When I first heard the term«horse therapy,» I thought«it can’t be for horses with issues, but what is this stuff?» and I learned they treat people with issues by way of interaction with horses. They do mental health therapy, corporate training stuff, other horse-assisted behavioral and learning therapy. There’s a licensed mental health provider on staff, and the other staff members are certified through the nationally-recognized Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association(EAGALA). They’re a little different from other equine-assisted practices in that they don’t do physical therapy. They offer the traditional horse services too — riding lessons and camps.
