This dental office is great! I have ben coming here for almost 8 years and I though i no longer live or work in the area, I have no plans on going anywhere else for my Dental care.
They are honest, attentive, friendly and don’t try to make up stuff (i had another dentist tell me i had a cavity and came to Dr Murphy and he said… no you don’t.) Roxanne and Audrey at the front desk are the sweetest. I thank them for being so welcoming and accommodating. The entire staff truly is one of a kind.

The one star is for the receptionist. As the face of this otherwise exceptional dentistry, I expected more. I think her name is Roxanne, her words are delivered with as much vitriol as she can muster, she has no knowledge of anything to speak of and will waste your time if you have any questions. I always try to bypass her to speak with any other staff member. I have made various complaints but she is still there! If I didn’t like Dr. Murphy and the rest of the staff so much, I would go elsewhere. Such a shame!

Dr. Murphy is the only dentist I will allow to see me! He had been my dentist since the early 90’s — so I guess that’s about 25 years or so! He was recommended to me back then and I am only happy to recommend him to anyone else who reads this.

I wouldn’t go any where else! I love Dr. Murphy’s office.

The best dental office for your entire family! Dr. Murphy’s office is where everyone in the south bay should go: you will be treated with a friendly, sincere attitude and they are always on time.
Dr. Murphys office is easy to find, free parking too.
We’ve been seen promptly for emergency visits and Dr. Murphy himself takes the time to answer all questions and concerns.
Another way to tell if a dental (or medical) office is the «right one»: does the staff look like they like working there? Dr. Murphy’s staff has been there for a long time… you can tell they love working there and hygienist’s, dental assistants and front office management are all WONDERFUL!
When it’s time for a cleaning or if you’ve got an «ouch» in your mouth… check them out!

I’m a part time soldier in the National Guard, so I enrolled in my Tricare dental program. Robert E. Murphy was one of the dentists that showed up on the Tricare website. I also checked Unilocal which gave this dentist 5 stars. However, when I talked to the receptionist, she kept telling me that I need to get my medical work done ON BASE and that their dental office only works with military family members. I tried to explain that I am with the NATIONAL GUARD, a part time soldier, I have no base to go to with medical facilities. She continued to push back and tell me to call Tricare and double check. It’s a shame that they don’t know what they are doing there. I just scheduled an appointment with another dentist in El Segundo. It doesn’t have as good as a rating, but. .. at least they accepted me, no problem.

I’ve been going to Dr. Murphy for almost a year. I will never see another dentist. He’s the kind of dentist you want to refer everyone to. He’s nice, the place is clean and the staff is friendly. I’ve referred everyone to him!

All you need to know is that when it comes to tooth care, Dr. Murphy is the best place. hands down!
When it comes to personal care (medical, vision and dental), I usually just hop around place to place. Usually trying to find a «regular» place where I can go to. I can say that I have found my regular dentist… and his name is Dr. Robert Murphy.
I have been coming here for the past six years (I was hopping place to place before that) and Dr. Murphy has given me a lot of reasons to stay with him:
1. His staff rocks! Receptionist is super-​friendly and always greets you with a smile
2. The hygienist also greets you with a smile and always has stories to tell you while you are getting your cleaning. They always make you feel at home.
3. They hygienists are so good there, you can have a full on coversation while your mouth is opened! Try it! I promise you, they will know what you are saying.
4. Also, on your first visit, and each yearly anniversary after that, Dr. Murphy will come and look at your x-​rays and explain in detail, the condition of your teeth. He’ll also collect an archive of your x-​rays and know whether your molars are straightening out due to grinding, etc. He’s very thorough.
5. Finally, the best part of the trip is that you get one free toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss!
Dr. Murphy is very thorough. He’s not there to make a huge sale, he’s there to ensure that you will be a regular patient with him. I wanted my teeth bleach and instead of going for the $ 500+ bleaching, he recommended me the crest white strips since he says they do the same job (he said I could do the bleach trays, but he felt that would be wasting my money).
He also recommended that I go to a sports store and buy a mouthguard since I grind my teeth when I sleep. He said the mouthpieces at CVS are almost identical but cost 5x more than the ones at the sports store.
If you are searching for a dentist, then definitely give Dr. Murphy a try!
