Fun, safe, adventures underwater led by knowledgeable naturalists. Encounter sharks, rays, rare monk seals, whales, dolphins, and large schools of tropicals. We understand what divers like. We offer charters all around Kauai, including the NaPali Coast. We were the first to offer Niihau charters (1984) and have many different dive sites available. We will even offer wild and diverse dive destinations that usually are unobtainable. Most charters are for certified divers but we do have excellent dive sites for beginners to try out scuba diving for the first time. Our staff is all certified PADI instructors and we promote, teach and live safe scuba.

We also will take groups of snorkelers and freedivers to regions rarely explored so that your underwater experience is tops! Want to stay on the boat? NO worries. We offer whale and dolphin experiences and Na Pali Coast tours in small groups. Private charters avail.

History

Established in 1983.

Bubbles Below was started out of the love of good diving and the search for another amazing encounter underwater. Linda Marsh and Ken Bail decided to «live the dream» exploring and opening up many many new dive sites around Kauai and Niihau. Still to this day, we have been credited for finding most of the dive sites. Linda still owns Bubbles and continues to dive with an emphasis on marine ecology tours as well as still searching for truely awesome visions underwater.

Since we had the «itch» to explore, we offered dive charters out of Hanalei during the summer, which extended down the NaPali to the Mana Crack area on the west side. During the winter, we left from the south shore and whenever possible from the East side so that we covered the entire island underwater.

We were the first to offer Niihau and Lehua Crater in 1984, boat camping and diving day after day. When we finally started having kids, they were brought up on the family boat.

I started diving when I was 6 yrs. old with my father, and by the time I was old enough to drive to scuba lessons, I had logged 40 hrs underwater. I became a NAUI scuba instructor in 1977, but had to wait until I was 21 yr. to get the cert. I always wanted to dive anywhere, anytime while I completed my BS in education at U of M, I worked in their scuba program. Once graduated, I moved to Kauai in 1980 and started working as an instructor as well as buying myself a 17ft. boat, learning the ocean ways, and mechanics, and of course, more diving. I became a NAUI course director in ’82. Upgraded the boat several times and now have 2 vessels, a 36 ft. radon and a 32 ft. power cat, which along with a wonderful staff offer marine ecology tours as well as teach divers of all levels. I still dive, Captain, clean, fix, manage, work and play. I love the scientific side of diving as I can take that info and bring it to the sport divers. I invite you to be apart of our diving family!
