It’s our pleasure to welcome you to Fit Pole Studios, El Paso’s première pole fitness studio where fun and fitness are happily married. With two locations in the El Paso area, we offer fitness for the everyday woman. We are excited that you have decided to join the sisterhood of the pole community where we only encourage you and are non-​judgmental.

At Fit Pole Studio, we hope you will take advantage of the many benefits that comes with membership on your journey of becoming stronger, more flexible and healthier. You will receive attendance to as many and any classes of your choice, as well as full access to the studio to practice when there are no scheduled classes. Our classes are always small groups with qualified instructors, and there is never a fee increase when you progress to a new level of poling. In addition to classes, we also offer private parties, pole rental and a variety of products.

History

Established in 2009.

Shaka knew she wanted to open her own business and had set a goal for herself to accomplish this by the time she turned 30 years of age. She remembers watching Oprah on television several years back and Oprah was interviewing Teri Hatcher, an actress from Desperate Housewives. Teri Hatcher was telling the audience about how she was taking pole classes in preparation for a scene on Desperate Housewives – the scene required her to use the pole. This character portrayed a successful entrepreneur and author… That was the «Aha» moment for Shaka.

Shaka then underwent a crazy year of immersing herself into the pole world acquiring knowledge through a variety of pole trainings, fitness education and then went on to work on earning her certification in pole instruction-​PDIC. Shaka had the passion for pole but lacked the business savvy that her now partner, Maxine Stires, possesses. Shaka and Maxine have teamed up and have brought Fit Pole studios in El Paso to the elite status.

Shaka’s success as a business owner can be contributed to her passion for pole and for serving her members, her eagerness to continue to learn and the amazing people she surrounds herself with. Shaka has visited and trained in over 20 studios all around the US and internationally and has trained with the best of the best like Crystal Belcher (multiple title holder in Texas Pole competitions), Pantera Blacksmith (world champion holder), Suwasit (amazing aerialist, pole artist and pole title holder), Fawnia Dietrich (owner of the longest running pole studio and creator of the yearly Las Vegas Pole Expo), David c. Owen (Pole title holder, frequent judge in competitions and model for the pole Fitness Association flash cards). Enough said. Let’s take this to the pole!
