Worst place ever! They know nothing about animals their priority is your money. When people don’t have any consideration for another creatures life it’s disgusting. Be prepared to see rusty cages, moldy water bowls, hundreds of flies, dogs in wire cages stepping and sleeping on their own feces, dead fishes floating and being eaten. I am glad Petco recently opened one block away, that way they put this business out for good. It’s so bad that I have no consideration for the owners. I hate that I even have to give them one star.

This place is terrible the dog they were selling has flies all over it crying the hamsters were having babies after babies and killing each other one had a hole in its head. It’s to hot for them in there. The fishes filters were green they do not take care of them. I’m working on shutting the business down!!! Dumb owners don’t know how to run a pet business. I will shit you down !!! It smells it’s dirty and prob has a disease in there floating around.

Don’t buy anything from these scams ! The pets are unhealthy ! I bought everything for my bunny, cage food and other things and it died the second day ! This place is dirty and sick !!! My cutest bunny has died and I’m crying while writing this review !!

PLEASE BOYCOTT THESE ANIMAL KILLERS. I hate this petshop!!! I want it shut down. The owners and employees are neglectful and don’t give a shit about the animals. I went in and I got into an argument with the asshole that works there. The Asian lady said he was a vet pfffft sure buddy. I told him about a hamster that was dying and he gave me a big shitty asshole response and basically if I wanted to report them, to go ahead. So I did. And I’m going to follow through and hope this hell for animals is shutdown for once. All of the animals are cramped injured or sick and living in filthy tanks and cages. Please don’t shop here.

The place is a little while in the wall mom&pop store. I purchased crickets and a live baby mouse for my bearded dragon which was exciting because petco only selks em dead and frozen. They sell their crickets 12 for $ 1, sizes vary and are mixed so you cant ask specifically for small or large ones.
They have a varying selection of fishes, a couple different kinds of reptiles, birds, bunnies reg & dwarfs, guinea pigs and some rodents. Their keep of the animals isnt top notch but they look fed and somewhat clean.
Their animal supplies are priced nicely and affordable compared to mainstream pet stores.
Customer service was good, workers were attentive when you need them but they don’t come looking for to see if you need help. They dont have too much info on the animals but you could feed off info from other customers

Outright rude… If I could, I’ll give this place NO STARS at all!
I called in to check what time they open and was told that they open everyday at 10am. I explained to the guy over the phone my dilemma. I wanted to purchase goldfishes for a school fair that was being held at my work, but I clock in at 8am and since they don’t open until 10am, I had a problem at hand. I was going to ask the person over the phone if the fishes would survive the night if I were to buy it the night before the school fair, but before I can even ask him anything, the person said in a very loud, rude and hurried manner that «he does not do that,» and hung up right away. First of all, whatever happened to customer service and second, that is not how you do business or treat a customer.
Let me just put it out there that I’m all for helping out small, mom and pop’s shop, hence, my phone call to this particular shop in the first place, but if you are going to talk to a customer in that tone, I’d take my money elsewhere. In fact, I’ll rather pay for an overpriced fish at a corporate Petco or PetSmart. At least I’ll be treated nicely… It’s not wonder why this business is barely surviving. In that tone/​attitude, you’ll never get a returning customer.
In short, come here only if you absolutely have to, or if you want to be treated like a piece of trash. –_​_​_​_​–

It’s been sometime since I been here. I caught a lizard the other day while I was cleaning my dog’s poop out of his crate. I trapped the lizard and deciding to keep it. I stop by this store to find a tank and seen some bunnies for $ 20 which I was so close to buying. I came to think of it that when I’m back at work I don’t think I will have time for a lizard and bunny so I ran out of the store and drove home and I let the lizard free. I decided not to incarcerate the lizard. He done nothing wrong.

This pet store is situated in downtown El Monte where you will need to find street parking during heavy hours of traffic especially during the weekends.
If you are looking for cheap fish but the quality might not be as good you can come to Noah’s Ark. The quality of the tanks are average, just today i saw some dead fishes floating with other fishes eating it away. However, the plus is that when they have large African Cichlids, they cost around $ 10 dollars which is a bargain! Petco sales them for $ 30ish and other stores around $ 15. But then again, I go somewhere else to look for a wide selection of fish.
The funny thing about this place is that they have a health inspector sign «B». I guess they sell ice cream and snacks. Odd to sell human food in a pet store.

5 years ago I purchase a red belly parrot (Muppet) from this place. I did not know the bird was a red belly parrot till a few years after, because the bird was just labeled «parrot». The bird was In a old beat up rusty cage, it’s to bad the people here don’t know much about proper parrot nutrition. There was a bowl a water and a bowl of just sunflower seeds. Needless to say the bird found a spot with me and after months of changing the birds bad habit of a all sunflower seed diet. I gave this place 3 stars because the lack of nutritional knowledge this place know about there animals.

I come here to buy cheap betta fish and goldfish. I just feel kind of ripped off by Corporate Petco and Petsmart sometimes. I gave a friend a betta from here as a gift that grew to like «tall and lived for 4 years. It was freakin’ amazing. What a champ! It’s a nice hole in the wall pet store tucked away amidst the Hispanic shopping community of El Monte. They have a simple small selection of birds, rabbits, and reptiles as well. So go out and give some animals some lovin’ here, and support another mom & pop store. I just love the name of this place. I’m surprised there aren’t more out there with this name.
