Yellow Cab

Usually Yellow Cab is quick and reliable picking up where I live (WeHo), but there have been a few significant issues:
1) after taking a cab to an airport, I have twice had issues where it couldn’t process the credit card payment due to internet connectivity. The first time, my husband and the driver had to drive around to get a connection. The second, I called to pay by phone. When one is in a hurry to catch a plane, spending 5 – 10 minutes trying to pay really sucks.
2) I called a cab once from Hollywood Hills and it just never showed. I waited over ½ hr and called back more than once before calling a competitor.

Yikes! I have never been a fan of Yellow cab and my experience today, I understand why Über is kicking their a$$ in the taxi cab wars. A beautiful day in LA torched by my kamikaze driver. Unless he’s a former Nascar driver, I didn’t understand the need to speed, yell at other drivers and brake constantly. Yes, I lived to tell the story and post my Unilocal review. I would rather hitchhike than ever do this again. Über you can pick me up anytime.

So I would like to warn anyone who might get into a cab with the #s 6546 late this morning the driver an Ethiopian male, under 6 ft tall with short curly black hair, early to mid 30s wearing an argyle vest, dark pants with long sleeve white collared polo with red tie tried to take my bag from me and put it back into his prius/​hybrid model taxi. He pushed, cussed and repeatedly argued over the payment because he wanted $ 20 to go from LAX terminal 2 to the In N Out. Out of his mind I fought back and with the help of a bystander I got my luggage back. Seriously don’t Ever take a Cab/​Taxi in LA. The drivers have gone crazy! Über is the best option and I’m a native Los Angelino woman. Be careful getting out of the airport, just take free shuttle service out then Über somewhere away from taxi cabs. Trust Me!

Don’t waste your time with a company that is this unprofessional. Apparently they are unable to keep track of «bandit» drivers using their info. These are illegals that drive like maniacs and will rip you off by any means necessary. To top it off, their customer service is AWFUL. Don’t waste you’re time! Just take an Über or use Bell cab.

LA Yellow Cab 6657:
Driver got very upset because we were not going too far. He was driving like crazy through the airport knowing that we had a baby in the car. If distance is a problem they should ask you before they toss your stuff in their trunk and problem solved. What a bad experience.

We live very close to LAX so the trip was short, but I received a confirmation text when the car was dispatched and a prompt call upon arrival. The car was not only on time, but even a few minutes early for our 5am pick-​up time. Driver was quiet, but considerate. Would definitely use this company again!

The Worst. The WORST. They didn’t pick me up this morning and I missed my flight. When I’ve dealt with them in the past, drivers have been consistently rude. Sometimes they’ve even asked me for directions. Wut???

Recently got one back from LAx to Venice. When I handed to the driver my credit card he asked while pulling a face:“Don’t you have some cash”? 1.) Even if I did it’s my choice to put the fare on a ccard and 2.) it’s inappropriate for you to ask. Instead maybe you could help with the effing luggage? Or thank me for the tip… Other than that I guess I got driven home…

11pm on a Saturday night, Theatre Row on Santa Monica Blvd.
A yellow cab drives past, I call the number on the back.
Decent phone call but lots of background noise (from the other dispatchers). Said they’d send someone.
20 minutes later, I’m still standing on the corner. Three lit /​empty Yellow Cabs drive past.
I finally wave-​down a different cab to get home.
40 minutes from my first call, I’m home … and Yellow Cab calls me with an automated message that my taxi is arriving.

I’ve used Yellow cab in the past, with mixed results. As a passenger, I’m often uncomfortable with their drivers’ habits… the typical ‘crazy cab driver’ behavior pulling risky moves. They drive like they have a woman in labor in the backseat, even (especially?) when they haven’t been told the passengers are in a hurry.
Whatever, that’s cab drivers for you.
However, as a fellow LA driver, I have to say I’ve had by far the MOST close-​call near-​accident situations with Yellow Cab Co. cabs. It’s getting ridiculous. I’ve started snapping pictures with my phone of said offending cabs, planning to send them to the company with license plate and date/​time info, but recently discovered that they have no way to do so listed on their website. Really? This is a customer service company and you have no way listed on your site for customers to submit feedback?
Alright, Unilocal it is. Problem with that is that there are approximately 40 692 457 different Unilocal entries for Yellow Cab Co. in LA. I can’t decide whether it’s spammy or justified to copy-​and-​paste my review into every one. Hmmm…

I called for a 530pm pickup in Marina del Rey to LAX to catch a 705pm flight. At 545 we hadn’t seen nor heard from our cab. We had to drive ourselves, as it was now too late to wait on the cab.
The cab showed up a week later at 1pm.
I’ll never call Yellow Cab again. Getting to the airport on time is way too important to depend on these hobos.

Although I really didn’t want to leave Manhattan Beach, I had to get back to reality… and since the first step in that process was getting us to the airport, I called Yellow Cab based on the Unilocal reviews that came before mine.
Yellow Cab answered after a few rings and locked in our reservation. I received a text message at 6:52pm that «taxi #307 dispatched @ 6:50, and I was even sent a link to track it if necessary. That was followed up with another text that the info was sent as part of «improved service» and that I could reply with «STOP» to unsubscribe, and/​or I could go to
to book a taxi instantly in the future. A few minutes after that, our cab arrived at 7pm sharp as requested, and we arrived at the airport earlier than expected. Now that is service!
The only negative is that the actual cab that picked us up was not the cleanest. But the driver was nice and got us safely to our destination. That is the important part. If you’re in the South Bay area and you need transportation, I highly recommend this company based on my experience. I’m saving South Bay Yellow Cab in my phone if that tells you anything!

Apparently they don’t service Culver City– even though they showed up in my Unilocal!search. The guy on the phone was really rude about it. BOO!

I love Yellow Cab! They provide a great service.
I travel a lot, and typically have very early flights out of LAX. I can call ahead and schedule a time for a cab (like 430am) and they are always there. Too, the cabs are clean and the cabbies dont smell.
