We will go no where else for donuts. Fresh and real donuts. Absolutely amazing. We go about once a month. Puts Dunkin donuts to shame. Great deal. Staff always friendly. Cute little counter that I take my grandson to as a treat

We come here frequently bc the food is fresh and the prices are reasonable. I like the friendly and patient staff. Plus it’s a bonus that it has a drive-up!

I won’t be joining the Country Donuts fan club any time soon. They were good, certainly better than Dunkin Donuts, but what isn’t? The donuts we had were on the same level as grocery store bakery donuts. Good, but not great. As expected, they were super busy on a Saturday morning. But the line kept moving quickly. Unfortunately, the front counter area is a hot mess of people who are in line, not in line, and picking out donuts. I couldn’t really see past anyone, so I asked the girl to just pick out her favorites and add them to my dozen. The toasted coconut and Boston cream were my faves, but most of the cake donuts were dry. There’s no way they were old, not with that kind of business coming in and out the door, but something wasn’t right. Prices are fair though, definitely less than the super fancy donut shops. And the donuts are overall better than Dunkin.

My parents recently moved to the area, and on my first drive to their new place I spotted Country Donuts as I drove down 20. Knowing usually my ‘rents usually have an array of DD or(terrible) store bought donuts on hand, after arriving I made it known that there WOULD be a donut run to check out Country Donuts the next day. I personally don’t eat donuts often, but when I do, if I’m given the option of getting them home made AND supporting a local biz vs franchise, I’m definitely into it. My pops and i checked this joint out shortly before 9 on a Sunday and it was BUMPING in the best way possible — parents w kiddos still in pj’s, folks coming from church and all the types in between, it was obvious the community loved this joint. The inside has a distinctly 50’s vibe to it and is open, well lit and very well run — the workers behind the counter were really efficient — it kind of reminded me of Portillos but with 20% of the chaos(and none of the hotdogs.) I honestly don’t recall seeing a griddle but i could be wrong. Anyway, why would you bother with any other breakfast option while there anyway?! The donuts are(obviously) the main event here and there was a lot of great variety — everything is done in the«traditional» donut variety(donuts w a variety of glazes, jelly filled donuts and cake donuts) which is my preferred mode when ordering something I rarely get to enjoy. I’m not sure if the donuts are made on site, but they are obviously home-made and are FRESH. Also, the prices, oh the prices! A half dozen was $ 5.40 which just totally blows my mind. I got 2 glazed, a honey dip, a sour cream cake, a strawberry jelly & an apple cinnamon and«shared» all with my family members. Having tasted them all, i can say they were all DELISH but if I’d had my way, I’d have taken a dozen honey dipped back home with me. That being said, I am a sane person and don’t need to eat a dozen donuts so I abstained(though I am regretting it.) They also had a good selection of beautiful looking scones, Polish(i think?) cookies, croissants and other pastries. They also had coffee drinks, juice and milk on hand if you wanted to sit and enjoy your spoils. Country Donuts is well light, clean, VERY well run and parking is plentiful. Also, the hours are great(and terrible since there’s virtually no reason not to stop by.) Grab a donut and sit a spell, or go home and stuff your face — either way, you’ll definitely NOT regret it! I’m already looking forward to going back for another visit… possibly more than visiting my family!

These donuts are OK but not the best. But the Crystal Lake location is! For some reason these donuts are drier but some of the flavor is missing(In your Vanilla Cream :{) To prove this point we even did a blind taste test comparing your donuts to your crystal lake location. Here are the results: Chocolate Frosted Cake: Crystal Lake, Frosting and Texture were not comparable to Elgin Honey Dip: Crystal Lake, Moist and Warm and Elgin was drier and cold.(A warm donut always wins no matter what) Vanilla(Angel) Cream. Crystal Lake, This one wins clearly since the Elgin one was dry and had less filling than the one in crystal lake. The one in crystal lake has a better frosting, a better texture and a better taste.(That’s probably why they call them Angel Creams at the Crystal Lake location)

They actually make the donuts like three times so this is why the donuts always taste fresh and not stale as you will find in a Dunkin Donuts. the service here is top notch and they often have coupon deals making this place well worth a trip and visit. this is another stellar Country Donut location not r for mass profit and saturation but for serving the best quality donuts and products for the customer.

I grew up in Crystal Lake and every Saturday morning my Dad would take my sister and I to Country Donuts. At the time it was just tasty donuts. Now that I’m older I appreciate what these little donut shops are all about. Now that my Dad is gone, the memories of those Saturday mornings are some of my favorite. Support little family own businesses that actually care. Country Donuts has delicious donuts, great coffee, and generations of happy memories.

Classic donut shop. Not a all size fits one corporate shop. Personal service with a smile and great donuts and coffee. Very clean and great selection. Highly recommended.

Best donuts in this area. They are always fresh and decently priced. Only wish they would once in a while have a more unique flavored donut. But the blueberry and honey dipped are my fav!

Decent donuts nothing much different than dunkin donuts. Spunky Donuts are by far the best donuts in northwestern suburbs. These donuts don’t even come any close to them.

No questions. Great donuts. Located in an easily seen strip mall. Open 24 h. They even have good soups. Place is a local hangout especially in the morning. Staff in the mornings are great despite being busy. My complaint is the drive thru tonight. It is understandable at 1:25am some flavors are missing. But we had a very rude staff that took our order. When we were not ready yet to place our order coz we cant read the flavors clearly, she sighed loudly. While taking our orders she was irritated. We have been going here for years and its disappointing that place that sells sweet donuts would have somebody as rude as her. hence the 3 stars.

One of the traditionalist doughnut shops left in Illinois. I truly enjoyed all the doughnuts I picked up, especially the Sour Crème and the German Chocolate Cake doughnuts. They were perfectly sweet, and fresh — went great with my coffee!

Always a treat to stop by this donut shop on my way to Lake Geneva. Their donuts are always fresh and they have a wide variety. These delicious donuts are made right on the premises and you can watch the bakers knead the dough by hand in the back kitchen. I love this place!

Yum… it’s open 24 hours and it’s delicious!!! The price is reasonable too. The glazed is great. Not too sweet and the strawberry jelly one is amazing! The staff is friendly and very helpful. There is an area to sit in there to eat too. It’s a cute little café/donut shop. Love it!!!

I’m so happy that this place is so close to the house! Country Donuts is our donut breakfast go-to and they have the best donuts in the area, hands-down! I have yet to be disappointed by a single donut and each one is amazing. I might be pretty plain-Jane about it, but my favorites are the sugar raised and honey dipped. Both SO good. The seasonal apple cider and pumpkin and great options too. The only other thing I’ve ordered here besides donuts is the coffee. I’m particular to DD(because America runs on it, of course) but the coffee here is good too.

This whole donut discovery is really adding to my waistline. It’s a love hate relationship. My co-worker brought some donuts(and when I say some I mean 6 dozen) from here into work the other morning. They had all different seasonal flavors — pumpkin, maple, apple cider, and cinnamon spice. The ones that I tasted were all really good– moist, flavorful, and filling. I have not been to the actual location, but I can vouch for the donuts, and they are delicious!
