This place is awful and needs to be shut down. My daughter bought a dog for me who died in two months. The place smells awful, and the dogs appear to be neglected. It is s filthy environment for animals.

Excellent diversity of fish. Every week Whiteway Pet Store gets restocked. They also have lizards, cats, dogs and more. Although a cramped location they make good use of their available space. They run specials too. I purchased 5 African Cichlids for $ 20, a Pleco catfish, and a 300 gph water filter for less than $ 50. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly too. A nice shopping experience. I recommend Whiteway very much.

this place needs to be shut down… i sent the below email to USDA from ASPCA Animal Cruelty reporting.
I visited the Whiteway Petshop in Elizabeth New Jersey yesterday (950 Elizabeth Avenue)
The condition of this store is inhumane for both animals and employees.
The smell is horrendous; the poor circulation and cluttered environment is dangerous for both animals and employees that work there. The dogs, birds and cats are suffering. They are in dirty cages. They have way too many birds in one cage… the birds are screaming for help.
Please, please, please help them.

I have a cat, and the nearest Petco to Elizabeth is in Plainfield, so I was hoping Whiteway would be a good place to pick up food or other necessities when I was running low.
Not so much. It was evident that they had a lot of supplies for dogs and fish and also had quite a few different types of animals for sale (anywhere from reptiles to guinea pigs) but the cat population was definitely not represented well. They had one type of dry cat food, one type of wet cat food, and random toys and treats that were severely overpriced. However, the cat food they do sell is top of the line, California Natural, so that’s a plus… I guess.
Also, this place smells horrible and is evidently dirty – dirtier even than what you would expect from a pet store. So, if you’re desperate for California Natural cat food or really want a fish, go on over to Whiteway. If not, Shop Rite will probably do you better.

Bought a Keeshon 4÷1÷11 paid a good price. My biggest concern was the dogs health after reading so many poor reviews for «the pet company» i decided to try white way pet shop. The staff was very helpful, they also gave me free puppy food (bag and can) and a tube of vitamins. White way also offers a 14 day health guarentee (check consumer reports for «the pet shop» to read the horror stories). The next day i took my puppy to the vet, and i am glad to report she is a perfectly healthy keeshon. Overall i am very pleased with my experience there.
