We drove all the way up from cream ridge, NJ, and it was worth the 53 minute drive; the food was authentic and delicious, we kept ordering all different things just for the heck of trying everything possible. Thank you for the friendly service and even more for bringing back memories through your food!

First off, I live about 35 mins away from Elizabeth but make the drive here just to eat at Alabrasa Café. I guarantee anything you choose will be delicious. I have had majority of the selections on the menu, never once was dissatisfied. Very friendly staff & cozy location. Patacones & cachapas are my personal favorite.

This place is a down to earth very chill place. If you’re looking for delicious Venezuelan food then this is the place to come! By far my favorite place in the Elizabeth area. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have loved every single bite. The owners are very friendly. Overall a great homey place!

I love this place. The owners and the people are friendly and helpful. I am not familiar with Valenzuela dishes. Its clean but small place with outdoor seating, music, flat screens and a bar stool like setting.

Excelente lugar para comerse un buen patacón Maracucho con Pernil or carne mechada, los teqüeños también son buenísimos. Ademas es atendido por unos hermanos Maracuchos super atentos. Por fin un local de comida Venezolana con sabor Zuliano

Great Venezuelan Food! Everything is fresh and delicious! They have arepas, empanadas, cachapas, patacones, etc!
I had all of them… and was absolutely amazed!
Finally a good Venezuelan place in Jersey!

Place is closed. Seem out of business… It is a shame… Hopefully another Venezuelan place open up soon

I only come to this place for the reina pepiada, they also have nice venezuelan tamales. But their service is lousy, the lady behind the counter (I believe she’s the owner) has a bad attitude and most of the time they are out of stuff.

It was a gorgeous and sunny day this past weekend and I really wanted to go for a walk in the park (literally, Warinanco Park is nearby) but on the way I saw Plaza Venezuela and this tiny store front intrigued me. Sometimes these store fronts hide treasures, and I hoped this would be the case.
I headed inside and saw a small counter with two fridge units behind it and a couple of small tables. It’s a very small place but I was greeted by the friendliest gentleman behind the counter and a friendly woman sitting at the counter. It felt nice. As I looked into the glass case I saw they were mostly on empty but one thing shone like a beacon: arrepa! I love these things and was happy to try these.
I purchased one ($ 2, not bad) and noticed unlike the others I’ve had, it had bits of red peppers in it. The texture was smoother as well, but when I bit into it I noted it still had the wonderfully crispy exterior with a wonderfully soft and chewy interior. Awesomeness.
But then… I tasted their hot sauce. It looked like a balsamic mixture of some sort so I expected it to only be sweet, but it turned out to be sweet AND amazingly spicy. I’m not sure what peppers were blended into this thing, but to a hot sauce lover like me it was *heaven*. I asked the gent behind the counter what was in it and he told me (big smile intact) that it was his mom’s home recipe and he didn’t know the exact elements. She still makes it and that just charmed me to bits.
I walked out happy to have found a new spot that is friendly and offers a really tasty snack. I’m hoping down the line to try some of their other food on my next walk to the park!
