All those reviews about food, just to find out no lunch on Sunday. Coffee was ok, but we’re so disappointed that we can’t get soup, salad, or sandwiches

I am so happy my husband suggested this place to me! My sister and I were about to drive all the way out to Randall to get sandwiches or salad when he called and said to check them out first. Elburn needed a place like this! I even went back the next day to try something else. So far(between my husband’s, sister’s and my meals!) everything has been delicious. The black bird is not just an ordinary turkey sandwich, but has a nice kick. The Thailand Salad is amazing and I love the edamame. The broccoli cheddar soup is the perfect balance of creamy and cheesy. The peanut butter cookie is a great bite without being dry, like peanut butter cookies can be. My favorite so far is the Root Beer Frappé. So unique and delicious! I highly recommend it, but call your order in ahead of you are in a rush, as it can take a bit, especially if they are busy(which they seem to be often), but it is so worth it. Enjoy!

My husband and I go here a LOT cause it never disappoints. We have both had breakfast and lunch here, sometimes on the same day. Not once have I ever been disappointed in their food or their drinks. The staff are all awesome people and the place is always clean, even when they are busy. I will continue to be a loyal customer at Corner Grind!

I contacted the owner to give her a «heads up» about my husband & I both having something«gritty» in both of our sandwiches. The«roast top round» in the beef & cheddar was tough/fatty/scarce. To make things worse, we were both up all night with upset stomachs! I suggested that possibly whomever was making the sandwiches, may have not properly washed the lettuce or something??? After advising me that she herself makes the sandwiches, she basically argued the fact, explaining she had a lettuce washing machine. After listening to what I consider nothing but excuses, it seemed like she was in total denial & wanted to do nothing but disagree with whatever I had to say. Although she offered to give us a couple«free» sandwiches to make up for our experience, we’ve decided to never return. Who argues with a paying customer??? Good luck!!! Sorry I bothered to call!!!

I must confess. I don’t drink coffee, so I can’t tell you how the coffee is at this coffee house! I can tell you that they make some delicious scones, muffins, and donuts. The blackberry and cinnamon scones are my favorite, but flavors change depending on the season. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Recently, I finally made it there for lunch. Well, another confession, we were just too late for breakfast. We are night owls not early birds. We really went for breakfast, walked in and realized it was after 11AM. The sandwiches were gigantic and very good. I don’t remember the name, but it was a chicken salad sandwich with bacon. I ordered the 6″, but it was much larger than that. I ate half and took the rest home. My foodie 11-year-old had a turkey club of some sort. He polished his off and said it was very good. I highly recommend stopping in at The Corner Grind. Great little coffee house in a great little town!

The Corner Grind is a fantastic place for lunch or a cup of coffee. The sandwiches are large and made with fresh ingredients. The pastries are homemade. The service is also cheerful and friendly.

Glad I gave it a 2nd chance! Servers were friendly and helpful. Blackberry & Lemon Muffin was fantastic. This is what I was expecting when I first tried it. Very good and very reasonably priced. Will try lunch soon.

I’m not just raving about this place because it’s local to me, I am raving because it is just THAT good. Utterly fabulous coffee, DELICIOUS food, cozy atmosphere, and friendly, relaxed service. I am a big fan of their weekly specials — their Steak and Potato Soup comes to mind, as well as the Southwest Chopped Salad with grilled steak just last week. I’ve tried a variety of their breads/muffins and sandwiches and honestly, all but one have floored me. I could eat here every day. I must comment on the servers/baristas. They are ALWAYS accommodating and helpful and genuinely seem to enjoy their job. They deserve props for always having a smile on their face. It also happens to be one of few places I can sit down with my two-year-old for more than twenty minutes because for some reason, she is always relaxed and well-behaved here. Even she knows it’s a great place. :)

Get the cinnamon roll muffin warmed! Delicious with a black cup of coffee. They brew their own coffee which is a medium. They offered a dark but it was decaf.

We grabbed a coffee and breakfast sandwich this morning before missing the earlier metra train into the city. That was sad, but the espresso was not sad. It was fantastic. There was a plate of doughnut hole samples on the counter and they were delicious. You could tell they were fresh and house made. The breakfast sandwich was basic but very solid. You could tell they use good ingredients. I’d go back! Very friendly staff!

Cool little corner café. Coffee was good, but almond biscotti was amazing. Twice the size of normal biscotti with a nice chew to it. No need for dunking to soften it up. This place is now on my fav list.

Just went to this place for the first time with my daughter: both of our«treats» were good and the coffee was good too. I believe I had coffee cake. I cannot remember what she had. The employees are also very nice.

Corner Grind has huge delicious sandwiches for lunch and the price is right at about $ 7.50 including a bag of chips. All Boars Head meats and cheeses. I eat here almost once a week. Different soup and sandwich specials daily. Highly recommended for lunch or coffee. Note: Lunch is served from 11am — 3pm only and they can get a little busy.

Had to make the trip because of the reviews. For anyone that looks to Unilocal to find a new place or great food options — you will love this stop! We ordered 3 different sandwiches– the 1−3−5, coffee, lemon berry smoothie, an a monkey mocha. And yes, there were three of us. The generous amount of meat and cheese on the sandwich was well worth the 7.50– you could share or save for leftover. It was a bit loud inside but when the food is that good you can give them a pass on noise. If they only had space for a patio this place would have locals standin in line for the food and sweets. Already planning next trip back.

Elburn lucked out by getting this coffee spot to open up last year. Although the city prevents them from much signage(while the new DD down the street has had cheap plastic flags and roadside«grand opening» signs up for months now), Corner Grind has developed a loyal customer base by serving great coffee, fresh baked pastries, and AMAZING lunches! Hoping they’ll be around for many years to come!

Although I don’t really pass through Elburn too often, I have been here a few times with my mom. It’s nice to have a local coffee place. Elburn has been needing a place like this for a long time. The staff are friendly. The ambiance is cute and cozy. The space is a little small, but is always packed. The coffee menu is extensive and they have some lunch items as well. I will return whenever I’m in the area.

I just started grad school and needed to collaborate on a paper with my group member who lives in Dekalb(I live in St. Charles). Elburn was smack dab in the middle for us to meet and The Corner Grind was perfect! They get pretty busy here no matter the time. I came in around 9am and it was quiet but then the morning rush came in, followed by the lunch crowd. They have a big sandwich selection and one rotating daily soup. Had a cup of their steak and potato soup($ 2.75) and a 12 oz. soy chai tea latte($ 3.10). Both were amazing. Service is extremely quick and friendly. Wifi is password free and worked like a charm. If you’re a local, don’t forget to ask about their punch card so you can work yourself up to a freebie!
