My son attended and my daughter attends. My wife and I are very involved and partner with my child’s teachers. That said, I find KAMS to be an excellent school.
The Principal and his staff are conscientious, caring, professional, and by-​the-​book. They are a part of the excellent Elk Grove Unified School District, so they have those resources at their disposal as well.
The athletics and teams are top-​notch, and the students, by and large, are great people. I will take a bit of issue with parents, though. That, and the fact that the running track isn’t surfaced are my two biggest frustrations about this school.
As with most things in life, you get out of it what you put in to it. If you’re a helicopter parent who feels you must be three to protect and defend your child no matter what, you won’t have a good experience. If you engage, partner with the staff and faculty and become a team to educate and develop your child, then perhaps not.
