The place is clean, like you can eat off the floor clean. The lady that runs is super nice and always talks to the customers while they wait. The food is pretty damn good and the fries… omg crisp, tasty, and not oil soaked like a lot of places. Love the fish also. Keep up the good work!

First time here. My wife and I were very impressed. The restaurant is extremely clean and the décor fits perfectly. The food was delicious. We ordered 2 orders of the fish and chips(3 pieces of fish each), but one order we substituted the chips for hush puppies, and the other with fried zucchini. Our son ate the kids 3 mini fish and chips. Everything seems to be in order here. All in all, I highly recommend it! Oh, and I forgot to mention they also have a drive through window.

Checked this place out with a few friends because I’ve been craving fried fish since I moved from Corpus Christi. Surprisingly, this place didn’t disappoint. The fried fish was delicious, the fried chicken had a unique breeding that I couldn’t quite grasp but enjoyed. The owner brought us out a French fry creation she was planning to add to the menu for us to try and I really enjoyed it. It had a few sauces, cheese, and green chili sauce… I really enjoyed it. The hush puppies were spiced well and, lastly, the fried Twinkie and ice cream was ridiculously good. I try to save those buys for my leg day workouts but I couldn’t pass it up. Overall, a four is in order. You’re going to get a great fried fish and chips and it will be fast. Their speed in which the order was out was very quick. Will be going back.

Pretty good but a bit pricey. 1 thin piece of fish and 3 shrimp for $ 7.99. The prawns and clams were excellent, but I like the fish and chicken better at Long John Silvers. I need to go back and try their catfish, scallops and calamari. Hush puppies are not included in a combo plate and I wasn’t going to drop $ 1.99 to try them out. I thought about trying the clam chowder but figured it was out of a can and not made from scratch so I passed.

From the outside this place doesn’t seem much but in the inside it is a nice mom and pop establishment. I have always been curious to try this place but I was skeptical. First I noticed that it is very clean inside. I hardly saw any trash on the floor or on the tables. I was a little intimidated to order but I got the courage and placed my order with the cashier, who is very nice. Plus I thought her little hat was cool. I ordered the two pieces of fish and chips. When I first tried the fish it tasted fishy. I thought it was odd until I noticed that’s how fish should taste. It seems like the quality of the fish was fresh and that is a big thumbs up for me. The fish was deep fried very well. On the table they have condiments of ketchup, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. I thought the tartar sauce was lacking in some flavor and that it was a thin sauce. I would suggest to make it a little thicker. I also tried the fried ice cream. This dessert was fantastic. They add slices of orange in the bowl and they add some syrup on top of the ice cream. This was the highlight of my visit. The combination of the orange and the ice cream made it delicious. I thought that the fries weren’t seasoned at all but it wasn’t much of a problem since they had salt and pepper on the table. In conclusion, Tugboat Fish and Chips is a great little place to get fresh and authentic fish and chips. It’s a very clean place that is runned by nice people. Even though the tartar was lacking a bit in flavor and texture, I would definitely come back.

Warning: deep fried fish and chips from this place might be addicting! The mayo was really good, the portion was large and it wasn’t too greasy. The fish tasted fresh and you didn’t have that old oil taste like in some other fish n chips places. The place is nicely decorated and very clean and the Asian lady who worked there was nice, too. You don’t even feel like you’re in El Paso when you enjoy your food in there :)

This was exactly what I was hoping for when I saw the sign for tugboat fish and chips. They fry everything to perfection! My only complaint is that their tartar sauce is kinda lame. I have eaten here several time and the service is always friendly and fast. Highly recommended!

I use to really enjoy their catfish, but when I went today it was«just ok:. The Catfish strips were very chewy tasting. No bueno. This is a small establishment with only about 6 tables and counters surrounding the windows. I like the service here and the prawns are still tasty. Great place for lunch that’s close to base.

We have been going to Tug boat fish and chips since we discovered it probably over two years now. Its consistently good and great service. I get the combo fish and prawns. It usually has oysters in it and scallops but I substitute it for more prawns and love it. Its pretty darn good and I have yet to find another place that makes fish and chips like they do. highly recommend it. We drive from Westside over to Northeast to eat.

So, so, so good! Fish is delicious, it’s in a really nice light batter that comes out crispy. Fries are always well cooked. Tarter sauce tastes homemade. And they are always super nice, the place is very clean. I always enjoy going here!

Don’t be fooled it does not come close to real thing. Chips is not French fries but more like steak fries. The fish does not taste the same. No where close. It taste ok but it misleading to say London style when it isn’t.

the ladies here are WONDERFUL, ok so they call me miss Beautiful so I might be bias, but they are so sweet and remember everyone that comes in. The Fish is awesome. Nice beer batter that doesn’t slide off when you cut into it. Fries arent the best but they are still good. Place is ALWAYS very clean! good lunch spot

OMGeeeee! Get in my belly you delicious deep fried, heavily battered, crispy pieces of heaven! If lovin’ this place is wrong I don’t want to be right! Yes, it is pretty much all fried foods but every once in a while it’s ok to get down like that. This place is always super clean and the nice Asian ladies that own it are sooooo friendly! They always have big smiles on their faces and are so efficient in their service. It is a hole in the wall, but don’t judge a book by its cover! The inside is very nice and I almost forget I’m in El Paso and not cruising along some California warf(maybe it’s the fish tank). I’ve only been there twice and both times I got the prawns with fish and chips. Both times it was AMAZING! Huge portions and not too expensive! I also saw they have deep fried ice cream and twinkies which look great, unfortunately I never have enough room after scarfing down the entire basket of delicious fried goodness placed in front of me. They make their own tartar sauce and it is on point! I mean really. Go.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and décor of the restaurant. I thought it was going to be a greasy dive. The fish was fresh, hot and tasty. They had a large menu including sweet potato fries and fried pickles, YUM! Customer service was great, they brought everything to the table including malt vinegar, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and ketchup.

Best fish and chips I’ve been able to find outside the East Coast. Fish is fried to be crispy, not greasy. I always get the clam straps, since they remind me of home, and they do not disappoint. Staff is excellent and always friendly. Lunch is pretty busy, so I go after the rush, and the wait is minimal. The only thing I’d change would be to make the fries a bit crispier. Besides that, I love this place!

Friendly staff, always clean, good prices and solid food. I have eaten here about 6 times and only one time was the food(fries) not really good. I usually just get the two piece fish meal.

I don’t tend to like fried foods since the grease seems to coat your mouth. The fish here, however, is very light and flavorful with no after taste. They also have THEBEST sweet tea I’ve had(again, not a big fan of usually). I usually have about 2 big cups of it there. Probably the best recommendation that I’ve had is from someone I knew(RIP) who told me that they tasted like the the Fish and Chips when she use to live in London. I’d say that’s some awesome praise.
