Came on time, had to replace faucet and both h/​c handles.
Had to order a new setup and come back but right on time again and all fixed.
Always nervous about home warranty contractors but was pleased with this one.

I didn’t choose H&R Plumbing but rather our insurance company chose them for us when We reported a leaking toilet and faucet. Having said that, after they came and serviced us, I would totally choose them the next time I had a plumbing issue.
I especially liked the friendly operators on the phone who helped me set up an appointment right away. And then I was super happy with the repair man they sent over. His name was Eli (pronounced «Elly») and he was just on top of it. Not only is he a very friendly man, but most of all, he really knows what he does and fixed the plumbing issue right away.
I recommend!

My water heater failed and was starting to leak badly. Eli with H&R came out right on time, was very efficient and friendly and got the job done right. It was definitely not up to code before. He took the time to explain what he needed to do to correct that situation and now I’ll shower with a smile on my face.

Very responsive company and arrive on time. The work quality is excellent. Juan-​Carlos was very professional and responsible repair man. He installed two faucets for us very timely and professional. Highly recommend

Juan did a good job and was very professional. My home warranty sent them out. Without any issue or trying to charge more, he replaced two angle arms and the kitchen faucet for me. He was also very keen to call the home warranty people to tell them what was going on. I called, too, since I had wanted a nicer faucet installed. It’s been two weeks now, and so far everything is working just fine. I did pay for the nicer faucet (and the home warranty people sent me a check for credit on that). All worked out without any hassle.

H & R Plumbing was sent to us through our home warranty. I called Friday morning and was told to expect their call to confirm a time. When I didn’t hear from them, I called and left a message later that afternoon. They called Saturday morning and set a time for Monday morning. The plumber arrived on time. He was pleasant and seems to know what he was doing. He had trouble locating the clean out and wasn’t sure the one he found would work for the back of the house, in which case the warranty wouldn’t cover his work. Thankfully, things did work and it took less than an hour to clear a clogged drain pipe. Other times when we’ve had plumbers, they have always cleaned up the mess, This one did not and only offered the advice to wear gloves when we cleaned it since the mess involved sewage. Is this usual? If given the option, I’ll ask for another plumber next time.

I was going through Fidelity National Home Warranty and setup and appointment regarding my clogged up bathroom sink. The first company (who I will not name) came out and couldn’t fix the problem. I called Fidelity again to voice my concern about the first company they sent and they then transferred the work order to H&R Plumbing. By then, the clog in my bathroom sink was even worse and backing up with blackish water. So Eli from H&R shows up the next day, takes a look at the sink then goes back to his truck and brings up a bunch of equipment. Within 30 minutes, the clog is now completely gone and the sink drain is the best I have ever seen. Eli changed out the P-​trap to a PVC as the old zinc one fully corroded which caused the initial backup. Eli was great and very professional. He covered the entire bottom of the sink with plastic sheets and covered the bathroom floor to avoid any mess, which the first company did not do and I had to clean up afterwards.

H&R was on time for the call knowledgeable and fixed our kitchen sink quickly. A Great job! We will definitely call them for any future problems.

This company was recommended to me by my home warranty company after I reported a shower leak. Cautioned by other reviewers, I made sure to read the home warranty contract in advance so I knew what was and wasn’t covered. Eli showed up right on time, and warned me in advance that if the leak was in the shower enclosure rather than the pipes, it would not be covered. He did a few tests and sure enough, it was the strainer which is considered part of the enclosure. This is a frequent point of failure so I guess that’s why it wasn’t covered. Eli cleaned up the mess from his testing and gave me no pressure when I said I would ask a handyman friend to try to fix it first. Seemed like a well-​run, honest business throughout the process.

Hello: I was having troubles with a different company that was providing to me the required sewer lateral inspection now required by East Bay MUD during a real estate transaction. I started over with H & R Plumbing and they were responsive, they set schedules and kept them, they communicated with me throughout the process and last but not least they knew that my sewer lateral would pass inspection which saved me 5 — 6 thousand dollars. All of the work was done in a timely and workmanlike fashion. Thanks H & R.

This company was recommended by my home warranty. We called them to replace a sump pump in basement, which they did just fine. Our next call was no longer on warranty, for a water heater replacement. I think it was a simple job, and their quote was the lowest so I went with them and they got it done. Now I live out in Pacheco, and I called them when our bathroom sink clogged up. The plumber took about two hours, and ended up have to run the snake from a vent in the roof. Even with the extra time, they charged me what they quoted. I think it helped that I told them I had used them several times before.
Anyway, I’ve been happy with these guys’ work. They’ve been reliable and professional, so I would rate them about 3.5. Good but not exceptional.

Like others, we got assigned to H&R Plumbing because of the Home Warranty.
We were also a little concern as well after reading the rest of the reviews, and that’s why i feel like i should write a few words and share my experience.
I guess we got a small common problem and they did the job well. The window was 10 – 1 and Juan arrived at 10:30. Very nice polite guy. Took a look at the problem, went out to get the tools, in about 15 min, all done. He also explained to me what might be clogging it, what he used to fix it, and tested it again and it worked OK.
We tried to fix it ourselves for a couple days (with various tools) and now problem solved. Sometimes it just takes a professional to do the job. We are happy campers.

Our kitchen sink clogged up on a Sunday night and the washing machine, which was running at the time, spewed water all over the garage floor. Fun! We called our home warranty company and they sent in a claim through H&R Plumbing. I was a little nervous about this after looking at the reviews here, but decided I’d give them a chance and see how things went.
Come Monday morning, I wait for H&R to call with an appointment. When I didn’t hear by 9 a.m., I called myself (this is my only complaint). The receptionist who answered was pleasant on the phone, checked the tech’s availability and told me Eli would show up between noon and 3. At 12:45, Eli came by.
He was very nice, polite, worked quickly and even took off his shoes not to track mud into the house. He cleared out our clog, made sure there were no leaks or other problems with the kitchen pipes or the washing machine, explained everything to me, answered all my questions and cleaned up after himself.
I was very impressed and happy with their service.

Reading the reviews here made me really nervous for my service with H&R Plumbing, but luckily I had a good one.
I placed a call through our home warranty service, American Home Warranty, so I didn’t have an option as to which plumber came out, so I knew I was stuck no matter what and just crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.
My appointment was for 9−1pm but they called me at 8 am that morning to shorten the window to 9−11am and the technician, Juan Carlos called about 40 minutes after to let me know he was on his way.
I didn’t have any problems with the woman who answered the phones. She was very polite.
Juan Carlos arrived around 9:20 am and was very polite. He came in and of course, my toilet that has been clogged for 4 straight days flushed perfectly for him… seriously, wth toilet??! But he tried loading it with toilet paper to see if he could do it again… it wouldn’t, but not his fault.
He was very nice and talked to me about toilets getting older and the advancements in today’s toilets, etc, and just that it might be time to get new ones if it continues to clog easily (they are 17 years old).
So, I can’t give 5 stars because I didn’t really have a major issue, so I don’t know how it would have been handled but as for customer service and dependability, I was pleased.

The woman who answered the phone has to be the most incompetent admin I’ve ever had to deal with. Aside from being put on hold for long periods of time; she had to request to return my call in order to book my appt (thru Home Insurance)… she never called back. I had to call her again and she again, placed me on hold for a long time.
This is my first time using H & R, and let me tell you… dealing with this woman, who is the company’s first point of contact, has already ruined the experience for me.

By the way UnilocalERS, Don’t believe p.p. 5 star rating for this company. I know a phony post from the owners when I see one. H&R have to resort to posting phoney ads to negate the avalanche of negative reviews. DON’T BE FOOLED BY THIS RIP OFF AND MORONIC WORKFORCE WHO CAN”T LISTEN OR DON’T WANT TO LISTEN TO THE PUBLIC. I knew I was in trouble when twice they wanted me to change my 11 am appointment for earlier. I wanted to be there while doing the repairs. Their moronic technician Eli called me at 9:20 am while I was in a meeting and said he was coming over early. UnilocalERS. WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT RUNS A COMPANY AND FORCE THEMSELVES ON YOU WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT? My wife knew it was for 11 am but the Eli talked his way into the door at 9:40 am, even though my wife and a guest staying with us weren’t ready for them yet. He was in and out under 30 minutes without doing the repairs that we requested and completed. When I arrived home I called the technician who was long gone. When I got a hold of him on his cell phone he said he had no time to come back today, and I would need to make another appointment. I told him he needs to come back today or I’d call his employer. He said go ahead. I didn’t realize Eli the moron that he is, operates under the same guidelines as the moronic owner or manager, a guy named Dave. They both flashed the street/​ghetto jargon on me and acted if they could care less. When I try to reason with the owner Dave, he just said, «We did the work didn’t we?» I lectured them that they had a rogue tech out in the fireld ignoring protocool and my request to be at my residence while I was present. The owner Dave couldn’t have been more stupid as well. He only kept saying whats the problem? I said the problem was your company is allowing a tech run your company and do what he wants and ignoring the customer request to be there anytime after 11 am in the morning. I was going to be there the rest of the day and was giving them a huge window time to arrive anytime after 11am.
They said that if I called the home warranty company Fidelity, there would be no charge to me. DO THEY REALLY THINK I“M THAT STUPID OR THE PUBLIC THAT STUPID? They are going to bill Fidelity Home Warranty again. Its like rubber stamping money from the insurance companies. I hope that Home Warranty companies like Fidelity read these reviews, but alas, H&R Plumbing somehow got onto a vendor list in the industry and is making out like bandits and doing CRAP WORK! They are a sleazy company to use. STAY AWAY FROM H&R PLUMBING! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA! Why does Unilocal even have to have us rate a 1 star when obviously this plumbing company deserves no stars? NO STARS!!!

HORRIBLE! DO NOT USE THEM! They are only in business because of American Home Shield. The receptionist DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING. Everyone who has AHS should complain about H&R Plumbing!

I’m a new homeowner and not used to having to take care of things like this on my own. I woke up this morning and went into the kitchen. I emptied the pot that had been soaking overnight and grumbled when the sink didn’t drain. After a considerable amount of time piddling around with the garbage disposal and researching what to do on the net, with no luck. Not wanting to make a mess of things, I called my home warranty company who contacted H&R. They had someone out to my house within 2 hours, he cleard the clog and went on his way. On the scale of difficulty… I’ll probably be able to fix this next time it happens. I’m just glad they were able to fix it quick.

So I called these guys for a simple garbage disposal issue (I wish I had just looked around on the web first)
But they came, did 5 minutes of work, and when I told them the disposal still didn’t sound right, the tech said, just call me if there’s any more problems.
Well a month later it crapped out again and they refused to come out and fix it, and in fact the dude I spoke with on the phone even got smart with me. He was lucky I was at work and couldnt respond how I really wanted to in my heart.
Stay away!

These guys are quite possibly the worst plumbers in the Bay Area!
They have been to my house 4 times now and still can’t figure out how to fix my tankless hot water heater.
The last guy they sent to my house walked in the door, looked at the large closet that the heater is in (on the wall behind a stack-​able washer/​dryer unit which is so mobile that my wife can move) turned around and walked out of the house saying «you called the wrong person» AND LEFT! I was mortified! Franko at the office could not even explain his actions.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE WORTHLESS
