Nelson & Associates practices exclusively in the area of immigration law. The firm handles all types of business, employment and family-​based petitions and applications, including both criminal and fraud waivers. It also represents individuals in Removal Proceedings as well as appeals to the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO), Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

History

Established in 2004.

The firm’s owner, Franklin W. Nelson, began practicing immigration law in 1994 and started his own firm in 1996 as a Sole Practitioner.

In 1998, Mr. Nelson accepted a partnership offer with Bander Law Firm to revive and manage their Immigration Department.

In 2003, after several years of successfully managing the Immigration Department for Bander Law Firm, Mr. Nelson left the firm to, once again, become a Sole Practitioner.

In 2004, Mr. Nelson incorporated his practice under the name of Nelson & Associates, A Professional Law Corporation.

Mr. Nelson obtained both his Bachelor’s Degree and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Southern California. He began practicing law in 1990 and began practicing immigration law in 1994. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is admitted to practice before all of the courts of the State of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Throughout his career, Mr. Nelson has continuously advocated, protected and defended the rights of immigrants. He has represented literally thousands of businesses, individuals and families. He has also fought to protect the victims of domestic violence seeking a future in the United States free of their abusers, and has also fought on behalf of World War II veterans seeking citizenship as a result of their military service.
