The Palms Restaurant & Banquet Hall

I attended a wedding last night and the service was very poor there was no drinking water glasses there was no napkins and the service from the staff which had no personality and no smile was very very upsetting, very rude personalities I will never recommend that place to anyone at all The air conditioning system didn’t seem to be strong enough. They need to look at their service fix it talk to their employees about good customer service. I remember when it used to be called the Crystal Ballroom, and I had a great experience so sorry that place has gone down. You have to go into the alley way because the front entrance also closed very disappointed. unfortunately to post this I have to select a star rating if it were up to me I give them no stars.

Only setup for special events for special clientele. Not open for daily business. We live in the area and see events except for the middle Eastern culture only. They do not like people looking through their large window. I am surprised that El Cajon City allows them to keep their place so secretive with curtains covering the window facing Main Street. Not inviting for normal patrons.

I go to about 50 special events per year and the hardest thing to find is good scratch-​made food served by a genuinely warm and attentive staff… Well this place has it along with a beautiful bar and cavernous party area. The Palms is a hidden gem in El Cajon with thoughtful ownership!

I was here for an engagement last weekend and was surprised at how nice the place is. I’ve heard that its very old and outdated and everything looks cheap. But it wasn’t terrible. If you’re looking for a average sized banquet hall and are having a party with about 60 – 90 people, you should be fine. Our waiter was very nice and had us laughing every time he came by. Now the food. We had 2 options, fish with rice and veggies or kabob & chicken with rice and veggies. I normally don’t like fish, but everyone at my table said it was delicious, so I choose the fish. It was breaded nicely. Not crispy, but not soggy. Just breaded (I hope that makes sense). But it was seasoned nicely and had a very nice flavor to it. The rice was okay, but the veggies were terribly under seasoned. And tasted like they were frozen and came right out of a bag. Frozen or canned veggies = very mushy texture. Overall, the experience was better than I expected and I hope the next experience is even better :)

Went there for a party. The appetizers had way to much lemon juice. I thought I was the only one. But everyone at the table said the same thing. The waitress had a real pretty face. But that’s about it. Never got any orders right. The food was cold and the rice was dry. The kids meal was more like for a 2 yr old. It was a very nice place. Kind of weird that it is named Plams and there were no pictures of a palm tree? Anyways that was my experience.

Came here for a henna party and everything was great. The servers were so attentive and always coming to see if we needed anything. The hall was a good size and was very nice. The food was delicious. My daughter and I asked for a fish option and they had it! I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a small venue to have your event.

I had the opportunity to enjoy this facility as part of a formal, evening event and I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and professionalism of the Palms Center. The space is ample, and the arrangements and setup were top notch. Since I did not have dinner due to my role in the event I cannot comment on the food.
Finding the entrance is a little tricky, if you reach Undisputed, you have gone too far. It actually is behind the facility in the parking lot. This is a place that is well worth considering for functions.
It is nice to see new businesses take root here in downtown El Cajon. While some may knock it for its location, especially after hours, this is not the businesses fault. They have invested in an area that has been long overdue for it and I hope to come here for future functions.

This place is the spot. Was here for a wedding and had a blast… Great food and service. Highly impressed…
