Courtyard Newark Elizabeth

Very clean, friendly staff. Not a great view and you do get airplane noise but it is tolerable. We stayed here before a cruise and used the shuttle at the country inn across the street. This hotel appeared nicer than the country inn.

The best hotel in Elizabeth, but that’s probably because there’s slim pickin’s. The staff is nice and the rooms are clean. I’ve stayed at many hotels near EWR and this is a very good hotel considering the area. It’s a pretty new hotel, and near another Courtyard not far from it. Strange that there are two of the same hotels within a 3 mile radius. The café downstairs makes a mean roast beef and havarti sandwich. Definitely worth trying if looking for a place to eat. The hotel itself is quiet and is right across the street from the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall. Do not walk around here at night (even during the day is a bad idea). Newark and Elizabeth are not safe. High crime rates. Don’t make yourself a target.

Perfect for the pre or post EWR Flight. Rooms are clean and functional. Staff friendly and efficient. Airport shuttle is relatively reliable. Lobby bar and restaurant is ok for a late bite and a drink. Not a fancy place but it serves it’s purpose well when transiting the Newark airport.

The staff is extremely friendly and the quality of the rooms are above par. However, the major setback to the hotel compared to the others that are in the immediate vicinity is the lack of continental breakfast or kitchenettes in the rooms. Sure, if your lucky enough you can get one of the few small fridges and microwaves delivered to your room.
Again, compared to the other hotels with these amenities at the same price, this hotel is just that shy from a 5 star for me.

Not for the location, not for the quality but the attitude of the driver to the front desk employee even the manager. I’ve to stay in this hotel for my work due to a corporate contract with this hotel. They will not treat your employees with respect or dignity because they said your employees don’t pay the room. Not once but a few times to me. Not surprise they said to others as well. As a business person as well, I will not have a contract with anyone who will not respect my employees. Period! Forgive my narrow mind & I’m stubborn as well.

The staff are wonderful! Always welcoming and happy to help. They set the tone for a good stay.
Location. This hotel is not far from Newark International Airport and it’s located close to the highway. It is a short walk across the street from the amazing Jersey Gardens outlet mall! The perfect place to stay and get your shop on.
Food. The hotel has a decent bistro where they also serve Starbucks coffee. Close by (walking distance) are Ruby Tuesday and IHOP! There are also other food choices in the outlet mall across the street such as Applebee’s, Chili’s, Johnny Rocket and other options in the food court including Burger King, Popeye’s, And Sbarro to name a few.
Gym. Let’s just say at least they have one. It’s not the best and it’s not the worst. They have a few treadmills, an elliptical and stair stepper. They have dumbbells for weight training and that’s it. Enough to do some cardio and light weight training. It’s located on the first level next to the indoor pool.
Clean living quarters, which is extremely important! Comfy bed for a good nights sleep.
My hotel of choice when I come to Newark!

I’ll start with positives. Hotel is easy to find right off the highway. Check in was pleasant, upgrade was provided with beautiful view of the highway. Housekeeping was below average not only in my room, but the common areas too. The elevator floor (which is carpeted black) was in need of vacuuming. The hallways and entryways are very worn and in need of remodeling soon! The room was spacious but the beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on in a Marriott property. The towels were worn and had a grey tint. I think next time I will stay across the street.

No hot water this morning for a shower. When I called the front desk and asked if the hot water was out she replied «guess so». I said you guess so ?? She then told me she would find out and call me back. A half hour later I call down again and a different person said they will send somebody up to look at it. Nobody ever showed up. Nobody ever called to check on the situation. I called a third time to request a later check out because of all the waiting around we did for resolution. We had no choice but to take cold showers.
Upon checking out nobody asked how our stay was or even made eye contact with us.
The rooms were clean and quiet. The housekeeper that was working on the 5^th floor is really, really kind and did a great job.
The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were the worst foam pillows I’ve ever slept on.
It seems to be one of the better places to stay in the area for business but the weekend staff are not as competent as the weekday staff.

The hotel itself is really nice, but the staff is really rude annd unhelpful. The worst part is the van service to the airport is always late. The people here just don’t care.

This is a very nice 3 star hotel, but I’m bumping the rating another star because the hotel is kinda new and modern.
The rooms were clean and the beds were soft and comfy.
The Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall is also across the street, so it’s convenient to shopping.
There’s a Ruby Tuesday and an I-​hop within walking distance and of course the food court at the mall. Wi-​Fi is complimentary which is always a plus. The nice lobby and relaxing area also has computer terminals and printers available if you forget your laptop.
They have a free shuttle service that runs every 30 minutes, but be warned that the morning departures gets really full.
The trip to NYC also takes time, money and good planing. It will cost you about $ 30 round trip and takes about an hour and a half to the city.
