Willie Cager played on the historic 1965 – 66 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship team, the Texas Western College (now UTEP) Miners who opened the doors for many young players by having a coach willing to start five African American players in the title game. But, more than that he has spent his lifetime since then dedicated to helping kids in the El Paso region.
