Interesting to check out. I would suggest not going during summer though I was there July 7th and with no shade it was barely tolerable for more than a quick visit. Nice area though very country. Even though it was hot I still attempted a quick picnic. There are pretty horses in pasture beside it. People came and went while we were there even on a Tuesday during work hours. We planned it so we could play at the state park that is located 8 miles away after to hike some and stopped by a very interesting junk/antique store. Then back on road to drive the 2 hours back.

Scenic Drive in the middle of farmland off SR77, the road creeps up on you as its modestly tucked off the beaten path. Worth a trip it’s thought provoking and mysterious. #exploregeorgia all granite construction, about 15 cars here today all various state plates!

I have been told by, you don’t need to know who, that I should write a review of the Guidestones, and make the review to be one-star. I should talk about how I would rank it 0 stars if I could, about how all the hoopla surrounding them, the Illuminati, the Rosicrucians, Mark Dice, the Jesuits, Alex Jones, R.C. Christian, and all that mess was just that… mess. There is no conspiracy, there is no plan to drastically reduce the population of the world, there is no mystic connection to the Denver International Airport, and there are no secret underground tunnels connecting the Guidestones to Stonehenge in England or the Pyramids in Egypt. No, nothing to see. No. You will be fine citizens. There, I did it. I did it. I did it, okay. I told them not to come. Okay. Okay.

Interesting place! We came to visit after seeing it on TV. We took lots of pictures and read the posted info at the guide stones. We stopped by the museum as suggested, but it was closed. Worth a look if you’re in the area!

I hadn’t heard of these Guidestones. It was on my husband’s bucket list, so since we weren’t too far from it, why not? It was worth seeing. The carvings are in many languages stating ten common sense, nonreligious commandments or suggestions for conserving and preserving humankind and nature. Maybe they were carved in stone so they’d seem more important or true. Certainly good to think about and reflect on. The world would have to embrace them. However; interpretation depends on the individual.

I’d read so much about this place over the years that I finally had to visit. And it’s Mr. I.F.‘s favorite admission price – free. If you are the least bit interested in conspiracy theories and the like, then you may find this worth the drive out. However, it’s not Disney World, so you shouldn’t bring friends and family out looking for major entertainment. It’s kind of a solemn, somber place, situated on a hillock in the middle of Green Acres. The only thing that’s missing is Eddy Albert, Mr. Haney, and Arnold the pig. Come, take some pictures, contemplate the meaning of the stones, and then decide for yourself if this is something valid or if it’s a hoax. That’s why this is fun, isn’t it? And, while you’re watching the stones, Big Brother is watching you from a camera on a pole. Enjoy.

I enjoy roadside attractions. I enjoy them a little too much. This one is located in Elberton, the self-proclaimed Monument Stone Capital of the World. You can look online and find all of the good on this place, but the gist is that an unknown man commissioned these large pillars to be erected. Its in the middle of nowhere. You may miss it if you are going too fast down the road, but you’ll definitely see it. Don’t do anything crazy, you’re on camera. But if you like quirky roadside attractions, you should make the trek.

if you even know what these are you likely know what they say. We got the GPS coordinates off the internet which got us close enough to find this monument in the middle of nowhere. I didn’t anticipate anyone else being in the obscure location but rolled up on 4 other cars in the small parking area. We got to see it close up and read the plaque along with the monument itself. Regrettably, it was defaced at one time but the county or someone else must have restored(removed what appears to have been paint. I am concerned on the message too but thankfully, over 30 years after its creation, the better than though writers of the monument haven’t succeeded in killing 11 out of 12 of the world’s population. Not sure where they got that number and makes me laugh that everyone assumes they would be the few in the surviving group. More likely, look a few miles NE at the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC. With over 200 rooms, 20 square miles of private land, and a small village for the ‘servant class’ to live in, a simpleton class to serve elite rich would be the lot for many of the survivors if this bad scenario played out. Most of us sheeple would be deemed not worth keeping.

Just a weird attraction along a country road outside Elberton. The whole thing smacks of Jehova’s Witness too me. Probably worth about 10 minutes of stop just to look take a few pictures and engage in random conspiracy theory with whomever is pretending to be a Guide Stone scholar. Worth the trip if you are into this kind of thing. Use your GPS if you are not from the area, cause you are on some back roads, small towns to get there. I decided to drive up from Atlanta on a whim. Met some really odd locals. Not in a scary Deliverance way, but in a «whoa, we’re not in Atlanta anymore» kind of way. Lets just say there was allot of yelling on cell phones about custody issues and who does /should go to rehab. Memories for life. Perhaps I would go as far as to say the locals outshined the stones. As for the stones, good execution of idea and message, but I think someone forget the principal of «LOCATIONLOCATIONLOCATION». If some powerful malevolent force was behind the creation of these… don’t you think they would have the resources to move the granite stones to a higher populated area than Elberton. They’re only there because thats where the granite is. It was someone with enough money to get them carved, but not to move them. Just doesn’t smell like Illuminati to me. As for the cameras, they’re across the gravel road behind the parking lot.

The reason I wanted to see these stones is because I am anti-illuminati. These stones are build in the middle of NOWHERE. I suggest if you want to see these stones go at daytime. There are signs that says is under surveillance. I didn’t see any of them. Maybe it was to scare people off or it was very well hidden. First let me state I’m not affiliated with this at all. My curiosity got the best of me and wanted to see if this actually existed, which yes it does. It is interesting to see that someone went to all this trouble to exercise their freedom of speech without revealing themselves. As for the construction and craftsmanship, it’s not bad. I have seen better, but I wonder if this is part of some really secret group or if some local Billy Bob’s decided to try and get some attention. One of the holes drilled through that is for viewing the North Star or having it shine through is not even a perfect straight hole. It works, but a bit imperfection.
