History

Established in 2010.

Hello! My name is Melissa Magdziasz. I live in Eliot, Maine with my husband Tom and our three dogs. Growing up on a dairy farm in CT, I have been taking care of animals since I can remember. For many years during high school I was involved with 4-H which brought sheep, goats, horses, rabbits, pigs, and chickens into my life. My family always had a dog but I’ve been a solo dog owner since getting out of college and really appreciate the simple happiness my pets have given me. Dog walking and pet sitting started out as a weekend gig years ago I did once in a while, but now it’s become a way of life for me and I couldn’t be happier. With the amount of positive feedback I was receiving from clients I took a leap of faith and left my sales and marketing job to follow my passion and haven’t looked back since.

I know from personal experience how hard it can be to find someone reliable to take care of your pets. I realize you aren’t only going to be trusting me with them but sometimes with your home as well — and I take that responsibility seriously. I discovered that not every place I traveled to was pet friendly and that boarding my dogs was both expensive for me and stressful for them. And sometimes plans had to change when I couldn’t find a friend to help out. I want to help anyone in a situation where work is running longer than their pet’s bladder may allow — for those weekend getaways where the hotel manager doesn’t understand that your dog won’t bark all day — and because sometimes waking up too early on vacation to let the dog out shouldn’t be in the plans.
