Established in 2008.

After working for and managing businesses in the Audio/​Video world for 25 yrs that cared more about making a quick dollar than satisfying their customers, Mike knew he could do better… So in 2008 he quit his job and opened up Mike’s Sound Solutions. Starting out with just himself and bringing on board the right crew that has the same passion for sound and exceptional custom service, he created a shopping experience above the rest! I went to Mike’s because of the great Unilocal reviews. I purchased a 200 dollar Alpine head, Acura stereo mount and line adapter unit from Crutchfield. I had everything I needed to install the unit besides the RCA adapter to run to the subwoofer amp. I call mike on the phone and he sounded super nice. He told me it would cost $ 75 and it would take about an hour. SOLD! «I thought in my mind» This sounded to good to be true.
I get to the shop and dropped my keys off and proceeded to the Mexican restaurant to eat and hang out for an hour. An hour and a half later I get to the shop and a guy named Dylan was still working on my car stereo. Three hours later waiting they’re finally done and no apologies and no «thank you for waiting». It was now 5pm and Mike didn’t even come out to the car to review the work that had been done; he was too busy with other customers. My mistake was to pay Mike $ 200 dollars before the job was even done. When I get home there was a loud white noise and absolutely no bass coming from the subwoofer. «WHAT THE HELL!».
I came back the next day and an associate named Mark agreed with me and said «the subwoofer doesn’t sound right». To get the subwoofer sounding better and remove the white noise Mike charged me another $ 50 to fix something that should have been done right in the first place. I WAS DOUBLE CHARGED!
In the end I paid $ 250 dollars to install an Alpine deck and run RCA wires to the sub which was originally quoted over the phone at $ 75 dollars. In the end the stereo sound OK and I feel I got robbed!
Lesson: next time you get your stereo installed by these guys don’t believe the 1st quote, don’t believe the time estimate and don’t pay until the job is done. I hope you have better luck than me.

I had a unique situation I had a warranty from a popular auto dealership and because of there lack of customer service I decided to go though another company to get my radio replaced. After a couple months of research I decided to go to Mike’s Sound Solutions and I’m glad I did. They were able to work with the warranty company that was being a little difficult and get me the radio I wanted with little hassle. The installation turnaround was really quick and clean and the radio looks as if it came with the car like the stock radio. I would suggest Mike Sound Solution for their professionalism and customer service.

If you are looking to purchase a car radio and have it installed Mike’s Sound Solutions is definitely the place.
I went in knowing that I wanted a car radio with Apple Play, but I wasn’t quite sure how Apple Play worked and if it would be worth it.
Mike (the owner) spent the time with me to thoroughly go through the features of Apple Play without pressuring me to buy it.
I was given an excellent price, fully installed and even had a back up camera put in. In fact it was such a good deal, I had them do both my vehicles.
The installation is professional and thorough. The folks working at Mike’s Sound Solutions take the same pride as their owner. The installers went through and demonstrated all the new features of my radio with me in the car at the completion of the job.
Even though they were busy, they did not rush me along. A++ Service!!!

This is the best and most customer friendly service shop I’ve ever been to. I’ve come to them with two different vehicles that have both been more then your average job. Mark is the man when it comes to knowledge and making sure I am making the best choice when picking out products and what I should be installing.
My first time I came in was to install a amp and two 10 inch subs in my 2010 Ford F150 Platinum. Mark was honest with me that it was not a simple job but that I was in good hands. I came to pick my truck up and the quality and sound far exceeded my expectations.
My most recent visit, I brought in my 2007 Acura TL type S. I again wanted my subs and amp installed. Mark took a look at what he was going to be working with. The stock cd player had stopped working as well as the hands free unit. So after sitting down and looking at my options, Mark had me set up with a new head unit and another amp in order to ensure great sound quality.
The other issue was the fact that he would have to build a custom piece for the face plate of the new head unit. This was no simple task, as the open space is not a normal shape. Mark walked me through the process when he had completed the custom piece. It took him multiple tools and steps in order to make sure this came out perfect and when it was done it was absolutely perfect! The amount of time and effort put into the jobs done at Mike’s Sound Solutions is second to none and I wouldn’t take any of my cars or refer anybody anywhere else for sound needs.
Mark also was able to refer me to a guy to do my window tint who actually came to the shop and tinted my windows while it was being completed at the shop.
I have more work needed to be done and know when I call Mark I will be taken care of and be very happy with the result.

The customer service here is excellent. I had a problem with the aux plug in my car, went to a few places before finally checking here. It was like finding a gem. Mark is the man who helped me, he was super quick and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. And they are affordable beyond compare to the other places I tried to get it fixed at! Any audio solutions I need for my car from here on out this is my spot! And my friends/​family will hear about this place too!

Mark, thanks for your reply back. it was about 1 month ago my wife took the car in. I am not planning on changing out my car stereo any more. I was disappointed because I bought my car stereo, all 4 speakers, and my viper alarm there before. I gave you guys good business and this was a lackluster, lazy response for a request to look at my car stereo. I don’t think the effort was put in to accurately figure out what was wrong with that car stereo. Moot point — I fixed it but I don’t appreciate the lack of effort.

I went to a couple places trying to figure out what was wrong with my car audio. Mike and another worker there were extremely helpful. I would have not found the problem on my own. The prices were affordable, they were more friendly than most places as well. I would highly reccommend this place.

While I did have some issues with the company, they did reach out to me and make it right. While we would all like to do a great job the first time, that doesn’t always happen.
Mike’s Sound Solutions is run by good people who care about how their customers are treated and I really appreciate Mark reaching out and working with me on getting things fixed. In the future if I need some work done, i’ll be coming back.

I got lied to i called to buy some speaker wire for a specific gauge when i drove all the way to elk grove they had 0 none nada fucking wire that i needed smh i ended up getting a different kind of wire because i had drove all the way out there and i needed speaker wire. It wasnt the kind i wanted but it will have to do. Customer service sucked i was waiting to get helped and another guy walks in and they greet him shake his hand and ask him if he needs help while i stood there like i was invincible smh yea it was that bad screw this place.

I am an old certified install /​technician, and it’s hard for me to trust anyone with my car audio needs. but I must say down at Mike sounds solution, they have change my tune. fast reliable and able to do custom work at fair prices. N even if you still want to do the install yourself they will sell you any and all parts needed for the install. I keep wanting to find a really bad place to do business so I can start leaving bad reviews and my profile doesn’t look like I just give high ratings to everyone.
Sadly, this wasn’t a good place to start. I purchased a new deck at best buy online, and when I arrived I conveniently found out that their installers aren’t here today. I figured I would do the install myself since I was going from an old pioneer deck to a new one. Low and behold pioneer updated their wiring harnesses, and I don’t know a damn thing about car audio. I called Mikes (just down the street from best buy) and they told me to come down.
Despite it being a busy Tuesday after a holiday weekend, they were able to get me in quickly and rewired the harnesses for a next to nothing cost. In fact when I pulled my car into the bay I went right next door to ocean fish&chips and ordered takeout, and when I got my food and came back out the car was done.
The job was obviously fairly easy, but for someone not familiar with car audio, the fact that mark and Justin were pleasant on the phone and in person and did what I needed in a timely manner in a friendly inviting atmosphere is what got me to write this review. I recommend this shop not just to Elk Grove residents, but anyone from Rocklin down to Stockton looking to get a professional job done effectively and with a friendly staff.

Had a great experience with Mark, replacing the old radio in my 14-​year-​old sedan with a nice Pioneer NEX. He did a fantastic job of keeping things in perspective, since my car was only worth a few thousand dollars and I didn’t want to spend more than a fraction of that on the old car. Still came out with a terrific unit that brings it into the 21st Century, sound-​wise and technology-​wise. I went from a CD changer /​cassette unit to in-​dash GPS, Bluetooth, and HD radio in one step. Thank you Mark!

I just want to share my experience and deep down I just want to say thank you mike! Not only did he hear me out about horible experience at a different audio shop (west cosst audio) and a dealership, he also was kind enough to help me out with the installation of my old radio and gave me advice on how I should stand up to the horrible finace department fiasco. It’s hard to find ppl you can trust in the automotive industry but, if your looking for car audio/​alarm bells and whistles type deal I recommend coming here first!

Mike’s is awesome! He definitely goes the extra mile with customer service. I’m coming to him for all my car audio! I needed a replacement remote for my alarm and it took less than 10 minutes at a reasonable price. I had an older remote and he was the only one locally that had one.

My car wouldn’t start at a business next to Mikes and I walked over to ask if someone could take a look for me and Mike ask for my keys and went to take a look then called of his two employees over and they checked my battery tried to charge it and then figured it must be my starter so AAA came and towed it off.
I was very impressed by his attitude and willingness to help me. I would highly recommend his business.

Horrible experience on my Motorcycle and SUV, these guys are totally inexperience and my Speakers and Amp blew, and they continue to charge extra, and blame me for buying my Stereo and Amp at Best Buy, they said, if I purchase from them, the same stereo it would work. I have exposed wires under my seat, the Bluetooth connection does not work. stereo shortage, unprofessional workmanship. Mike the owner, just a fast talking scam artist will charge you triple the average install price, he claimed he has high overhead, and charge me $ 1700 for a stereo and amp install. After my 7th visit, they finally figured it was their fault, improper wire connection, and they also used the wrong adapter for the amp, no apology or discount. these guys are scam.
