Specialties
“Complete, reliable service from the same location since 1973″
History
Established in 1973.
We bought our current building on Ramona Blvd., just west of Peck Rd., in 1973, during the recession. Very scary times! Sound familiar? In the last 44 years our family business has grown and prospered by providing quality service and products at reasonable cost.
Our clients include Longo Toyota, J. E. DeWitt, Miller Brewing, AAA Speedway, Irwindale Speedway, Roger Penske and many local cities, schools and businesses.
Meet the Business Owner
Smitty S.
Business Owner
Smitty’s Signworks was established in 1971, on Rosemead Blvd., in El Monte, California. The same year, the Beatles broke up, «Patton» won the Best Picture, the Colts beat the Cowboys in Super Bowl V, the average house sold for $ 23,400, the average car cost $ 3900 and was burning 30 cents a gallon gas.
ALL signs were lettered by hand or screen printed. We started out painting 14’X48’ billboards along the freeways, some over 100′ in the air. Our best clients were Montgomery Wards (gone) and painting «Gas War Prices» and «10 Times Blue Chip Stamps» on gas stations (at 28 cents a gallon)!. IBM computers as big as a room were used to launch Apollo spaceships, not to create signs. Yes, things have changed, and so have we.
