Decided to finally come in and get the last two of my wisdom teeth pulled since they had been bothering me. My brothers and sisters have had their procedures done by him as well so I kind of had an idea as to what I was to expect.
Made an appointment and I didn’t know that this first appointment was just to schedule the actual procedure if I was going to be slept.
Dr. Fong was so nice in recommending certain anesthesias and my problem was the the injections didn’t work on me and he asked when I wanted my top the out and I told him today my tooth hurts. In approximately 5 minutes he had me in a chair ready to take it out.
I’ve had the worst experience a few years back and I started getting anxiety. He did have a problem indeed like I said he would I have no idea why the shots don’t really work but as he was taking my tooth out I didn’t feel it and before I knew it, it was all over and I didn’t even know my tooth was out until he told me!
He prescribed me medication and I walked out 100% normal.
Crazy thing is I didn’t even swell up like a chip monk! And I’m healing so great! I have never experienced such a smooth procedure like this one I recommend him so much!

Dr. Fong is great!
I am fortunate to have only one wisdom tooth and knew that it was time to have it removed. I found Dr. Fong through Unilocal and my own research. I work for the state board and therefore is very picky about who I go to.
Dr. Fong exceeded my expectations. During my consultation meeting, he realized that the x-​Ray given to him by my primary dentist was wrong (oops on their part). He quickly retook my x-​Ray and explained my two options (local anesthesia or sedation). I was hesitate to take the local anesthesia route but Dr. Fong encouraged me. I’m glad I did because it wasn’t bad at all and saved me $ 300.
The operation was painless for the most part. I felt a pinch during the insertion of the numbing gel through needles and felt some push and pull during the process, but it’s really not that bad!
The worst part is probably post-​surgery. After the numbing gel wore off, I immediately felt pain. Good thing Dr. Fong prescribed me two painkillers. Dr. Fong did call me to see how I was doing but I was already knocked out by then. Nonetheless, I appreciate his kind gesture.

My dentist referred me to Dr. Fong for the removal of a wisdom tooth. I was kept waiting for about 15 minutes, during which I enjoyed a conversation with his assistant. Dr. Fong finally arrived, asked if I had any questions, answered the one I had and got to work. No sedation options were discussed or offered. The tooth was out in about 5 minutes. Dr. Fong wrote a prescription for two medications, neither of which were explained, handed me a packet of gauze and was gone.
Neither Dr. Fong nor his staff has called to follow up on the appointment or to «see how I was doing.» I’ve heard from other patients and from Unilocal that he’s a very caring doctor, but it seems to me that he’s eliminated those finer points from his practice. My car has received more solicitous concern over an oil change than I received over my tooth from Dr. Fong. Yes, he was competent at removing a tooth, but this was no five star event.

Had my two top wisdom teeth removed at 8:00am this morning. Right when I walked in I was greeting warmlu, even if outside it was freezing. I was called in, made comfortable, they gave me oxygen. I closed my eyes and a what felt like a few seconds later, I woke up with two missing wisdom teeth! The pain was non existent and I went home slept off the anesthesia and woke up with a small pain that was taken care of by some ibuprofen and a nice cup of soup. Dr. Fong just called, to personally check up on me to see if I was in any pain, had abnormal bleeding and if I had any questions. This place is personal and professional at the same time.

When I discovered that my dentist didn’t put me out for implants I searched for an oral surgeon. Dr Fong was highly rated in Sac Magazine. I made a visit to Dr Fong’s office but it was lunch time and the staff was out. The doctor came to the door himself, took me into his office and spent a great deal of time with me explaining the whole process of implants. He suggested that I go back to my dentist and get a clear understanding of the whole game plan. I am very grateful to Dr Fong for being so nice. I will be returning shortly for him to do the implants.

Like everyone else, I came here to have all of my wisdom’s removed by Dr. Fong. I remember being put on anesthesia and the next thing I know, I woke up at home with a swollen face. On a serious note, he does really care about his patients. He personally called me the day after the surgery to see how I was doing. That’s rare, and even if it wasn’t, to have him personally call and check up on you shows that he really cares about his patients. Thankfully, I’m done with my wisdom’s and will not be seeing Dr. Fong, but in the event that I need my other teeth removed, best believe I’ll be coming back to Dr. Fong!

I was referred to Dr. Fong two years ago for my wisdom teeth surgery — the «daily special» here, if you will. I was thoroughly impressed from the first appointment to the last. This guy is so professional, and better, he actually cares and takes his time to be very thorough.
He explained to me everything that would go down, step by step, and was extremely reassuring. He was honest with any possible side effects ans risks as well which I appreciated; some doctors talk up procedures like nothing ever happens. I went completely under and awoke on cloud nine. I liked that.
Having had braces before, my teeth were impacted and I did have complications as warned… however, he checked on me every day by phone, sometimes more than once, and even let me call his personal number with any questions or concerns. He refilled my pain prescriptions without hassle and was very sincere whenever I had to get follow-​ups. As far as surgery, which is never a good experience, Dr. Fong made it as comfortable as possible. I would recommend him to anybody.

First encounter made me feel how honest and trustworthy he is. My youngest son went in for a consult and Dr. Fong actually said that he did not think it might be necessary for his wisdom teeth to be removed. My son did say he felt the wisdom teeth were moving his teeth and did not want them to crowd and push since he had already done the braces thing. He made my son feel at ease about it all.
Going forward, I had paid the difference for the procedure that the insurance would not cover. Dr. Fong came out and said the extraction was easier and faster than anticipated and thus, the cost would be less. I could not believe my ears… most doctors and businesses would not be that honest and refund money back, especially after you paid. I tell this story to everyone and vouch for his integrity. Also, my son had not much pain and recovered very fast and was asking to play rugby a few days after, though Dr. Fong said he needed to wait.
My oldest son had his wisdom teeth extracted the following year. He is more anxious in a medical setting but Dr. Fong was patient and kind, making him feel comfortable.
I would highly recommend Dr. Fong for oral surgery to anyone. He is one of the best in Elk Grove/​Sac area and his staff is also very professional and friendly.

Dr, Fong was so great. My Son had his wisdom teeth out, and called to follow up with us the very next day. He ended up getting a lump that lasted a bit longer than usual and Dr Fong followed up several times and rechecked his mouth at no charge.
He is fine now and i’m very happy with his professionalism, and care.

I was referred to Dr. Fong by my family dentist, Dr. Tin of Villa Vista Dental (see my review of his practice!), and I have to say, I am very pleased with the results.
The consultation was quick and painless (much like the procedure itself). I was met with a smile and a handshake from Dr. Fong, who told me exactly what the procedure would entail, how he would approach it, how long it would take, and what the recovery period would be like. The consultation lasted much less than the 30 minutes to 1 hour I was anticipating.
When it came time for the surgery itself, removing two impacted teeth that had begun to descend by cutting through the roof of my mouth and extracting them that way, I was set up and ready for sedation in a matter of minutes. I hopped into the chair, a bib was put on me, a needle in my basilic vein. «So how fast is the anesthetic going to work?» «Oh you’ll feel it in a few minu-​…» Bam, I was out cold. Next thing I know, I’m out cold on the couch in my living room back at home with gauze in my mouth and little to no pain whatsoever.
The dressing on a wound came out later that same night and I freaked out. I had been given Dr. Fong’s cell number for emergencies, and by the time this happened, it was already around 12 or 1 AM, so I was really hesitant to call and wake him up, but I ended up doing it anyway. He was surprisingly cool about being woken up by a patient over a small piece of dressing that was supposed to fall out/​dissolve anyways. Huge brownie points in my book!
A week later, after finishing the antibiotics and having the suture dissolve and fall out on its own, I went into the follow-​up appointment. Dr. Fong took a quick but careful look at everything, and it looked like everything was exactly the way it should have been. With another handshake and a smile, I was out the door in less than 10 minutes. It’s been nearly a week since that follow-​up, and everything feels normal again, sans the two teeth that should not have been. Easily the most hassle-​free and pain-​free oral surgery I’ve ever had! Dr. Fong comes highly recommended for any oral or maxillofacial surgery for anyone in the Elk Grove/​Sacramento area!

Took in my father to get his tooth extracted since his regular dentist couldn’t do it due to his condition of multiple myleoma. Dr. Fong was very courteous about my fathers condition and treated him that day.
The price was little over the top since we paid cash… but great service our all.
Also called him after hours… told us to come to the office right away to take care of the issue. Very helpful and accommodating!!!

I’ve been looking around for many oral surgeons in the Sacramento area, but Dr. Fong was recommended by my regular dentist. We decided to go in and see what needed to be done and how much it would cost.
The staff is awesome, answering any questions one may have about the appointment times and operation. Dr. Fong came in and outlined the process as well as answered any questions.
Just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted… My mouth is still numb as I type this, but all in all it was a quick, mostly painless process (numbing needle). The operation took less than an hour (more like 45 minutes?).
Oh, I didn’t get sedation… only local anesthesia; it really isn’t that bad. =]

I’ve never been to an oral surgeon before, and hopefully I’ll never need to again. Dr. Fong and his staff are kind and efficient. I had to get my wisdom teeth extracted and him and his staff made it the easiest and quickest thing to do. I was quoted the prices ahead of time, and my surgery was done from start to me walking out of the office in 30 minutes. Dr. Fong called me himself the day after to ask me how I was doing, and I was given his personal cell number in case of any complications or emergency. A week later I went back in for a followup and I was out in 10 minutes. It hasn’t even been 2 weeks yet, but I’m almost completely healed and the process was not too painful. Definitely recommend!
