History

Established in 1974.

Brothers, Jack and Rich Herra started J&R Herra, Inc. almost 40 years ago when they bought a small Lily Lake plumbing business from Jack’s father-​in-​law. Together the brothers decided to rename and move their shop to Elburn in the early 1980s. As the business grew locally, so did the J&R Herra team. Jack and Rich welcomed an office staff and field technicians, four of which were Jack’s grown children. Today, Jack’s youngest son, Brian continues to run J&R Herra, Inc. as president and owner. J&R Herra prides itself on servicing customers throughout the western Chicagoland area. In addition to plumbing, we have become trusted experts in heating, air conditioning, electric, radiant, and geothermal servicing and installation. We not only pride ourselves on a rich history of family and dedication, but we are also cutting-​edge leaders in the technologies, services, and designs of tomorrow’s plumbing/​HVAC industries.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

It is easy to say that Brian Herra was born and raised to run J&R Herra, Inc. After all, he grew up in a plumbing/​HVAC shop. He spent countless hours watching and learning from his dad, uncle, and older brothers as they embraced their family’s trade and business. Following his graduation from Kaneland High School, Brian simultaneously earned a Bachelors Degree in Business from Aurora University, was a collegiate athlete, and completed his plumbing apprenticeship/​obtained his plumbing license in 2002. He has been working for J&R Herra ever since. You can find Brian in the service field, managing the office, or meeting with old and new customers alike. In 2011 Brian purchased J&R Herra, Inc. from his mother and uncle. He continues to build upon the company and its services all the while remembering the his core values of family, hard work, and dedication.
