The Home Depot

I came here to buy a closet rod cup holder, since my current one gave up on me. I quickly asked an employee upon entering because the store is masssssssive and it would take me over a day to look for what I need. The employee told me it was on aisle 19 and its somewhere in the middle. I walked over there and walked around and again to look for it but I could not find it. I asked another employee and he lead me to the exact spot it was at. I was extremely grateful for that. Afterwards, I went to self checkout and the checkout I used said CASH ONLY, which I was fine with, however it would not let me pay. I asked the lady who was responsible for the checkouts and she rudely said to me «It’s CREDIT ONLY! Can’t you read» and then she ripped off the CASH ONLY sign and walked away.
I was extremely irritated and disappointed by the way I was treated. Although I did not catch her name, I just hope that she won’t continue treating other customers like that, because this does not reflect well to the store and the rest of it’s employees.
Hopefully, I won’t experience this again in the future at Home Depot.

Been waiting 45 minutes to have our order pulled! Won’t come here again!!! Next stop — Lowe’s!!!

Bobby the manager is awesome. He and his team have great customer service. He helped me pick out my whiteboard and cut it in half for me with great service. He even carried my boards for me. Customer service makes all the difference when shopping!

I have to come here frequently due to work. Sometimes i have small projects that i need materials for. Recently i asked for help and Sonia i believe was her name helped me. I would ask her questions and she was very rude and disrespectful. She acted as if she knew what i was looking for then interrupted me when i tried to speak. After a while i gave up and moved on since she kept ignoring my request. She might have been management but the employees have more consideration for the customers then she did. Im so over these rude management people that you guys hire.

We came shopping for laundry machines. We were looking and comparing for a few minutes and nobody was around to answer questions. The Manager, Fernando passed by and noticed we were waiting for someone to help us. He personally took care of us. He helped us get the best deals! He really made up for the initial wait time. We walked out happy and very satisfied with our purchase.

Bad customer service. The people that works there are all rude. One snapped at us instead of helping us. Manager needs to train their workers better. Will never come back.

All we wanted to do was to duplicate a single key. We stood there waiting for a while, slowly losing our patience as we watch many other employees passing by, but apparently none of them were «hardware specific.» I’ll be honest in saying these other employees at least tried to help us find «the one» but even after such it still took a while. I understand that he was likely busy with another customer but if that’s the case, why not have other employees specialized in this section? We weren’t the only ones waiting to duplicate our keys, and if we could do it ourselves then we would.
P. s. The key is defective and we have only been to this store twice. Last time we tried it with a different key; it was also defective. 2 times visited: 2 defective keys. Nice…

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were given the runaround; we came back multiple times too. Whenever we went, it just so happened that the manager (Albert) wasn’t there; how convenient. We purchased a refrigerator and had Home Depot instal it. We had it for less than 6 months, and we discovered that they screwed up the installation so that it created mold. Home Depot did not own up for its employees’ actions and did not attempt to help resolve our issues. We were shocked that such a huge company had such shitty customer service.

There was two casher and I was in the line waiting for the casher person to come and I told one of the person for assistant for the casher if they can call on someone to go to the casher. While I was waiting I saw 2 or 3 customer lining up in the other side of the cash register. I saw the casher person running up to one of the casher and opening the casher register and I thought he was coming for me to check out, but instead he went to the other casher. I got really disappointed! So when one of the customer checked out I told the casher person can you check me out? And then he responded «no we only use one cash register» and then I had to wait at the back of the line. When I was the first one in the line!

This one star is for two employees that were busy gossiping to each other about how they had to do all the work. Guys, if you’re not happy with your job, quit! When I asked for help, they gave me an aisle number. As soon as I leave, one guy tells the other guy, «see what I mean?» Not sure if he was upset because he felt like he did all the work by answering my question.
I would like to give 5-​stars to the gentleman named Chris. Don’t know his last name, but he was wearing a plaid shirt and shorts. I was there on March 1^st. I guess he saw me mocking the guy and came up to me and asked if I needed help. He went with me everywhere to figure out what I needed.
Im leaving the one star mark in hopes that HD sees this review and possibly reward Chris. Also, check on some of your employees that don’t seem too happy.

Worst assistant manager ever. It will only be a matter or time that this company fails due to the poor customer service.

Odelis in Customer Service is such a Sweet, Very Pretty & Helpful Employee. I came in to find a HandPump to use to pump-​out some water. There’s only 1 in stock, In-​Stores and the rest is Only Available Online or Custom Order. She took the time to not only try to find somebody to Specifically Help Me Out but, she also managed to check their Inventory, Help see what they had available online, and Help explain to me everything that I needed to know and how the store operates as to what other options I had available for me to choose. She was very patient, thoughtful and knowledgable with everything. I almost wanted to ask her for a coffee date, Lol!
Let this be your Go-​To Person when coming to this store! She needs to be Employee Of The Month or a Commendation or a Raise in Pay or whatever!

I’ve been coming to this Home Depot (and the one in Alhambra) pretty much every single week for the past 2 months. Sometimes I even come twice a week! Why? Because we’ve been doing a lot of remodeling in the house and I have to constantly come here to look at all the different flooring, tiles, doors, molding, bathrooms, etc. because there’s just too many things to choose from and I can’t decide: P
I’m generally happy with the service that I’ve received here so far. There’s always someone nearby who can help you and whenever I walk in here at least 3 different people ask me if I need help finding anything (or is that because I’m a girl? Who looks lost in a hardware store? Haha). Most of the workers here are generally friendly and helpful.
However, my one MAJOR complaint is that each person I asked regarding delivery pricing quoted me different prices. My simple question to them: how much does it cost to deliver one entry door and 2 french doors? And I got a range of responses: $ 89, $ 79, $ 20 («They should all fit in a small pick up so that’s only gonna cost you $ 20»). All the people I asked worked in the door department and I asked them on 3 separate visits within the same week. Somehow when I finally ended up ordering the doors, the guy charged me $ 108 for the delivery. WTH. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS INCORRECT QUOTES!!! PLEASE TEACH YOUR EMPLOYEES HOW TO CORRECTLY QUOTE YOUR PRICES. Not happy that I had to pay more than I anticipated for delivery.
So unfortunately this drops my rating from 4 stars to 2.

Home Depot, one of my favorite places to visit! Lol This particular location usually has everything in stock. There are so many people that work in this place. But in most departments they try to keep a specialist to make it more convenient for people like me to ask many questions, Lol. For the most part, customer service here is great! I’d say better than the Alhambra location. They will try to assist you for the most part. I do recommend YouTubing a few videos before stepping into this store, then asking someone at the store for confirmation. Because depending on the hour of the day, sometimes you get someone there that doesn’t know anything at all about anything in the store.
Return policy is good. 90 days. And usually if you are having issues with a part, they try to assist you in finding the right part or just returning it with no hesitation.
They usually have someone in the entrance greeting everyone that walks in. I’d say this home depot is very welcoming and I would recommend it to anyone.

Love coming to Home Depot whenever I’m renovating the house or doing DIY projects.
My brother was helping me install the new bathroom frame and sliding door for me, and so we ventured down to this Home Depot, and cuz he had some items to return himself.
I got a new bathroom frame and sliding glass doors. The plumbing bones structure of my bathroom is still pretty good and so I’m saving that reno for a future upgrade. With the help of Ka-​Boom bathroom cleaners and a lil elbow grease and new caulking, it looks brand new again. For now, I just needed new doors cuz the old one was brass and it was hella rusty and old. Love my new frame and sliding doors, yay!
Employees here are cool — helpful when you need them. Otherwise, a quick hello when passing by each other while on my merry way.

Tuesday at 8:00…not busy at all inside.3 employees, 1 restocking, 1 looking at nails, another who couldn’t cut lumber so he put out the call for customer service. Waited 15 minutes.nothing. They used the PA system 3 times for someone to cut lumber
and nothing. Oh yes let me add 2 other people needed lumber cut too… not coming back here…:/

Been coming here for many years and they still provide great service with their jovial staffers. Home depot has your answers dealing with home repair, annoying pests, appliances, and gardening! They also have a tool rental department just in case you don’t have that specific tool you need. Lastly, if you need a truck to move your belongs, Home Depot is there for you also.
I have encountered many problems in the past to our home, but I’m glad home depot was there when we needed them the most.
Dilemma
Problem: There was a situation 3 or 4 months ago when our house was invaded by flies. They would literally camp out everywhere in our kitchen, living room, family room, and restrooms. I killed some of them and brought it to Home Depot.
Solution: A kind employee saw the small sample and told me that they were fruit flies. The employee was very professional, friendly, and gave me great recommendations. Instead of getting the most expensive product, he recommended to get the least expensive one which was still effective to combat these pesty flies.
Results: After two weeks of using the product, the pesty fruit flies were gone! Well done Home Depot you saved our home from unwanted guests! :)
Home Depot saved the day again. I’m very grateful.

Since I don’t visit hardware stores too often, I can’t give the most accurate description or comparison in terms of pricing, quality, or brands. But… The Home Depot in El Monte is good!
Usually I’ll pop in here if my boyfriend needs to get something and we’re in the area, and we usually have no trouble finding what we need. This last time, I went in to buy a portable dolly. It was actually cheaper here than it was at Walmart! I was so surprised!
I was able to find an employee very quickly, who led me to the right aisle in less than 5 seconds. The item was very easy to locate, and had a variety of different dollies to choose from. The same goes for other items here too. Sometimes there are so many different kinds to choose from that we have a difficult time deciding.
Regardless, I think The Home Depot has great prices and such a great selection for my own needs that I’d be coming back often. The service is great here and I’ve always been able to find what I need quickly. Thanks, The Home Depot for being there when I need.

Parking lot is always packed, opening to closing. Service is friendly and helpful.
They usually have everything I need in stock. I check online for the items I need to make sure just in case.
Look for coupons if you can so you can save some money.

I love Going to Home Depot without any sense of urgency… It’s fun to go goof around with stuff, work on non-​vital projects, find cool plants for the garden or greenhouse, or figure out what industrial products could be DIYed into fishing related items (would you believe there’s some cool fly tying materials at HD?)
But when I have a problem that requires a specific solution, Home Depot gets hard. There are several reasons for this. Here’s the latest manifestation of this situation:
The bolts that hold the tank on the back of the toilet in our master bath started leaking, then really started leaking. I drained the tank, turned off the water, and drove to the Depot…
A cursory search of YouTube showed me what I needed– a bolt kit with vinyl washers. Searching Home Depot’s website was pointless for such a utility item, so into the store I went.
And here’s where it gets strange to me: there’s three employees showing a small group how to stucco a block wall… Sort of a mini lesson in store for free. Yet four aisles away are three orange aproned employees in the plumbing area ignoring every customer possible. I finally cornered the least angry looking one and asked if they carried the bolt kit. No smile, no response beyond a guttural grunt and a nod to the other side of the aisle. To his credit, he grabbed a small bag off the shelf and said «here.» Whatever, boring conversation anyway, but I got what I needed.
At the register, I realized the bag given to me was missing more than half the parts and had been carefully taped. Of course this was after waiting in line. I went back and grabbed a complete kit.
Interestingly, there have been other times when staff are literally asking in the aisles «anybody need help?» I just never find these people when I need them. It’s also unclear if these are employees to help customers, or stock crew/​inventory people or what.
I’ll always go back to the Depot because it’s fun. But when I have to rely on someone in store to give me specific help or advice, that do it yourself theme really resonates… Because for the most part, when it comes to finding parts or needed items at Home Depot, that too is a DIY project.
But hell, it could be worse: the house is a rental, and for 6 bucks and a half hour of work, the toilet is fine. The last time I told the landlord the toilet had a leak, it took two weeks, a dozen phone calls and emails, and they installed a whole new toilet.
