I have worked at various local spas while maintaining Malabella Studio since 2006. I am a Reiki Master and licensed esthetician. I would love to tend your waxing, skincare and lash extension needs.

My name is April and I am the owner of Malabella Studio– a cozy place to have your waxing and skincare needs met. I am quick and clean. I never double dip, which means my wax is not cross-​contaminated.

I am certified in Advanced Education with:

Osmosis, SkinCeuticals, Eminence Organics, PCA (Physicians Care Alliance), Le Mieux, YG LABS, Glymed, Dermalogica, Epicuren, Care Plus, Skin Script, South Bay Massage School, the Institute of Psycho-​Structural Balancing (IPSB Massage School), The Reiki Center, Sacred Ventures and True Insight.

I have worked at The Body Clinic in Marina del Rey, Escape Day Spa in Manhattan Beach, I was Lead Esthetician at Beach Massage & Day Spa in El Segundo, a member of both National Aesthetic and Spa Network & the Associated Skin Care Professionals, while maintaining my private studio for 7 years.

I am also a Reiki Master/​Teacher, Massage Therapist and I am currently enrolled in a 2 year Intuitive Clairvoyance program.

I just got my french bikini wax done by April this afternoon and, boy, am I impressed. April was very professional and friendly, and her studio equally neat, orderly, as well as hygienic. During the whole procedure, we were just chatting away and it was over before I knew it. I have got to say this is my third time getting waxed but I felt little to no pain. Thus, I highly recommend April! I will be back for more procedures! Thanks, April!

I just got eyelash extensions here and I love the end product. They’re light, beautiful, and not crazy expensive. Went and got my lashes done yesterday and I’m obsessed! I got lashes for length because my natural lashes are super short and fine no matter how much mascara I use. The lashes I got look super natural but long! If only they were actually mine haha! The actual spa is super cute, clean and relaxing! Definitely a gem in the southbay! I can’t wait to go back for my fill. Oh– and I can’t stop taking selfies :))))

April did an awesome job with my lashes :) I am new to the lash extension game, so I was super excited but not sure what to expect. My fear was that they would look super fake, choppy and un-​natural. My expectations were blown out of the water when I saw the results. My lashes looked so natural and felt super light. April really listened to what I wanted and took her time perfecting my lashes! She was very nice and made me feel very relaxed. I would definitely recommend April to anyone and I will for sure be going back!!!

I love april. She’s been waxing me for years now. She’s pain-​free and quick. She also gives me great facials. My face feels baby soft when she’s done and she always finds the perfect blend for my skin type. There is a parking lot with FREE parking and I can always find a spot.

April is awesome! I went to April for a lash extension before a bachelorette party weekend and loved my results! April asks you what Ty want out of the lashes (i.e.: length or volume, etc). The length that April helped me chose was perfect and I received constant compliments on how natural and beautiful my lashes looked. The full set lasted me about 2 weeks and I went for lash fills every 2 weeks after my initial visit for about 1.5 months. Eventually I was ready to go back to regular lashes after treating myself with the extensions. April’s pricing is really reasonably but as a young professional I was spoiling myself a bit with the upkeep of the lashes. On top of all of this, April is so pleasant to be around. Throughout the eyelash appointments her and I has friendly and relaxing conversations. I would definitely recommend April to anyone who is considering doing lash extensions. Five stars! April is awesome!

I am relatively new to eyelash extensions, I got my first ones done over a year ago (not here, by someone else. I wasn’t as impressed with my first ones since I felt like eyelash extensions were unnatural-​looking, too much maintenance, money, and I did not think they were worth re-​filling).
HAVING SAID THAT.
April, at Malabella Studio completely changed my opinion of eyelash extensions:
I wanted to give eyelash extensions another try this year. So I searched Groupon for deals on lash extensions. I bought a Groupon for this place because it is very easy to get to from my house. My first experience here was so pleasant.
First of all, I enjoyed the low-​key environment, second, April was very welcoming, professional, and friendly. (She is so modest, but really she is amazing at what she does)! Finally, to put the icing on the cake, when she was done with my eyelashes, they were sooo gorgeous, and so natural looking! In fact, they were so natural looking, only like 2 people have commented on them since I got my first full set and I take that a very good sign because it means that they aren’t TOO distracting or unnatural looking. I am a very satisfied customer, and I plan on keeping up with my lash refills because I think they are totally worth it! :)

I bought a groupon for lash extensions before going on a girls trip to Palm Springs. It was something I wanted to try but it is so expensive. I have had a few misses with groupon but April was great and I couldn’t be happier with my eyelash extensions. I hope to be able to go in to keep them filled!

I wrote a review recently and then I realized that sometimes I fail to write reviews for the people that I go to regularly. April is wonderful. After having my first bikini wax at another place (which I’ve also rated well), I found April on Unilocal too. I think they’re both great, but it hurts a little less (just a little) with April. She also gave me an amazing facial before my wedding. April is extremely professional, and she’s an awesome personality.

Business was hard to find– there’s a sign outside with «Mariposa Studio» on it… after walking round a few times, I asked and learned that Malabella Studio is within Mariposa Studio. Silly me! April was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, however, the wax I got was not the best I’ve had. Missed quite a few spots. The room was a bit dark too… perhaps get one of those waxing lights for the room?

I came to April based on Unilocal reviews and I’m so glad I did! I had been going to the same lady for my waxing needs for over 4 years but she is in Studio City and it was too much of a hassle to keep going there. So I went to Unilocal to find someone closer to home and I found April. April is AMAZING, she made me feel very comfortable like I’ve known her for years! And to top it off waxing was not painful! April is now my go-​to for my waxing needs. So glad I found her!
