Established in 2009.

Severity Design is a graphic design and web design studio located in Elgin, Illinois servicing Schaumburg, Barrington, Crystal Lake, Geneva, St. Charles and the Fox Valley region. It was officially opened in October 2009 to service the graphic design and web design needs of local small businesses, individuals and non-​profit organizations in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Since then we have worked with various organizations and companies throughout the United States and Canada.

Severity Design is the idea of visionary and creative muse, Russell Wimberly. He acquired his Bachelor’s degree from Judson University. His extensive course work in Media Studies gave him an interest in the internet between 1994 – 1999 while it was still developing into mainstream utilization. His senior research project was on how the internet affects social relationships. He also has a certification in Web Design from Elgin Community College and is familiar with HTML, CSS, Javascript and the CS4 Suite of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Fireworks.
