I finally found my eyebrow guru!!! Shayla is amazing!!! She is very thorough and detailed and takes her time to shape your brows perfectly!!! Best not to be in a rush as Shayla is a stickler for perfection! Well worth the time!!! I love my new brows!!! I will come back for other services as well! Shayla is so talented at what she does and she is very personable and sweet! Thank you for making me look pretty again Shayla!!!

I was hesitant to Alyahs Beauty because in the past, a horrible experience left me scarred. I don’t mean to sound over dramatic but that experience was the last time I tried waxing my brows. Since then, I’ve detoured with tweezing and threading. After living out of state and travel overseas, I’ve let my eyebrows grow into a life of their own. Entertaining the thought of getting my eyebrows waxed (again), I scoured Unilocal and briefly stalked Alyahs Beauty reviews and photos. I’m one you might call a cautious consumer and 5 Star rating won’t win me over just like that. After the research and a satisfactory feeling I decided to book.
Shayla was fantastic! She’s exceptional in her field and she did wonders with my brows. She’s also quite personable after I recounted my nightmare of an experience. Sheryl listened to my needs and spoke in a realistic manner. The girl cannot do magic, she can only enhance what you already have, e. g: she cannot wax eyebrows or wax an almost non-​existent brow when there’s nothing there. I will definitely come back to her for my follow up. I’m so glad she’s located in El Segundo!

No complaints with Shayla!!! I was nervous about getting a Brazilian wax, because my first one was at another hair removal spa & it was painful, but not with Shayla, I was real comfortable with her. I would recommend her to everyone, as a matter of fact I have recommended her to three people.

I think I found my girl. The salon suite is very intimate with just you and her. She is very caring, professoonal, not rushy and personable. She did all the services i requested when I booked my appointment online.
When you have your session she tells you all the discounts she offers. Like on Tuesday if you pay with cash you get a discount, if you book a friend an appointment you get a discount.
She really cares about your intimate area. She tells you what care to use and she has products you can purchase to care for the area as well.
Her waxes are next to painless. She uses the best products and oils for the care of your intimate area.
Alyah, is really into the entire art of beauty from your head to your toes. She does make up, eyebrows, hair, waxing and probably a few other things if it is dealing with beauty.
I enjoy the little sour punches candy she had at the entrance by the door. I think I got a bit carried away with the candy though
You guys better watch out she may make me over and you might not be able to recognize how beautiful she has made me.

What a great find! I have 5 stars for all aspects of Alyahs. The website was easy; confirmation immediately; appointment reminders for us absent minded; great customer service and QUALITY service. Places I have been before used wax that hurt a lot more. Also, the attention to detail was amazing. In addition, for all you men out there — this is your place. You don’t have to walk through a salon full of women snickering. It is a one on one setting which is really nice. I simply do not believe any (very little) of the negativity below.

Shayla is such an amazing brow shaper! That is the only service I got but I would recommend her to anyone. She takes her time and really makes sure you have the shape you want. She also will make sure they are perfect for your face. I am so happy that she is so close. I found my brow lady! yay!

After letting my eyebrows grow out for about a month, I was really searching for someone that can give shape to my eyebrows. I was able to schedule an appointment with Shayla who has done a phenomenal job with shaping my eyebrows. She was very sweet and professional and is very passionate about her job. It’s winter and my think eyebrows got out of hand. I found Shayla here on Unilocal and her eyebrow styling is impeccable. She a really sweet, bubbly person to chat with while she’s working on you and she went above and beyond to make sure my brows were on point when I walked out the door.
This girl, is the real deal. Book in.

I have been going to Shayla for years and she is the best around!!! Not only is she kind and attentive to each of her clients but she is excellent at what she does!
I have had waxing and facials done by her and have been impressed every time!
Also, she appears to be super hygienic!!! I have never seen her ‘double dip’ the waxing spatulas, or reuse tweezers until after they have been sanitized.
Seriously there is no other who can give such excellent service every single time!

I was referred to Shayla by a friend who had nothing but great things to say about her. It had been a long time since I used waxing for hair removal – it is just too painful for me– but I was feeling brave when I made my appointment.
The day of my appointment was another story. I had signed on to get a Brazilian wax and was experiencing a little bit of anticipatory anxiety. Shayla did a great job of calming me down and minimizing the pain. I was VERY happy with the results.
Shayla’s suite is very clean and sanitary, as are her methods for waxing. She is available by appointment only and she accepts cash/​card.
I highly recommend her for all your waxing needs; she is seriously an angel sent from heaven.

I did not have the best experience at Alyahs Beauty. I’m new to the area and found the business on Unilocal.I decided to give it a try, due to all the positive reviews.
I am not going to bash, but I will state the facts…
I decided to get lash extensions, which I have gotten several times in the past at other salons.
At Alyahs, I got $ 30 eyelash extensions… Wow what a bargain!!! Upon arrival, I was told that these were not individual lashes, but actually flare lashes. If you are not familiar with flare lashes, they are the kind you buy in the drugstore. They consist of small sections of lashes. I thought «Ok, I’ll give it a shot, after all she has fantastic reviews.» The application took about 45 mins, which is quick for «lash extensions.»
When I left the salon, they appeared decent looking, but that was after they were brushed several times. I wanted something natural looking. We obviously have different ideas of what natural looks like, but that was the least of my concerns. My lashes were not straight and not very natural looking. The end result… the most painful, unsymmetrical lashes I’ve ever experienced. There was so much glue, it hurt. The glue hardens, causing discomfort to the lash-​line. A couple of hours after the service, I had a section fall out. I was actually happy about that because that section was the most out of place in the set. This was the first time I’ve ever left after having extensions and not felt glamorous. I felt ridiculous and was actually embarrassed.
Over the next week, I had to constantly look at my lashes to make sure they weren’t all crazy looking and going different directions. When sections fell out, you could tell that a few of my actual lashes fell out with them. :(Before leaving, Shayla said that I could back within the week to fill in any gaps. But there’s no way I could subject myself to more glue and more pain.
I also had my eyebrows waxed. This was a much better service. I asked just to have them cleaned up. I enjoyed the shape and correction that I was told was made. But I did have to go home and pluck stray hairs that were left behind. That is my ultimate pet peeve with any hair removal service. One should not have to clean up what was left behind… hence the hair removal service, I just paid for.
I’m glad that Shayla has such a satisfied client base. But lesson learned… What is great for one, is not great for all.
