New Hong Kong

My family went here late on a Sunday, so maybe they weren’t at the top of their game. I had the General Tso’s combination. It was gummy and my rice was hard. The crab rangoon was dry and had a weird taste. I have ate at many Chinese restaurants and given the quality of my food, I would rate it towards the bottom; even worse than the vanilla stuff from HyVee.

Very nice family run business. Had the hot
& sour soup. Delish! Always a cold killer! Stops colds dead in their tracks. Had the Mongolian beef. Tasty but missed the vermicelli noodles. Portions are huge, and
prices are reasonable. Worth the stop! Place is a must try

This is the hidden gem of Eldridge. It’s a pretty unassuming business front, but a delicious family run establishment. They usually have a buffet over lunch with good selection. My favorite is the sesame chicken. If you are looking for inexpensive delicious Chinese food this is the place to go!

This little place tucked away in eldridge iowa is a cheap and delicious place for lunch or dinner.
The restaurant is small but the menu is just as wide ranged as most other chinese places.
I love their hot and sour soup! Plenty of heat and flavor.
Their lunch plates are a great deal $ also… ill be back again!

Hidden away on the outskirts of a small country town, one must park in the alley next to New Hong Kong Chinese restaurant. Walking inside, I was hit with the smell of egg drop soup and roasted asian spices wafting through the air. I went expecting a buffet, but the buffet is not offered during dinner on weekdays, so I ordered off the menu. I had the kung-​pow chicken which was just spicy enough, it was very tasty. The chicken was served with fried rice and crab rangoons both of which were the best that I have had in the QCA. My wife (who has been here before) ordered pork lo mein, and spent the hour that we were there in a blissful state, lecturing me on the perfection of her noodles. My wife is a lo mein snob, no way around it, it’s all she ever orders at a Chinese restaurant, and guess what? She loves it here! My wife thinks that the Lo mein at New Hong Kong is the best she has ever had, tied with a $ 40 duck lo mein dish she had in NYC.
I know Eldrige is out of the way, but this small restaurant is so tasty, it makes me sad that is was not busy at all.

Yum. Yummy. Delicious.
This little place is hidden inside of Eldridge right down 2^nd street near the «Bookworm».
We were greeted by a kid who seated us promptly. I found this to be extremely odd but he was polite and I was hungry.
The buffet was not up and going much to my dismay so we quickly ordered egg foo yung, spring rolls, Four Seasons and the Happy Family combination plates.
The food was absolutely wonderful. The spring rolls were fresh, hot and so full of flavor. I could also tell that the egg foo yung was a home recipe as I had never tasted it like this before. Very good. The best Chinese food I have ever had, hands down.
Great food, friendly, helpful service and a lot of food for your money in a small little town.
