History

Established in 2008.

VisionCare Optometry took over Dr. Lee Greenwood O.D. in October of 2008. We have been enjoying meeting all our amazing patients who have been so dedicated to staying with this office.

Dr. Thuy H.

Business Owner

Dr. Thuy Ha earned her Bachelor of Science in Food Microbiology from the University of California, Davis and obtained her Doctor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She received advance optometric training in pediatrics at Boston Medical Center and New England Medical Center in the Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ha was also trained in ocular disease and geriatric eye care from Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Fresno and Aran Eye Associates in Miami, Florida. Along with providing thorough eye exams, Dr. Ha has special interest in fitting contact lenses and co-​managing refractive surgery. Dr. Ha is a native of Stockton, but now resides in Elk Grove since 2005. She is a member of the California Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society and the Elk Grove Chamber. When Dr. Ha is not practicing optometry, she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, snowboarding and reading a good book.

BEST optometrist in Elk Grove, the doctor, the exam, the staff and WONDERFUL selection of BEAUTIFUL glasses! I got gorgeous Jimmy Choo glasses and Juicy Couture sunglasses, Eye Optics missed out on my $ 725.00 dollars spent on quality eyewear. I have no problem spending the money on QUALITY merchandise, won’t settle for crap. Which is exactly what Eye Optics is. Go to Vision Care not Eye Optics for satisfaction.

I’ve been going to this optometrist for years and I’ve had great experiences but last year I didn’t get to see dr. Ha I saw another eye doctor out of no where I mean wouldn’t it be nice as a courtesy to tell the patient they are changing your eye doctor? Guess not at the place. Not only that their frame selection is very minimal I can’t find a frame that will fit my face and have been to this office more than a couple of times to get it to fit right in my nose and it just isn’t working and there is no refund! I paid over $ 500 for my frames even with my insurance.

Over all a good experience. I have been going here for about 8 years. The office is not fancy at all actually it is pretty old. But it doesn’t take away from the work they do and the variety of options in glass ware and frames. They are very accomodating with scheduling and making sure your eyeware is perfect.

Dr Ha and all of the office staff are great. This is the place to go for a friendly exam where you’re treated as a person and not a number. Dr Ha is very friendly and explains things to you and just doesn’t rush you out like some other doctor’s do.
It’s great that you get email and text message reminders for your appointments. Most of us are so busy that we don’t have time for voicemail.

Well I was happy with this office till now. I drive over 30 mins to come here cause my friend told me how great they are.
I understand that scheduling on a sat is very special and all and I accidentally missed my appt today due to being up all night with my newborn and slept through my alarm. Now I have to pay a $ 30 charge. So I rescheduled my appt and was informed I can’t have another sat for at least year. So I hung up and then realized, why drive out of my way and give my money to an office who has no understanding for someone overwhelmed with newborn? So I called back and cancelled and will find an eye doctor closer to where I live. I worked for a dental office and always waived the first missed appt as a warning, even if it happened on a sat, cause we understood things happen. We officially charged on the 2nd missed appt.
When I called back to cancel and tell them to Bill me they just said, ok thanks. Didn’t even try to keep me as a patient.
I also let my friend know and she too is canceling her appts and going elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised with my initial interaction with Dr. Ha. The office is clean and the staff is friendly, attentive and seems competent. Dr. Ha explained as she went along the exam and was friendly and warm.
We have been with another optometrist for almost 8 years and while he was friendly, he seems to be always in a rush and never really explained what he was doing nor what he found out. But the reason why we decided to find another opto was that we just had enough with his staff, an old lady who does not seem to care and finds excuses not to do what she is supposed to do, and a black dude who is friendly enough but promises a lot of things and then does nothing when its time to deliver.
Im glad we got Dr. Ha… hopefully its not a first time thing…

I hadn’t been to the eye doctor in a LONG time so I was a little nervous. Dr. Ha made me feel comfortable and spent plenty of time chatting with me and getting to know me before starting the exam. which. by the way, was a piece of cake.
I got contact lenses and Dr. Ha took lots of time making sure I was comfortable taking them in and out, asking if I had questions, explaining everything. I never felt rushed, I never felt like I was asking a dumb question.
If you’re looking for an eye doctor, please consider Dr. Ha. She’s wonderful, I will refer my friends and family without hesitation.

Before I meet Dr. Ha, I just couldn’t bring myself to wear contact lens. She was able to help me overcome my fear of touching my eye. I appreciated her patience and willingness to help me. Dr Ha and her staff are great. They are very knowledgeable and use very modern technologies. I also appreciate their concern for the environment by trying to be a paperless business. Dr Ha is very patient and explains all aspects of the examinations well. I also appreciate the fact that I dont have to worry about when my insurance eligibilty is available. I get email reminders every year and am able to set appointments online. I have been to many Optometrists over the years, but Dr Ha is the best!

VisionCare Optometry is a very professional and hip location in Elk Grove. Dr. Ha is very friendly and knowledgeable. She has helped me and my wife in making sure our eyes are working the way they should be.
Tim in the office has a great sense for the frames and lenses. As someone who likes to take care of people, Tim goes above and beyond. I have recommended co-​workers and clients to VisionCare and they all have said that they are continuing with them as their provider.

Dr. Ha is wonderful! She is very patient and knowledgeable. I have been to another well-​known eye doctor in Elk Grove and Dr. Ha’s office beats them by a landslide! I was a first time contact lens wearer, who had to overcome touching my eye. Dr. Ha and her office manager, Tim were EXTREMELY patient with me, even staying a little after-​hours (5:00PM) to ensure that I was comfortable with the contacts. I would recommend this practice to anyone. Thank you to Dr. Ha and her staff!
