Canyon Bar & Grill

Didn’t have high expectations since this and the Cedar House Restaurant are the only options. This was the cheaper of the two (in reality it is 1.5 $). I ordered the Canyon Burger and my spouse ordered a Chicken Salad. The Salad was big with chicken, avocado, tomatoes, and buttered bread. The chicken was grilled but nothing special. Dressing is from the salad bar and is basic dressing that restaurants get in huge tubs. The Burger was big and okay. Didn’t realize that it doesn’t come with cheese, but that was my fault. Pool table, TVs, and a full bar. Our food came out reasonably fast, but we were lucky and got there before the crowd.

Congratulations, you have successfully fallen into a TRAP. Enjoy your stay at the mediocre Cedar Point Lodge, but when it’s time to eat, you only have one option. That’s right, there is only on restaurant for MILES and its this one.
First of all, don’t expect them to open on time. Yeah sure the sign says 5:30 and even if it’s dark and freezing you just get to stare at the lady inside taking chairs off of tables. When we were there waiting outside, she came to finally let us in. Turns out she cracked open the door and told us it would be another 10 minutes before we could enter. However, we reluctantly asked to be able to wait inside the heated building and were let in.
Not being open on time: minus one Unilocal star
So yeah we’re just waiting inside helping take the chairs down and such, but the cool thing was we got to watch the Spanish soap opera that the cook had on. While he blankly stared at the tv, it soon became apparent that there were only two employees to serve and cook for 50 people.
Being awfully unemployed: minus another star
There is only one way that we weren’t waiting for our food (or even to get the waitress’s attention for that matter) for an hour. We were the first ones there. Yup, that’s about when the luck ran out for us though, because our food was literally just sitting there waiting to be served but the waitress was to busy to get it to us.

Okay let’s just eat this food and get out of here no one expects it to be anything good but just some tolerable meals to hold us off until we leave this terrible place. What is it this time oh look my turkey avocado doesn’t have any avocado that’s so great. Talked it up with the chef and he was all pissed that he had to cut up a fresh one just for this order. YOURE A CHEF YOU NEED TO CUT UP MORE INGREDIENTS SOMETIMES JESUS

So that leaves this place with the lowest possible review you can give on Unilocal it’s just too bad you can’t give 0 stars this place really deserved it. All I can think is that whoever runs the show any the canyon bar and grill is a real dick.
WARNING: you don’t get service here so hopefully if you’re going to look for a place to eat you look at Unilocal soon enough otherwise you’re screwed and you’ve fallen into the trap. If you can keep driving up the canyon anywhere is going to be better than here.
