I am a veteran musical theatre-goer in the Sacramento area. After seeing hundreds of local shows, including Broadway/National tours, I will never forget my first EDMT show(2007). I can’t begin to tell you for floored I was by the production quality and deep talent. I’ve seen almost every show since and they just keep improving which says a lot considering how stellar they were to begin with. Bravo, EDMT!

Went to see Hairspray last weekend and it was great fun. Went with a group of women and we couldn’t stop laughing! The actors/actresses pull you into the scene with them. It was a great production! Looking forward to going back again with my husband this time. He heard so much raving from us women that he can’t wait to see it now. Great performance!

Musicals put on by high schoolers. Sounds like a recipe for a dull evening(unless your kid is in the program). Right? Wrong! We first went to see these kids perform thinking it would be «something to do», but not expecting much. We were surprised to find that they put on a professional performance. Good sound, lighting and sets, and the kids take it seriously. They aren’t all huge talents, but many of them are pretty terrific, and they never fail to entertain. It’s a terrific value for your entertainment dollar and a whole lot of fun. The productions alternate between the Folsom High School and Oak Ridge High School(in El Dorado Hills). Too bad, because the Jill Solberg Theater at Folsom High is state of the art, and they should really do all their performances there. But in any theater, this is worth watching(and no, I’m not a parent, just a fan).
