Aerospace Federal Credit Union

I have been a member at AFCU for 10+ years now and I have always received great customer and prompt communication. Although I no longer work for Aerospace Corp, I still continue to bank with AFCU because of their great loan rates and customer service. Vanessa Dunn is the absolute BEST!!! They don’t have many locations but you can always visit shared branches to deposit and withdraw and go to any 7 – 11 for free ATM withdrawals.

Bad experience with them. I am a commercial pilot and upon suggestion from a friend, decided to open a checking account with them; online I filled all the information, I paid ($ 2000) and sent them copy of ID and documents with my signature. I am called the day after by a Liz and I am told that I won’t be able to open an account; with disappointment I ask for originals of my documents and to be reimbursed and to be sent an email recalling the conversation and that I was going to be reimbursed; Liz said that by the following week she would send everything back; after few days, not receiving anything I called and left a message. Another week goes by and finally I am able to talk with her: she said that she had just received my mail (I live in the same zip code) and they could not send me a check before another 10 business days. I asked again for an email confirmation that they were going to reimburse me, for my documents to be sent back and for a check right away because by the time I receive that check and be able to cash it it is going to be almost a month; and this is not acceptable ! Are you reading this Corporate? I also spoke to Jeri about this and she too failed to deliver to even update me about the timing.
As for today I am still waiting for my original documents and a check to reimburse me.
Beware people, you might not see your money for a while with some of these people working for them …

I created an account because my father worked at Aerospace. Somehow i did not manage to use my account enough, so they decided to close it. Don’t get me wrong, they did notify me that if i did not use my account it would be closed but I never received a debit card and the office was not that close. So they eventually closed it and sent my small balance somewhere. I was told that it would go to unclaimed property,… it never did. It just has been a real pain in the butt, and their online banking reps are rude! I’m sorry that you have to work. the lady Heather, was a total sourpuss.

Today I went to open a Credit Union account, taking advantage of the fact that this branch is close to work, and convenient.
Apparently you need something with your most recent address. Also, you cannot swipe your existing bank debit card to pay to open the new account. You must bring at least $ 5 IN CASH to open an account.
This would have all been just fine – until I literally received the most RUDE service from Elizabeth, who is in charge of opening accounts.
Because I didn’t have something with my most recent address on it, I was forced to go back to get something with it on there – but I was informed of this in the most RUDE way by Elizabeth. I confirmed, «Is there anything else I’ll need before I come back?» and she exclaimed, «I *SAID*, NO!».
This is out of control. She is UNPROFESSIONAL and has NO COURTESY or RESPECT. Thank God this isn’t my primary banking center.

The credit union has always been a good friendly place to bank. CD rates are very favorable compared to brink and mortar banks. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of branches. One would have to use another credit union in many cases. But it is very convenient if you are an Aerospace employee or work on campus.
