Business Owner

Dr. Christopher Lee is the founder and owner of the Eliot Veterinary Hospital. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1981 where he earned his bachelor of science degree in Animal Science and Pre…-Veterinary Medicine. After pursuing a master of science degree at the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Lee received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 1987 graduating magna cum laude. He also completed an internship in emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Following graduation from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Lee owned and operated the South Berwick Veterinary Hospital for 20 years where he practiced small animal medicine and surgery with special interests in dermatology, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery and orthopedics.

I took my dog to Dr. Lee because we used to see him in South Berwick. He said our boxer needed mouth surgery for his teeth and we trusted him. He came home from surgery so sick that he vomited constantly and couldn’t even have a drink of water without vomiting. We took him back and the doctor gave him a shot, the next day we took him back and he gave him an IV. He said if it continues take him to the emergency vet. We did. After spending 3,000.00 on a $ 600.00 surgery the emergency doctor told us that when he operated he scratched his esophagus. This caused him to be unable to hold anything down. They took him for 24 hours, IV’d him and made sure he could eat before they sent him home. They said his symptoms were classic for this problem. Dr. Lee wanted nothing to do with the after treatment because it was the weekend. He admitted after a recheck that yes that was what it was but offered no apology or sympathy for our pup who almost died. Then we find out that this had happened to a friend’s cat with a worse outcome. If your pet needs surgery or a procedure please go someplace else and keep your baby safe.

Dr. Lee and his staff have made being a new pet parent a lot less stressful. They always have time to answer any of my questions and concerns. The staff is extremely friendly and loving toward the furry patients and their human owners. They are always happy to see the animals hit their mile stones. I’ve never had a vet clinic treat me like family, not just a number for the day.
When we found out that my fur baby may have FIV, Dr. Lee and his staff all reassured me. They gave me all the information I needed, offered to talk to the perilous owners about getting their animals tested, and even said I could stop by or call in anytime with any questions.
We scheduled a bother appointment for yet another test. During the weeks between visits I received a couple calls asking how my kitten was doing and if I had any more questions or concerns. It made me so happy knowing hat everyone at Eliot Veteinary cared so much.
If you want a welcoming environment for you and your pet, you need to go to see Dr. Lee and his amazing staff.

Dr. Lee rocks! He used to run South Berwick Vet Hospital, sold it, and after a bit has now opened this place. So, if his name sounds familiar, you may know him from his prior work. His new office has state of the art equipment for diagnostics. He doesn’t try to push products on you, and he takes a progressive, logical approach to diagnostics so as to keep the cost reasonable yet do what needs to be done. For example, my cat was not eating. He asked a lot of questions about her home environment and any changes. He suggested the Feline Felway phenome spray which is purchased at Petco or his place. It works like a charm. The other vet I went to when he was closed on the weekend wrote up an estimate for 1200 in diagnostics, none of which were needed, thank heavens. So, he doesn’t try to pad the bill and most importantly, he is easy to talk to. His staff follows up with you. Thanks to Dr Lee, Dinah is doing much better and thanks to his natural product (no pills), my cat can travel now without getting motion sickness. He also cares about the home environment and will discuss any issues with moving, care, etc. Glad he opened his beautiful, spotlessly clean office.
