best and we share a pretzel, it’s perfect all year round

Zehnder’s is one of my favorite places to go on a hot summer day, their shaved ice is so delicious and their frozen yogurt is too! They always have unique flavors, I recommend this place to anyone, going on a date? Family with lots of kids? ZEHNDER’S!

I’ve been going to Zehnder’s for years! I usually get the fruit smoothies which are fruity and creamy which makes for a delicious combo. I’ve had the shaved ice a few times. Today I had a medium shaved ice, half pink lemonade and half fruit punch and it was amazing on a hot day. To top it off, the medium was under $ 3, so it’s a great deal.
If you’re hot and need a revitalizing refreshment and you’re in the Elk Grove area stop by Zehnders, you won’t be disappointed.
Lastly, it’s a local family owned business so show some support!

Zehnder’s may be a local treat, but not a local favorite. The menu is simple and ranges between pretzels and corndogs to shaved ice and frozen yogurt.
This rating is solely for the Hawaiian floats, which is a combo of shaved ice and frozen yogurt. The frozen yogurt comes in vanilla, oreo, and chocolate from my understanding. There is a variety of shaved ice flavors but not all are true to taste.
My friend ordered the Mango Passionfruit flavor. Vibrant in color, but indistinguishable in taste. I ordered Grape hoping you can’t go wrong with an artificial grape flavor. Ice wasn’t packed tightly so it shortly became grape juice + ice. The vanilla frozen yogurt lacked consistency and was as sweet as frozen custard.
I hope I’ve lowered your expectations for Zehnder’s so you won’t be as disappointed when you give it a try :-)

A classic local favorite! I was first introduced to Zehnder’s while I was in high school, about 12 years ago, and the yogurt is still just as good! Support small local businesses!
I’m a chocolate fiend and was hoping for fresh strawberries on top but they only have the glazed kind. That’s ok, the almonds were a nice crunch. I’m not much of a shaved ice person but I’ll give it a try at some point. For this visit, a junior size sugar free nonfat chocolate left me perfectly satisfied.

This place has been around forever, but my family just discovered shaved ice heaven! We were getting tired of all those frozen yogurt places around town and wanted something different, so we ended up here.
We’ve been here many times now and love the variety of flavors in shaved ice. Their «Hawaiian» shaved ice is what we usually get. It’s shaved ice with yogurt in the middle. Definitely something that everyone should try!
They have no indoor seating and you will have to stand outside to eat, if you plan on hanging around. Zehnders does have a little drive-​thru window, though. They are never too busy, so there is usually a minimal or no wait for service. Their prices are about the same as any other trendy place, but not unreasonable.
The lady, that always services us, is very kind and on the ball when busy. She even gave me a little candy gift, with my purchase, that read «Happy father’s day»! How awesome is that?!
On the hottest of days, swing by Zehnders and have a delicious cool-​me-​down.

Good shaved ice (not the super fine ice) and at reasonable price! Add some frozen yogurt to the mix and you have yourself a Hawaiian float! Only real bummer about this place is there isn’t anywhere to sit… Walk up or drive thru only. We’ll definitely be back!

Seriously, my favorite little frozen yogurt spot. It’s affordable and yummy! They offer a wide variety of options for any sweet-​tooth craving one might have. It’s a great little family-​owned business that supports other small-​businesses (check out all the business cards displayed in their window!). Customer service is awesome. And did I forget to mention, they have a drive-​thru!
Couldn’t ask for a better sweet treat destination, Elk Grove is lucky to have a little place like this.

Don’t eat yellow snow! .just kidding, the Banana shaved ice I got was delicious. I opted for the extra small because usually towards the end it gets too sweet, but surprisingly this wasn’t.wish I had chosen the larger size now.
Tiny place, right in the back corner of Skip’s Music. They also have a drive-​thru if you’re in a hurry. Don’t be too distracted with your dessert! Drive carefully!
I’ve been going here since high school. I spent the scraps of my allowance here whenever I walked by from school to my house. It’s cheap and they offer a lot of choices, not just for shaved ice flavors, but also for their yogurt selection.

Always wanted to stop by here after my boyfriend told me it was his after school spot in high school. Their prices are reasonable so that’s great for the local students! they have yogurt, smoothies, milkshakes, shaved ice. lots of options!
I went for a mini Oreo yogurt with cookie dough. Toppings are 75 cents extra but they aren’t stingy like other places. It was yummy! I tried my boyfriend’s shaved ice but it was eh, we have had better at many other places. But then again his only cost about a dollar!

My first time going here was yesterday. I never knew this place was here. You walk to the window and order. There’s also a drive thru window. Yogurts, snow ice, coffee drinks and etc. I ordered a mango passion fruit snow ice. It was too sweet. I really like it. I will return and try another flavor.

Wow. I would not have been here if my housemate didn’t spot it. He yelled my name and pointed out «Hey Tuan! Look I see yougurt. Didn’t you want some earlier?» Well hell yes I did haha. I asked to stop by for a quick peek and I’m glad I did. This small shop is family run. The ladies here are blissful. I looked at the Unilocal info for store hours and noticed it was 10 minutes past closing time yet they were still greeting me with a smile and taking my order! :)) it made my day that they didn’t rush to close and ask me to come back another day.
This place is so small that you order right outside the open window. They also have a drive thru. The selection here ranges from shakes, smoothies, frozen yogurt, shaves ice and even hot beverages! I ordered myself a banana blast smoothie and got my housemate a chocolate yogurt with a few topping. They thought the yogurt is just okay. I loved my smoothie. I also found out that under the special shake, they have halo halo! If I didn’t already have one yesterday I would so buy it here. I guess this means I’ll be coming back here again to see how the halo halo is ^_^

I’ve only been here twice so far, but I love the convenience of the walk up and drive-​thru windows! The prices are really reasonable and the woman that works there is really nice. The first time that we went there, I ordered the halo-​halo, and it was not at all what I had expected. This was the first time that I’ve ever had frosted flakes in my halo-​halo! Needless to say, I didn’t like it and will stick to Ginelle’s Bakery for the authentic version of the dessert. Today I ordered the sugar free strawberry Hawaiian float (I think that’s what it was called). It was a medium version of their sugar free strawberry shave ice with vanilla yogurt underneath. So good! Since I go to the acupuncture clinic across the street from Zehnder’s, I think I may be there twice a week! Talk about dangerous! ;)

Glad we discovered this place. You can walk up to the window or they have a drive thru so you don’t have to get out of your nicely cooled car and into the heat.
They have snow and yogurt as the name of their business implies. They also have halo halo, which I would have picked, but I’ve had halo halo before, so this time I picked the Hawaiian shake since I’ve never had that before and it was really good. It reminded me of orange crème ice cream popsicles… remember those?
My kids loved it because they have «tiger’s blood» flavor…
Will definitely go back to try other flavors/​items that they have on their menu.

My girl friend and I have been going to Zehnder’s since before the yogurt craze when all of the fancy new shops with tons of different flavors and toppings sprung up on every corner. At Zehnder’s you do not pour your own yogurt and there is no place to sit. There is only a walk up window and a drive thru.
The ice cream is a little sweeter and creamier than most of the new yogurt shops so if you like your yogurt tangy, Zender’s will not be bursting your bubble.
What kept us coming back were the prices and the size of the portions. While other shops charge by the ounce which never ends up being cheap, Zehnder’s gave you gigantic portions at reasonable rates. I mean a huge mountain of yogurt for a rock bottom price. The portions were so large that finishing your yogurt was a monumental accomplishment almost on the lines of conquering Mt Everest. Unfortunately, the last time we went, the portions had shrunken drastically. To my immense disappointment and utter shock, Zehnders had literally turned my gigantic mountain of yogurt into a piddly little molehill. I can not even begin to tell you how completely devastated I was. I may have even shed a tear on my pillow that night.
